Why in the blue hell are they challenging that? Not only did he get it, but even if he was somehow short, there would be no way to see it!!!! -

The Pats are running the same exact 4-5 plays and killing our defense. It's pathetic. -

Ugh......more points left on the field. Why are they not getting Allen rolling out and giving him a pass/run option based on what he sees. Not utilizing Allen's running ability in this game is criminal. They have no problem running on 2nd and long EVERY time for 2, but can't find a way to get our best running threat an opportunity to make a play. -

Literally down 4 points to a team that has thrown the ball (badly) ONCE the entire half. Absolutely brutal on every level. If we don't come out throwing the ball and running an uptempo offense to get as much out of the wind as possible, I don't know what to tell ya. This was as poorly a coached half as we have had all season. The only reason we're in this game at all is because of a ball off the head -

I'm convinced that Bill wants to run the ball every play and win the game so he can say he beat us throwing 1 pass all night. -

OK.....seriously starting to wonder it the trust Jones at all to throw the ball whether they are with the wind or against it. The Bills need to keep pressing the issue. Let Josh start winging it because we have no run game to speak of. That last throw on the run to Knox shows that we have a huge advantage at QB tonight and we have to take advantage of it now. -

Alright.......I've seen enough to know Allen can cut it through the wind. Enough with the conservative calls. AND CATCH THE FREAKING BALL!!!! -

Pats* gonna run the ball 65 times tonight. They are going to run for 300 yards. -

Inexcusable. We aren't even 10 minutes into the game and we have been completely out-coached. Just awful coaching on both sides of the ball. -

This is insane.... We are wasting the only advantage in this game which is going with the wind. You want to run the ball do it when you don't have the wind! -

This is obviously a game you have to score just about every time you have the ball with the wind and hopefully survive on defense when the opponents have it. We are 0-1 on our opportunities so far. We need points fast. -
December 6, 2021 Gameday Bills vs. Patriots* Pregame Thread

The kickers are one thing to have to deal with tonight in the wind, but you can mask that a bit by not kicking FGs, going for it more often than not, going for 2, etc. The punters on the other hand I already feel bad for as they have less room for error, at least going into the wind. With the wind they'll be kicking 80 yarders. Against it, they will be lucky, first to even get a punt off, but even kicking it forward when they do. This game has disaster written all over it and it stinks. Look, in my younger days this may have been a fun game to be a part of. So, maybe it's getting older, softer, or both, but I am perfectly fine in front of my 75" TV with the surround sound providing the atmosphere. Don't care what all the naysayers say, but it's time to put a roof on our next stadium. We may lose the most important regular season game we have had in decades because of a fluke weather event and that will be a tough pill to swallow. -
So, here's the thing about the no huddle....... I think the game has changed so much through the years that it wouldn't be quite as effective as it was a couple decades ago. Defenses are in better shape and are much faster overall. They are also prepared much more now as to how to handle it because of so many situational practices and study. Also, coaches have figured out strategies on how to slow it down when it does begin to be effective. They'll purposely have guys fake injuries and other types of in game gamesmanship to slow it down. Coaches are also a lot more organized and better at getting substitutions in quicker than they used to be. So, the days of running it as a full time system I think are gone. Now, that is not to say I wouldn't run it more than what we do. There have been several times this season alone where I thought this team could benefit from a change of pace to try and get in a rhythm. We've done it a couple times, but I think we could use it more than we do, especially if things aren't going well on offense. I think with a QB like Allen, it would be very effective in stretches if you let Josh be Josh. What I mean is that you have to be OK with letting Josh run the ball. The advantage of a no huddle in theory is that you keep the same defensive personnel on the field and limit they types of defensive looks they can show you. So, in our case, I think you could get a big advantage at times by letting Josh make his own decisions. Not necessarily call his own plays, but be able to call his own number on any play. Get guys out in a pattern and if his first or second read isn't there and he sees a lane, encourage him to take off. He's big, strong and fast. Him throwing the ball around and taking off quickly if he doesn't see what he wants down the field could keep the defense off balance and wear on them over time and could turn into big chunks if the no huddle is used at the right times and in the right way. So, while I wouldn't want to use it as a base offense, there are definitely times I would go to it to keep teams off balance.

Patriots at Bills: Game Week Thread (v2)
sven233 replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
About 22 hours from now this place will be an absolute party or darker than a morgue. No matter what way it ends up, I don't think anyone is getting sleeping well. Not sure any of us are going to get much tonight either. It's probably a little bit of hyperbole based on the way this season has gone and the ball washing the media and their fans are giving Mac Jones and the Pats*, but even after living through two decades of getting punched in the face by Brady and the Cheats*, I am not sure I have ever wanted to beat them worse than what I want us to do to them tonight. That said, we have been let down so much in the past for so many different reasons against this team. Whether it's been our terrible rosters, terrible coaching, poor play, getting screwed by the refs and the league, all the way to them literally being caught cheating several times, it's a bit hard to believe in a positive outcome until we actually see it. We had success against them last year, but it was a weird season as a whole and they didn't have as good a team as they do now. I want to see a true changing of the guard as much as anyone here, but it's on us not to just take it, but rip it away. We'll see what the coaching staff comes up with and if the players are ready to do what's needed physically and mentally to make it happen in a big spot. There's nothing left to do but to do it. Go Bills. -
I know the poor weather hasn't worked to our advantage yet, but if the winds are up, this may be the game where we can take advantage of it a bit. Unlike a lot of the national media, I am not ready to crown Mac as the 2nd coming quite yet. I am not sure he has the arm to beat people deep and until he proves he can do that consistently, I am not going to believe it. So if the winds are up, I am stacking the box to shut down their running game and I am squatting on every route under 15 yards. I'll take my chances with forcing him to beat us over the top. If he can do that with our safeties in the wind and the cold, more power to him, but he is not beating us by dinking and dunking like he has all year. I'm not sure what our coaching staff's philosophy will be, but this is how I would do it.

It was a nice win. It's one that we absolutely should have won handily and we did. Now it's all about hoping Tre is OK and that he can get healthy soon. There's been a lot of games against the Pats* that we have all desperately wanted to win over the last couple of decades with Brady there, but with the butt kissing the media and everyone is giving to them this season, I am not sure there hasn't been one I have wanted to win more. Get healthy and find a way to beat the Pats* down on Monday night.

Bills at Saints 11/25/21 Second Half Thread

Well, the biggest thing to come out of this game is the White injury. We have to pray that it isn't that serious and that he's able to come back soon. Based on our upcoming schedule, it's about the worst time of the season that he could have gone down. It's never a good time, but the next month is going to be a bear. -

You literally have a foot to get. Take the snap and fall down. On top of that, you waste a TO??? Ugh. What happened to our aggressive nature we had last year? Ever since the playoffs started last year, the guts just haven't been there. It won't probably cost us in this game, but man.....this team needs their coach to get his swagger back. -

Love that play design. Gets Allen on the move. If the CB commits and drives inside, Allen can keep it and run for the 1st. If the CB stays home, he's put in an impossible situation because Knox has already blocked down on the line and sold that he is staying in. No way for the CB to recover in time. It really is a great play. -

Score a TD here and start figuring out a way to get this offensive line right and get healthy before the Pats* come to town. They will destroy us up front if we don't find a way to be better.
