Big Ed again..... Awesome. Got a bit of a break on that series as Jackson could have easily been called for illegal contact there. -

Hoping we start moving the pocket a little bit. Allen is so much better on the move. Throw in some slants as well. We never utilize them the way we should. Also, pick up the tempo a bit. Need to find a rhythm. -

That screen was messed up. Allen looks to throw it and nobody is there to catch it. And because of that, Allen's streak is over....... Can't get out of our own way once again. -

Wow....... We have to have a TD here. That was a gift. Need to start nailing that coffin shut here before the half and then finish it off coming out of it. -

Many on this board deserve a pat on the back

As much credit as Beane gets, and he does deserve some of it for sure, he never finishes the job the way he should. There have been some glaring weaknesses on this team for year that he has ignored for too long and it is coming back to bite us in perhaps the season we may have had our best chance to win the whole thing we have had, and maybe will have, for a while. This offensive line has not been good for years. While I do think we have a couple of good pieces, our Guards are absolutely awful. While we are better with Brown in the lineup for sure, he may be the only guy on the line with any physicality and nastiness to him, and no......Mongo ain't it either. Everyone else relies on finesse to win and, while fine against some teams, it becomes an issue when you play physical defensive lines. As I mentioned, I like Brown and think he will be good for us for a long time, we shouldn't be relying on a 3rd round rookie being our most physical lineman at this point. Dawkins has been off this year, but he's fine. And while we have had decent center play most of the year, it may be time to move on. Our entire interior line should be replaced, and we should already be in a better place than it is. You can say the same about our D-line. It is not physical enough and hasn't been for years. While I think Groot has a chance to be a good one, and Oliver has been much better this year, we have been missing that big, nasty space eating monster in the middle for years. And, Star isn't that and hasn't been it since he got here. If you want to play Oliver, and I actually have no problem if you do, you need an absolutely huge run stuffing beast next to him. And of course, there is always the issue we have at 2nd CB. While Wallace has been better this year, he's never been the guy we have needed opposite White. Of course there are more issues, but these have been glaring shortcomings on this team that haven't been addressed and it's just frustrating that so many of us have been onto this for a couple year now, but they have just continued to ignore it. -
I'm not sure who this guy is, or what sources he may have, but he called the Spencer Brown starting move the week it happened before anyone else had it. Now, today he says this: Vicious Sid @vicious155 4h BUMP!!! #Bills OL changes are afoot Quote Tweet Vicious Sid The tweet he was bumping/referencing was the tweet about Brown starting sooner than later. I am not sure what the changes may be this time, or if there will even be any, but he's been right on a few things before. It will be interesting to see if there are changes, if we hear about them during the week or just see them on Sunday. If I remember right, I don't thing any of the local media having Brown starting before they saw it on Sunday in warmups. Unfortunately, our options are sol limited because we just don't have good talent waiting in the wings to jump in and start. But after this week, I'm willing to try anything.

11/7/21 Gameday Bills @ Jaguars Second Half Thread
sven233 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
We all could see how obvious it was that we needed an upgrade on the offensive line at the trade deadline...... Well, obvious to everyone but the front office. More than anything else, besides injuries, the o-line will be out biggest downfall at the end f the year. That said, figure it out and beat these guys down in the 2nd half! GO BILLS! -
NFL Trade Deadline: The Bills Trade Rumors Thread
sven233 replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Really disappointed we didn't get the O-Line and #2 CB positions upgraded. Glaring needs, especially at the G position. Really hope not being able to run the ball effectively when we absolutely need to doesn't come back to bite us. Hopefully Allen can survive the season as well. He hides so many issues, but it is bound to catch up with us eventually. -

Where is all the eye candy we saw out of this offense last season? The jet action, the misdirection..... There is nothing right now giving the defense anything to think about pre or post snap. The creativity is all gone. They need to stretch the field sideline to sideline, not just vertically. Open up more of the field even if you are just using guys as decoys. -

Unless it is a Josh Allen scramble, I don't want this team calling another run play the rest of the day. It's a wasted down. -

Playcalling is terrible and the line can't run block. Not great coming off a bye. -
I never like taking wins for granted. In the NFL, anything can happen on any given Sunday. But honestly, I will be STUNNED if the Bills lose this game. Heck, even if it is close, it may be cause for a little bit of concern. The offense is averaging over 32 points a game (and, in my opinion, have not played even close to their best game yet). Against the Titans, they scored 31. So, the offense did what they do in that game. Were there missed opportunities? Yes. Should they have scored more? Yes. But the offense put up over 30 points and I don't care who we are playing, if we score over 30, even if it is a struggle to get there, we should win every time. The fact is our defense got our heads kicked in against the Titans. We couldn't stop a nosebleed. For the first time all season, this defense looked outclassed. The thing is, we have a lot of prideful guys on this defense and I know they were embarrassed by what happened last Monday. They will be coming out with something to prove on Sunday and it just so happens it is against the Dolphins. Will be shut them down completely? Probably not. But they should not score more that 17 points. So, all that said, as long as the offense continues to do what they do, we should win this one going away. Could there be some garbage time scores? Sure. But while we are out there actually playing to win, this should not be close. Bills 38, Fins 17 GO BILLS!!!

The game was lost up front on both sides of the ball. I think the coaches made a mistake from changing what was working on the defensive line by benching AJ and Boogie as we couldn't get sustained pressure up front and our O-line is still a work in progress. For the first time since he's gone in, Brown looked like a rookie and, again, as much as I like the guy, Mongo is average at best and Dawkins is still struggling to regain his form on a consistent basis. I would love for Beane to take the Bye week and try to find us an upgrade at LG on the trade market. I think as the season rolls along, Dawkins will get right and Mitch is having a pretty solid year at C. Last night may not have been his best game, but he has been really good all year. Williams is still adjusting at G, but hopefully he will be serviceable there and Brown continues to learn and get better. While he's at it, maybe Bean can get us another CB as well. Wallace has been a little better overall this season, but we can do better there as well.

Dawkins blew it..... Right decision. Right play. Bad execution.

It's a small note in this game, but we really need a better punter. This guy has been terrible all year.
