The obituary will say streaming killed it. No. Wokeism will be the main reason - we are going on 5 plus solid years (2 of which they shut down bc of the flu that’s only sped this up) of forcing scripts to include plots and characters that represent the “oppressed.” Specifically the LGTBYEASSHCRU2plus loons. Half of this country is tired of it (bc it’s forced and deliberate making for a garbage product) and it is showing - they are apprehensive about watching a lot of new shows or movies bc they have now had it in their face I said 5 years with certainty but it’s been a bit longer. Look at lists of movies released in say 1994 vs 2019. It’s strikingly bad. Google highest grossing films 2019…. You’ll see Woke Star Wars on the list. Do little kids think of Rey Skywalker these days the way my generation thought of Luke? That’s absolutely what some moron in the writers room was told to do. Character should be female! A female Luke! It’s not authentic and it risks being absolute trash. So take away the comic book movies, sequels, reboots, cartoons, and remakes. Here is what’s left of the list in the top 20: 12. Us (which btw is by a Director who says he’s only going to cast African Americans as his leads). See unfortunately racist white liberal elites that ran Hollywood for decades discriminated against Blacks - so I don’t really blame him for wanting to do that. That’s it. That’s the list. Feel free to correct me if I’m missing something. Props to Marvel tho for executing their plan - it absolutely worked and Avengers should have a place in movie history. Hollywood and the way we watch movies and shows is going to fracture unless they stop ignoring half the country. Going to probably not go that way with the new requirements to be nominated for awards. The media industry is in turmoil, and that's not changing anytime soon Traditional TV is dying. Ad revenue is soft. Streaming isn't profitable. And Hollywood is practically shut down as the actors and writers unions settle in for what is shaping up to be a long and bitter work stoppage. All of this turmoil will be on investors' minds as the media industry kicks off its earnings season this week, with Netflix up first on Wednesday. Netflix, with a new advertising model and push to stop password sharing, looks the best positioned compared with legacy media giants. Last week, for instance, Disney CEO Bob Iger extended his contract through 2026, telling the market he needed more time at the Mouse House to address the challenges before him. At the top of the list is contending with Disney's TV networks, as that part of the business appears to be in a worse state than Iger had imagined. "They may not be core to Disney," he said…. https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2023/07/17/media-industry-turmoil-strikes-streaming-losses-ad-slump.html This strike is Hollywood at a major crossroads - no need for writers just use ChatGPT to come up with a woke script and there you go. https://12ft.io/proxy?q=https%3A%2F%2Fapnews.com%2Farticle%2Factors-strike-writers-effects-pandemic-streaming-946a2bf9de48a9d55f3160df6be8f481

In a world where AI and tech you haven’t even imagined is going to eliminate countless jobs and a human desire to do…..anything……the most important thing this country can do is vote people that understand how much control and power they could have - but refuse it. These aren’t just times where a computer replaces a typewriter.

You can almost sense a “cheering on” of the death of the West in this piece: How a Vast Demographic Shift Will Reshape the World For decades, the world’s dominant powers have benefited from large working-age populations that help drive economic growth. ….The world’s demographics have already been transformed. Europe is shrinking. China is shrinking, with India, a much younger country, overtaking it this year as the world’s most populous nation. But what we’ve seen so far is just the beginning. The projections are reliable, and stark: By 2050, people age 65 and older will make up nearly 40 percent of the population in some parts of East Asia and Europe. That’s almost twice the share of older adults in Florida, America’s retirement capital. Extraordinary numbers of retirees will be dependent on a shrinking number of working-age people to support them. In all of recorded history, no country has ever been as old as these nations are expected to get. As a result, experts predict, things many wealthier countries take for granted — like pensions, retirement ages and strict immigration policies — will need overhauls to be sustainable. And today’s wealthier countries will almost inevitably make up a smaller share of global G.D.P., economists say. This is a sea change for Europe, the United States, China and other top economies, which have had some of the most working-age people in the world, adjusted for their populations. Their large work forces have helped to drive their economic growth. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2023/07/16/world/world-demographics.html One only has to look at the cost of gas, groceries, energy, and day care to know we will not be saying many families of 2 let alone 3 kids.

