O’Cyrus factor. -
The Giants are a complete disaster.

Remember the Jets SB was Monday. They were never going to win this week.

Spencer Brown McD - defense adjustment after 1st drive All the RBs. Gabe Davis -
I take back any potential underestimating of the Jets D I did. I knew they were very good. They are the best D in football and it might not be close.
-
True but after motion and 7 different play fakes I’m sure Allen was thrown off

Dorsey sucks

Cook ain’t it folks. But we told you that in April.

Keep Cook off the field.

We didn’t even agree to house British troops - that contributed to a revolution - and then an amendment. -
Singular point imo when Josh started regressing

Yea. But the Bengals were 0-2 last year and Burrow didn’t practice in August either. They have a track record of being bad and figuring it out. Plus the Browns D might be elite. I did think this might be a year the defenses catch the offenses to some extent. Where elite Offenses have meh days vs good defenses. Good offenses will have bad days for mid defenses. Great to Elite defenses might give every O problems regardless of QB. We could be one of them. Staying ahead of the curve are teams that built olines and have RBs - Philly - who has the best GM in the league. KC built a great Oline and try to be somewhat balanced on O. Same the Bengals. -

Nah they all were posting and sharing the pics from that party and talk about it fondly. It’s this: Dorsey has been figured out. Davis is not evolving or becoming an elite 2. No slot WR worth a ***t. Still no real RB threat. Oline complete disaster last year. Josh got hurt. Meanwhile, around the AFC: Burrow got a great oline to go with Mixon, Chase, and Higgins. Miami got McDaniel and Hill and lots of speed - a terrible matchup for our slow safeties. The Jets built the best D in the AFC. Lawrence got Pederson, Etienne, and Ridley. Chiefs still the Chiefs. I think those teams have definitely caught the Bills and maybe passed them. And that has impacted their mindset. They know they may not have the best team anymore and can be beat whereas there was no question we were winning the division 2020-2021 and into 2022. That’s a McD and Beane issue. The players aren’t stupid. They flat out said they didn’t think they were beating the Bengals. They were beat before they took the field. Maybe they really were beaten down by the injuries last year and Hamlin. Maybe they’ve tuned out McD since 13 seconds, a questionable OC hire to appease Josh (really only explains Diggs), and then all the mystery post 13 seconds a year later the “stepping aside” of Frazier. Year 7 of McD folks. Can’t keep coming up short every year before it becomes “who’s this guy anyway” in that locker room that Reid, Saleh, McD, Pederson (we’ll see), and Taylor keep running circles around. -
I’m sorry. But if we’re at the point you’re wondering about the QB - it’s the coaches. I think McD is a great coach and I love the guy. All my instincts after 13 seconds were correct. You just don’t recover from that. And I do believe last year they were all in and got totally screwed by injuries including Josh. It’s unfortunate and that’s why we keep hearing “window this” and “window that.” Everyone knows. My personal opinions need to go out the door and face reality before my dual threat QB is suddenly 33 years old - more importantly, that you’d be dealing with a revolving door of OCs. Where if we are lighting it up, he’s getting a HC job. And we repeat. My non Bills Goggles buddies here in DC tell me constantly - you guys should have got Sean Payton. I don’t know if that was the answer. But the fact they were thinking exactly what I am and along the lines of “you need an offensive guy” they’re right.
-
I still see him going into last year as a young QB - year 5 - not a well seasoned vet. Especially a guy who was always going to take 1-2 years to get going a “project” if you will. And he did under Dabol for 3 full seasons. The last 16 games are either - he was hurt or it’s a decline. If you think it’s a decline it is on the coaches to figure it the ***k out.
-
Ben did, at many times. The other 2 are arguably the 2 best QBs ever. Who both had defensive HCs for most of their careers - it’s worth noting that maybe - maybe - Manning wins more SBs with an offensive OC or had more playoff success earlier in his career. He did lose a SB to Sean Payton. And Brady had the same one most of his career.
-
But they do. They absolutely do struggle going thru OC after OC. The elite ones have offensive guys as HC. Correlation? Herbert right now is being completely wasted. Maybe Pickett is? Maybe Zach Wilson needed that instead of Saleh. Tua has been saved by McDaniel. Kevin O’Connell is getting the most out of Cousins - and a rookie WR. Shanny. McVay. Sirianni. Reid. Taylor. Pederson. The new coaches in Indy and Carolina knowing they were getting rookie QBs - offensive guys. McCarthy in GB with Rodgers - maybe now in Dallas we’ll see.

Can we talk about Gabe Davis's performance?
Big Blitz replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dam. I read that and it just makes me sad. The only thing that’s going to salvage this O is a rookie TE or somehow Davis figures it out. I consider Harty a gadget guy. Not a steady slot WR that just dissects zone coverages and gets to the open spots like Cole did. -
Jets safeties jump the first break HARD on those routes - they have faith the pass rush is going to get home to be doing that. More double moves, another second in the pocket is needed. Also, my God. All 7 defenders immediately backing up on these (and most) plays. No fear of the run at all. And we were up 7-10 points most of the game.
