10/14/24 Game 6 Bills at (NJ) Jets MNF 1st Half Game thread

Bass is just gone mentally. I have no idea what happened to that confident trash talking kicker we used to have, but somewhere along the way he lost it mentally. -

A real WR makes that play that Samuel screwed up on. Just saying. Luckily we have Mack Hollins? -

Allen is just on another level.... That said, we can't rely on the scramble drill being our entire offense. When are we going to get this man somebody that can make a play on schedule within the confines of the play design? It is like pulling teeth out there to get someone to win within a play design. -

Wish we had a WR like Wilson. Dude just gets open. Gotta have guys that can beat people one on one and we don't have any. And every time I see a slant pass, I cry a little because I can't remember the last time we actually ran one successfully ourselves. -

This defense needs to start blitzing. The front four are getting eaten up. They are not going to be able to get it done by themselves. Trust your corners to hold up and force Rodgers to actually move. -

Was that really good? That was real close. Oh well.....gotta answer. Defense can't stop the freaking Jets offense. -

Our defense is just too light up front, especially in the middle. I know this regime likes their small, fast linemen. And that is fine going up against 70% of the teams out there. But when we meet teams that like to pound the rock, we don't match up. It's not been our style, but we need to draft some beef to clog up the middle against these teams. We don't need them to rush....just anchor and not get blown off the ball. -

Next drive 100% should start with a play action shot..... The Jets know they got steamrolled and my guess is that you will see 1 high right off the bat. -

Hamlin is a major liability. Hopefully they figure this out sooner rather than later. -
That's the point, though. Right now, teams are conceding the 30 too much. They want more returns. So, if they make the penalty for a touch back a little harsher, they are hoping more teams put the ball in play and try to cover the kicks. Ultimately, in an ideal world, just about every kick should be returned.

Look.....Mahomes is really good for sure. But man, there are a lot of guys in this league that would have supreme success with Reid as their head coach. That's not mentioning all of the other great coaches on that staff. By far the best coached team in the league.

Watching all these games around the league with QBs throwing bombs to their fast, athletic WRs. We throw them to Mack freaking Hollins. I mean, seriously......Mack Hollins is a starting WR for us, in a Super Bowl window with an all time QB playing for us. Beane owes Allen some real talent. I'm not talking Diggs and Davis. Allen deserves better than Davis there.
-
Sure.....having the injured guys return is nice. But we're not winning anything of consequence with the WRs we have. I suppose that if you are looking for a silver lining, this all happening before the trade deadline and it becoming painfully obvious we do not have a WR1 or WR2 on this team. It will take some extreme financial gymnastics thanks to so many bad contracts on this team, but Beane HAS to do something. Him not doing anything and basically donating another year of Allen's prime is just unacceptable. Look, I don't want to trade a 2nd for Adams. I really don't. But Beane should be calling every team about every WR. We are desperate for a WR. Not only that, we are desperate for a WR with some speed that can stretch a defense.

I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better
sven233 replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
This may be one of the worst overall WR rooms we have ever fielded. Shakir is good. Maybe even a great slot WR. Coleman may turn into a good #4 WR someday. We have no WR1 or WR2. It is a bunch of replacement level players at best right now. -
Ask Brady. We saw one shot to him down the middle of the field where Allen under-threw him. The ball travels 1 more yard in the air and it's a TD. That said, without seeing the All 22, this was the only time I saw him working deep down the field. His strength is working the seams and over the intermediate to deep middle of the field. Instead they have him working sideways. In fact, this entire offense is working sideways and within 10 yards of the LOS. It's an embarrassing offensive scheme. But not having any NFL caliber WRs on the field isn't helping anything.

The play looked pretty identical. While he still needs to man up there and make that block, I am not going to push too hard on him today because he was banged up during the week and at one point it didn't even look like he was going to play. But yeah..... he needs to hold his block there.

We have idiots for coaches. We have a terrible punter and kicker. We have no talent at the skilled positions. I'm done with this current regime. They will never win anything. They never learn from their mistakes. -

We are going to lose on a FG. If they run a play, hold the guy up and pray the time runs out..... -

Gotta be real careful here. Can't play conservative with them having 3 TOs. We have a terrible punter. We need at least 1 first down to get to OT.
