Just had this conversation today - it was about Bosa getting held and whether or not their is a conscious effort to let Oline get away with a bit more holding then normal. I don’t really care - so long as it’s both ways.
-
We shouldn’t be rushing 3 more then half the time. 8 guys in coverage needs to be mixed in throughout the game. Lots of Dorsey play calling understandably but Leslie needs to call a great game. I think the best called game on D and only game post the bye we’ve had was New England the first game. We need a well called game on D.

Didn't Dawkins say they don’t like each other? That there is some real animosity and that game Monday was going to be a shootout - he could tell from the atmosphere how intense it was going to be. 2 things I don’t like about this game: 1. The Bengals being AFC Champs; beat KC; upgraded their roster; and had to hear about the Bills all off season and in season. 2. They feel they “lost” the opportunity to play this game at home. I’m pretty sure they hate us. We are going to need to increase the intensity level to something the Bengals didn’t even see in Kansas City. And score 40.

So I think the blitzes were disguised at times - the check down had to be determined pre snap - if you’re wrong it’s a possible pick. Or an incompletion that makes the D see what they’re doing is working - gets them fired up. And just near misses give you some pause like man, we can’t keep unleashing like that. The deep shots are also something they aren’t expecting as Darius Slay was saying on Twitter. Look at some of those replays and try and determine pre snap where you’d go. There were a few I guessed a guy that was double teamed somehow.

Season end, how good are the Bills really?

The Bengals have won 4 games vs playoff teams: Tampa (lol) Ravens (no Lamar) Chiefs (ok…I guess) Miami (Tua hurt in 1st quarter) -

Philips Wilkins and Chubb are ??? Miami’s secondary is better. The Bengals are a better coached defense. Of this I have no doubt. Talent wise the Dolphins D is much better then the Bengals. But one of the most underachieving units in recent memory. Branden Staley will be their DC in a few weeks. -
If he’s feeling in the zone on the deep shots - take ‘em. Especially with how Miami was playing. Once it was 17-0 take the safe stuff. If you are seeing 2 deep, he’ll be taking the safe stuff.

Brady is 15-33 for 125 yards and an INT

“Dak’s last game vs Washington should have meant this week was going to be a disaster.” —Low info Josh Allen critics

Hopefully Brady ends up in Miami. Lol

But what? Fluky sack fumble for a TD mean that the Bengals or Jaguars (4 INTs) offense was better then ours? The eye test to me was we looked fantastic but took a bad sack and a bad drop for Shakir that would have led to a blowout. I listened to the opening segment of the WGR morning show. My God the stupid. Does anyone in Buffalo watch other games??

If we had one of Hyde or Miller I’d say we are the best team in the NFL. We don’t have either. Poyer does not look close to 100%. The Defense we assembled didn’t play 1 snap together. We are riding and dying with the offense. -
Very good write-up on Josh Allen and the Bills this postseason

No one has any idea what to expect. Love it. -
I watched a game that if not for a few drops by Miami they have the lead in the first quarter. And, did anyone watching think if Tua was there they could have easily scored 30 without the TOs? I saw a defense get bailed out by a rookie QB that had no business playing. Look it’s not their fault. I’ve said this it’s the injuries. We’re at critical mass. We should be operating as if we won’t be able to stop or slow down enough any of the remaining teams. Allen and the O yesterday had a lot of that “we ain’t losing this game anyway” once we went up 17-0 because of the QB on the other side. Can’t play like that anymore.

I’ve seen the Jets and Dolphins scrubs hold up well enough to know that this should not be taken for granted by anyone that Cincy will have a hard time with our front 4. They needed all kinds of blitzes I’m willing to bet Miami wasn’t expecting much of in order to get home. I don’t recall seeing Edmonds blitz that much. Maybe it was only a few times but felt like half a dozen.
-
100% has to be the Oline injuries for Cincy. That should be a massive deal. But I have so little confidence in the Dline right now. Nothing against their talent it’s that Rousseau needs help he’s not getting home and is DE1 by a mile so seeing more attention. Oliver is nowhere near 100%. Neither is Philips. Something happened to Settle in practice last week. The Bengals made it clear last time. They don’t respect this defense at all. “We ain’t the Ravens.” Need 40 points.

Playoff Mindset...the Enemy is...us

21-5 in the 26 games since the Colts debacle. The rest is correct all 5 losses by a combined 20 points and 3 of them were in OT. -
Josh Allen Bashers, what's your solution?
Big Blitz replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is a bit of an overreaction to one game that was dictating to us to throw deep or hope our WRs not named Diggs can get separation on the quick stuff - do we have more videos of perhaps on the downs Josh was sacked no one had separation? Plus, the other QBs could not throw the ball 80 yards. -
Makes sense putting this here actually D playing zero is expecting quick throws - expecting you to have no time to throw deep. I’m sure there are hot route options but it looked today like Allen and Dorsey were in “we’re going to make them pay” mode. Which paid off but led to at least 1 INT and 7 sacks but no telling what the thought process on each was. Bottom line - whatever the plan is this week we can’t have multiple turnovers. Probably going to have 1. But…..need 40 points.

Watched Favre have a few games like that for 20 years. Only one I put on him today is the fumble. That was horrendous. But those things happen when you believe like Favre did that you can do literally whatever you want on the field. He was overall outstanding today against a very hungry and angry defense that he keeps lighting up. Fun fact - THREE of our 5 WRs today - one is a rookie that hardly plays and the other 2 just rejoined the team a month ago. Josh Allen continues to do more and asked to do more with less then any QB. Really sick of hearing about Burrow in the conversation as an MVP when you have 2 of the 15 best WRs in the league - and Joe Mixon. When one of Chase or Higgins has been out Burrow isn't the same. Gabe Davis isn’t Tee Higgins - yet (told y’all the breakout might be a year too soon he was so raw as a rookie). And really sick of hearing any of our fans even sweat it at this point honestly. Let them argue their tiers and power rankings. Nit pick over INTs. All Allen has done is win since the last 6 games of his rookie season. And I love that he takes accountability for the mistakes - he doesn’t make any excuses or quantifies them like I just did. He owns them. Then he credits everyone else. -
Folks need to just accept the Bengals are scoring 27-34 points. This defense is a hot mess without Hyde, his back up, and Miller. More importantly, Oliver is not close to 100 percent. Neither is Poyer. And Philips being out is a big deal. It can be over come because of our O. So we need to take every possession as if we need 7 - Josh can’t slack and Dorsey needs to be on point.
