Expansion of the league is a TERRIBLE idea. The modern game of football is about QUARTERBACKS. There already aren't enough quarterbacks to go around for every team to have a legitimate chance of competing every year. Adding more teams just further dilutes the product. The NBA would be a much better product if they had 2-4 fewer teams, for example.

Because their team has no heart. Remember when the Bills had a shot at the playoffs and lost to the Steelers backups like 10 years ago to keep them out? That was a shameful day. Dolphins fans should be similarly ashamed. Their team has no discipline and their dysfunctional locker room gave us the Incognito mess. Their team has no heart, wasting their chance at the playoffs with two very lackluster and uninspired performances. Philbin is not working out, and neither is Tannehill. The Dolphins can't differentiate themselves from the lowly Jets or Bills, and are miles from challenging the Patriots.

Bills fans should feel like they have a team that has some good young and good veteran talent on both sides of the football, that they brought in a great DC, and that if they can get some consistently average to slightly above average QB play they should be able to contend for a playoff berth.

"Flutie", he says. Sheesh. Anyways, Marrone and Manuel very well may be busts. Good amount of young talent around on this team, though - and Pettine is proving he's a great coordinator. We'll see next year, Marrone's fate is likely tied to Manuel anyways. I don't love Manuel's odds based on what we've seen so far, but it's also too early to give up on him.

Two weeks in a row, they only needed to beat a divisional rival whose playoff hopes had already been extinguished. Two weeks in a row, they failed in miserable fashion. That offense looks putrid. I realize Hartline went down today, but only 7 points after getting SHUT OUT last week? For a while this season, I really believed the Dolphins had something going, despite the Incognito/Martin fiasco. Now it seems like they have nothing going there. The core of that team just doesn't have what it takes to win in this league. Really poor finish to the season - it's hard to feel like the Dolphins have much of anything to build on moving forward.

Cutler is better than Fitzpatrick. Even entertaining that debate is foolish. With that said, I don't think Cutler makes sense any sense as a Bills QB. How about Cutler to Dallas when it is confirmed that Romo's back injury is career ending, though? You heard it here first.

Pettine has been great as DC. Hackett has seemed marginal as OC but in fairness to him it's hard to do much with a QB situation like that.

Why do you keep comparing Fred Jackson to players that died an untimely early death? First you compared him to Bob Kalsu and Pat Tillman who both died in military service. Don Fleming died at 25. Piccolo died at 26. Jerome Brown made his two pro bowls before he died at 27.

i think fred is a good serviceable player and his intangibles make him a fan favorite (rightfully so everyone loves freddy!) jim richter played 14 seasons for the Bills, was under center for all four of the superbowl runs, and was selected to the pro bowl multiple times - so yes i would say he is of a higher caliber than fred

the magic answer is very simple: you need a good QB

unless you want touchdowns, pro bowls, a top 15 rusher, or to win football games

Kalsu and Tillman were honored because they left football to go serve in our nation's military and DIED in combat. Bob Kalsu has a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Pat Tillman has a Silver Star and a Purple Heart. Are you really comparing Fred Jackson to these guys? If you put Fred up on the Wall of Fame, he would be among, if not the single least productive on least decorated Bill on the wall.

well the era that produced the longest playoff drought in franchise history is naturally going to have fewer great players moulds and williams are good candidates, as are aaron schobel and brian moorman

if we didnt get maybin we would have gotten brian orakpo, larry english, or robert ayers orakpo started out strong and kinda fizzled out recently (but clearly he is way better than maybin) but english and ayers didnt really work out either so we were never getting the next bruce smith that everyone wanted

SEAHAWKS i love russell wilson what a great story and a class act pete carroll is also cool i enjoy his approach where practice and everything that happens within the team is always about healthy competition i have no issue with marshawn lynch he didnt burn bridges the way mcgahee did when he left and richard sherman is one of my favorite players in the NFL!

i have no problem with the punch that was a tough physical sloppy wet football game against a division rival and the bills basically manned up and bullied the dolphins around you shouldnt punch people but these guys are fierce competitors and its a physical game and sometimes tempers flare steve smith WR of the panthers gets into fights all the time on the field, and while fighting is wrong he has also been a fiery emotional leader at times woods doesnt seem to have any history of being a dirty player or bad person so im giving him the benefit of the doubt and i have no issue

i guess you didnt read the article but he has been retired since 2011 and now is a math teacher and high school football coach (he is donating the game check to the high school he works at)

right now Fred's career numbers over seven seasons are: 5,067 rushing yards, 27 rushing TD 2,086 rec yds, 6 rec TD he has only one 1,000 yard rushing season, zero 10 TD seasons, and zero pro bowls if the wall of fame is for greatness, on paper it looks like fred is missing the mark however, there is something about freddy - from his unlikely path to the nfl to his quiet professional demeanor to his toughness to his work ethic - there is something about freddy that sort of embodies the spirit of the try-hard buffalo bills nonetheless, to me, when i review the names on the bills wall of fame, as of right now fred jackson has not done enough to go up there are 27 people on the bills wall of fame currently one third of them are NFL hall of famers most all of the others are multi time pro bowlers as for the recent trends on the wall of fame, here are those inducted since 2000: 2012 Bill Polian 2011 Phil Hansen 2010 Booker Edgerson 2008 Bruce Smith 2007 Steve Tasker 2006 Andre Reed 2005 Thurman Thomas 2004 Jim Ritcher 2003 Darryl Talley 2002 Kent Hull 2000 George Saimes 2001 Fred Smerlas 2001 Jim Kelly you just can't put fred jackson in the same category as these players realistically - even though he is a very likable guy and fan favorite
