  1. I think some run-plugging depth on the D-line would help a lot, especially on first down and short yardage situations. The guys we bring in were obliterated. These pickups can be found in FA. I also think we need to get Moats/Bradham off the field. The defense is part of the way there with the additions made this year. Now we need to add to what we have. Unfortunetly, we may have higher priority needs on the offensive side of the ball that may not be solveable in FA.
  2. "He's got a little Steve Young in his game as well" Nice Call!!!
  3. Lets see? Have there have been any quarterbacks who remind us of Manziel who were stars in the NFL?....Doug Flutie was pretty good, once people gave him a chance....Fran Tarkenton managed to scramble around and make plays without getting killed...Roger Staubach won Super Bowls. The people who have one mind set of what a franchise QB must look like, lack imagination plain and simple. "We're not selling jeans here guys!"-Billy Beane small market GM Oakland A's.
  4. If I'm Bill O'Brien, I would have to consider Johnny Football at #1. If guys like Flutie, Tarkenton, and Staubach can do it. He can too!!
  5. I would be happy to just have special teams that don't get us beat! We had the second worst starting position on our drives in the league. Giving away about 10 yards per drive to the top teams.
  6. 1. Continue to develop EJ in the offseason and help him by adding weapons, improved offense line, the team around him. 2. Improve special teams, new coach, punter and more depth. We were next to last in starting field position. Help your young Quarterback and defense. 3. Fill in defense with a couple situational run stuffers for depth. 4. Improve the team discipline in regards to too many fumbles, bad penalties, guys who didn't put out.
  7. When a team needs to improve in almost all areas ,it is a matter of priorities, first and foremost. We need more depth plain and simple. This will help our special teams, our run defense, our quarterback ..pretty much everything. Having said that, who we take in the draft should be based on who is available at the time we draft. FA can be used to help with depth in both lines, perhaps linebacker. This team on offense has a huge need for playmakers outside. A big receiver and TE to help in the redzone where we struggled mightily is a must. You don't very often get those guys in FA.
  8. I am glad that some of you guys are not running this team. We need rational, well thought out decisions, not "knee-jerk", emotional, the "grass is always greener"ones. This is a process, not everything is going to work out and some good fortune is also needed to be successful. Having games like yesterday, and a couple others identifies to the team weaknesses to try and correct. A couple days ago many people thought our defense was perfect-obviously not the case. Personally I am encouraged by how competitive we were this season in spite of many different things (poor special teams play, rookie QB, new staff etc.). I get a different feel from this staff than the previous one. Clearly, they have a plan and need time to execute. Lets make some savvy FA pickups/trades,have another good draft, and improve the guys we have.
  9. I think they need to evaluate the film and get rid of the guys who didn't put out today. AND, there was a few who played like they were avoiding contact/injury.
  10. This guy has got to go! Special teams cost us games this year, that cannot happen. He had a poor track record to start with.
  11. "Good. Let them pick them. Get me Mike Evans and a TE in the 2nd. " I love it, a thinking man I agree with!
  12. I decided to do a little research on first round QBs drafted from 2003-12. There have been 31 taken total, of which 11 are clear hits, (Rivers, Big Ben, Eli,Rodgers,Palmer,Ryan, Cutler,Flacco, Stafford,Luck and Newton). There are 11 or 12 that are clear misses (Boller,Russell,Quinn,Leinart ,Losman,Tebow,Weeden,Gabbert,Grossman,Leftwich,Sanchez and Young). This is very much an inexact science with a lot of luck involved. Given the Bills history of being a poor draft team. Does that put the odds of success at less than 50/50? I think so if were honest. I am very much rooting for EJ, however we don't know and we need some good luck. Keep Drafting QBs, probably not in the first round in this year. But you need options to develop!
  13. Evans would be a great pick. A big competitive receiver for the Red Zone. Throw in a TE like Ebron from NC in the second round. Also, have seen Amaro from TT, and Benjamin from FSU and like them a lot. This is exactly what the Bills must do is put more weapons on the field next year!
  14. I've seen the point spread move from NE-9 to -7.5 in spite of Bills injuries. I definetly think it favors the underdog.