Where the Bills rank in spending for each position
Big Blitz replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Last season’s near skeleton crew defense showed this is the wrong approach to cap allocation. No White essentially. No Hyde. Miller missed 8 games including playoffs. Poyer was hurt and didn’t practice much. The whole D line missed time or played with injuries (Groot, Oliver). Still 13-3. Just feels like you have to expect to give up points in 2023 NFL. Hope to hold in the RZ or create enough pressure the O makes more mistakes then you. When defenses (powerhouses like Minnesota lol) did that to our offense we lost. Detroit hung around. The Bengals D finds a way to do that seemingly as good as anyone. Speaking of them, with the money we spend, why “aren’t we the Ravens???” -

She’s a lesbian. What is the L in LGBT? Why didn’t the author just call her a lesbian? -

Also - true. They’re doing it because they must have focused grouped the word and think it’s supposed to make the alleged “victim” of bigotry look more oppressed. “Gay” or lesbian doesn’t garner any response Because contrary to what leftists think the country is not full of bigots. Actual bigots in our society have been marginalized to irrelevance. -

DeSantis For President in 2024?
Big Blitz replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
“He gets results and has been a successful chief executive…..he knows all the issues…..he fights……….but his campaign sucks he isn’t Trump.” You should stay home Cerno - style is more important then substance and results now? Trump - 2 years with GOP control of DC. We got the SCOTUS. Huge absolutely. His greatest legacy. What else? Was MAGA implemented? Did we purge the Deep State? How did 2018 go? Now Trump is somehow going to be able to do these things as a lame duck president and an unknown makeup of Congress. Yea. Again, that’s reason enough alone to move on. DeSantis - razor thin win in 2018 - manages to implement most every significant MAGA policy in Florida and wins majorities in the legislature while doing so. Time to move on Cerno. If DeSantis actual resume and results aren’t good enough then no one is. And you bet your **s his Covid policies are what matters most. Never forget that. Ever. Because it reveals much more about the man then any fancy ad or slogan or tweet ever will. -

FDA approves first OTC birth control pill
Big Blitz replied to Doc's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yea I never agreed with the idea that too much nuclear family involvement is detrimental or something like that. I think grandparents and cousins being around is a net positive. Hillary Clinton may have been revealing her inner commie, but having nuclear family around doesn’t mean they’re raising your kid. Grandma and grandpa - if possible - go to your grandkids games or extracurricular activities. -
FDA approves first OTC birth control pill
Big Blitz replied to Doc's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
One right here. Personally and morally opposed to it but have no problem with it being sold OTC. I’m sure I’ll anger some on my team so let me be clear first - I truly do not see this as a negative for anyone that uses it. It’s not some indictment of bad character. It may be good for some but I overall consider it a net negative for society - it doesn’t make you a bad person for taking or using it no not at all. I truly believe there is a better way because I’ve lived it. But I’ll take my moral opposition out of it as I don’t believe I have constitutional grounds to impose those on anyone. As it should be. But I’d be glad to talk with anyone about it. I think overall it’s a net negative because unfortunately it’s lead to a devaluation of sex. Again - NOT AT ALL does that apply to everyone. It works for millions of couples and marriages. However, it’s just math. We by nature are pretty prone to making bad decisions. Tell 8 billion people you can have sex without real risk of pregnancy? And, if you’re marrying someone who’s “body count” is over - let’s say 10 - you need to reconsider that person as marriage material. IMO. Some people that number is higher or lower - I’d like society to not be that way but, it’s a free country. I think. And any perceived “moral decline” here I do believe the pill is one of several culprits - absolutely there are exceptions but it has simply not overall strengthened our relationships, marriages, and families. This isn’t a Democrat or Republican issue. The data proves it. Divorce rates shouldn’t be what they are and 20% of men over 40 shouldn’t be “never been married” if the pill is such an overall net positive. It isn’t. Just think our focus needs to be on families marriages and kids. How to be strong fathers especially.
