Success will continue if: 1. Allen is still Allen - not near ceiling btw because - 2. Adjustment year with Dorsey - we all knew this would be an issue. Today it was but he gets a B on his first year from me. 3. We use Knox like we pay him big money. 4. Gabe Davis breakout year 5. Shakir becomes a solid slot WR 6. Cook becomes worth passing on Walker or Hall. He becomes our best RB since Shady. 7. Oline improves because we make changes 8. Miller Hyde Hamlin White all 100% and play the whole season. 9. The 2023 draft is a success 10. Elam and Benford make huge leaps and we have a true no fly zone secondary As for Edmonds and Poyer. I don’t know.

The spending was fine - mostly. The problem is the 2019-2021 draft classes are not helping. Knox and Oliver. That’s it. We paid Knox and he’s as polarizing as anyone. Bass I guess. There isn’t ONE other player on this team on a rookie contract from those classes that we are like “we gotta keep him.” Oliver? No longer care. Singletary? Sure for 2 mill per. AJ? Davis? Groot (needs a dominant 2023) And?? Beane blew those drafts so BAD. Point is some decent players - like most teams. But no pro bowlers. No good olinemen. Terrible. But let’s keep trading down!!

Trade Diggs for assets and go to a more controlled ground game.

In 2023, if you’re in the playoffs you should have a good to great offense. On defense you should much rather be good with them scoring quick on a deep shot depending what’s going on in the game - at least you are aggressive - at least it didn’t take too much time - you get the ball back quicker. And you answer back. It’s the philosophy. Philosophy on defense has to change. We can still play a 2 deep shell at times or be willing to let them dink and dunk - but against accurate QBS it is literally the worst defense to play and that’s why the Bengals were confident they would expose us. Ravens play elite man coverage and get after the QB. I think that’s how defenses want to play. -
Yep - especially when you have a garbage Defense going against an elite offense I absolutely hated kicking off. Not hyperbole I truly believe that played a massive role in losing this game. That and the 3rd and 10 timeout. I laughed got up when he called it and I said “game over.” Didn’t even watch the play I heard the families response from the kitchen as I was getting a serving of the pulled pork we made and I just laughed. We weren’t dictating. We were reacting. That’s how you lose in…pretty much everything

Davis is a potential trade piece - could see trading Davis and the 27th to move up to snag a WR we like. Then trade a 2nd for Hopkins. We’ll have the money because I’m not resigning Poyer or Oliver. Btw I’m not saying I would do that but I’m listening and looking. -
So what is the first coach or domino to fall?
Big Blitz replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
We run so many stupid stunts. Those take time - they were great in the 90s when QBs took maybe 3 seconds to throw the ball and most were statues. They don’t confuse lineman much and unless you’re blitzing I consider them a waste. You need your guy to beat their guy off the ball physically one on one and get pressure asap -

Eric Washington if anyone. That’s it The D line has gotten worse as the season went on. It’s gotten worse since he was hired. -

Dorsey, after getting the endorsement of your franchise QB, just finished year one and improved on nearly every major stat vs 2021 He isn’t getting fired. Frazier, isn’t getting fired for losing Hyde, Miller, Hamlin, not having Tre White (80% of him) until December, or drafting AJ Epenessa and Boogie Basham. ESPN Headline behind their paywall: ”Bills title window is closed.” Good. Let’s go into the off season the actual underdogs we are and will be until we win a SB or reimagine our trenches to look like the Eagles - who would have annihilated us. -
The Final 4 QBs in the NFC were Brock Purdy Jalen Hurts Daniel Jones Dak Congrats to those that bet that in the off season.
-
Down 14 - it absolutely was That's partially why kicking off to an elite offense to start the game was so freaking stupid.

Josh looked really defeated in his press conference.

Considering everything they’ve been thru……considering expectations of being the favorite all year…..this is understandable. The Hamlin injury was unprecedented and they could have folded that next week. Then in RD 1. McD did a tremendous job but ultimately failed. I think he needs to start seeing himself as the figurehead and completely turn over the D to someone young and up and coming. But as I’ve said that’s not happening. They aren’t firing Frazier. -
They’re about to win a second SB in 5 years - with 2 different coaches.
-
Everyone talking about firing Leslie - nope. Not going to happen. OC - you want this to be a revolving door for the next decade? O does awesome - OC gets HC job. Replace. Repeat. Hope to win a SB in there somewhere. That’s my problem. I want my QB as comfortable as possible every year with his offensive staff. The only option for that is a full house cleaning bring in an offensive HC - but I think this regime gets at least one more year. What they did this year can’t be overstated enough. We would look bad as an organization to just move on from them. I unfortunately as the OP said easily see it heading that way - it’s almost like with everything they do you still have the impact of 13 seconds hanging over everything. And the impact of that loss can’t be overstated enough.

Who are you rooting for next week? Cincy or KC?
Big Blitz replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cincy But Philly is winning the SB -
Franchise in trouble- Josh Allen has regressed

Chiefs and Mahomes lost this exact game in almost exact same way at home to the Chiefs last year. Well, they played a good first half blew a lead but looked a lot worse then we did for that 2nd half. Thats all I got. -
McBeane's investment in the D Line last five seasons

The following rosters in the AFC top to bottom are superior to ours: Cincinnati Miami Chargers Maybe: Chiefs Ravens Browns Yet still the 2 seed. Either because of Allen, coaching, or both. So. Wtf are we supposed to do?? -
Why do we bother to think like this? Who cares what talking points are? Who cares? For whatever reason the Bills O looked at times like the Chiefs O did in the 2nd half vs Cincy last year. Maybe coaching is a big deal and that DC in Cincinnati (who had the DEs to do to us what we wanted Miller to do to Mahomes) knows what he’s doing. If we had those DEs what do we do to Mahomes? This isn’t hard. Our GM has been out GM’d while we’ve been celebrating our rise to relevancy.

He’s made a ton of wrong ones and failed to act where action was needed since the 2021 off season. The Oline is patchwork. The RB position isn’t important No desperation to compliment Diggs has the rest of the league figures out you need 2 studs minimum. The D line is God awful. I love Rousseau but something is wrong. Selecting Basham after Rousseau is so laughably embarrassing You gave $160 million to a 33 year old DE - great. I’m glad we have him. He’s 33. You added Hines to have one great game vs New England. Cool. CMC is leading the 49ers to the SB.
