  1. Make no mistake about it, we still have holes on this team. Cooper was nice, but I don't believe we have a WR2 on this team. Shakir is a nice WR3 and Coleman can probably be a nice WR4. But, ideally we need another guy to round out the group. But that is probably going to be pretty difficult to find right now. Stop me if you have heard this before, but we could use a better pass rush. Same story, different year. But, if I had my way and I could only get one thing, I would be looking for a big beefy run stuffing anchor for the middle of the defense. Our smaller, athletic guys are fine for the most part when playing against passing teams, but we constantly get blown off the ball with heavy running teams. I just want a huge space eating monster to shut down the run in the middle.
  2. Honestly, in terms of playing style, they are very similar. Both premier route runners that can create immediate separation off the line. While neither are burners, Cooper does seem to have more of a knack of being able to make the tough catches down the field with good coverage. That said, Cooper may drop a couple more balls here and there. In the end, though, I do think they are pretty close, but if you take away the constant drama that seemed to follow Diggs around, I think Allen will be happier overall with Cooper than Diggs. Talent-wise? Probably pretty close to be honest. One thing's for sure, though. Even though the slant pass has been MIA in our playbook for years, Brady needs to find it and make it a fixture of our offense. Cooper excels at it and, quite honestly, if we want Coleman to help us this year in a meaningful way, he should be seeing slants a lot too. He struggles to separate as routes extend, but with his basketball background, one thing he can do is box people out early and make something out of those quick slants. Why we haven't used them more, I will never understand.
  3. I see a lot of discussion about whether Cooper will play for us on Sunday. Sure, it will probably take a bit of time for Allen and Cooper to learn each other, but I think a lot of this will be more about chemistry than anything else. I am not sure how much it has been talked about yet, but there may be one potential advantage that we have to get Cooper up to speed quicker than normal. Although we are not fans of his around these parts, Cooper has been playing under Dorsey this year. While we might have to wait to see if Cooper says anything himself about this, I believe there is a good chance that some of the terminology he has been using under the Dorsey offense could be the same, or very similar to, the terminology we have in our offense. I know Brady worked to put his stamp on the offense and there are some new things, but I highly doubt he forced Allen and the rest of the offense that has been here running the same system for years to learn an entirely new playbook with brand new terminology that he has never used before. So, if Dorsey kept a lot of the same things he used here for the last couple years, there is a good chance that Cooper might already be familiar with at least a portion of the playbook. Throw on top of that that Cooper is a vet and been around the block a few times, I think he will pick things up pretty quickly. So, will he play Sunday? I would honestly be shocked if he doesn't if he got here today and is on the practice field all week. Maybe he won't play the full game, but I would absolutely expect to see him quite a bit.
  4. I am obviously happy with this move. It was sorely needed as we all know. But now I'm greedy. I want another one! Of course that is highly unlikely, but I would still be looking if I was Beane. If not another WR, give me a run stuffer for the middle of the defense. That is by far the other most glaring need we have.
  5. It's a great story. He's a great person and I am so happy he gets to do what he loves. But the fact is, he should not be a starter for this team. He is slow and takes terrible angles. He hesitates because you can tell he is thinking about everything and it causes him to hesitate and that gets him out of position. I have no problem with him being on the team as a depth piece. But he should not be in the starting lineup. Just not good enough.
  6. It is such a grey area. Was his arm going forward? Yes. Was he attempting a pass? Absolutely not. Supposedly, they got rid of the tuck rule several years ago. In my opinion, yes, that is absolutely a fumble. But, it is such a strange play and you know the league would never call that a fumble on a select few star QBs for sure.
  7. I am going to wait to see the All 22 before I am willing to say that. We play a ton of zone, so he may end up being the guy you see on the TV making the tackle or whatever, but I am not sure how much man to man he actually played. It may or may not have been a good game for him. The tape will go a long way towards revealing the truth on that overall, but what I do know for sure is that he had a great pass breakup in the end zone at the end of the game, though.
  8. Yes.....he made a great play there. But he showed some signs of rust at points in the game. But nobody will hold that against him. He was far from a problem. Hamiln on the other hand......
  9. Sitting here going over this game in my mind and I still have no idea what to think about it. I mean, as I said earlier, it absolutely reinforces the fact that we are in desperate need of not just a WR1, but we also need a WR2. Shakir is a good player. He we severely limited with the injury tonight, but he is a nice player who I would love as a WR3. Coleman to me will never be better than a WR4. He just can't separate. Couldn't do it in college and he will never do it against to CBs in this league consistently. That said, with all the crap that happened in this game, I still kind of feel the score was closer than it should have been. Bass missing kicks. The stupid Hail Mary that should have never happened. The terrible roughing the passer on AJ that should have ended that drive. The absolutely awful roughing call on Brown for finishing his pancake block. So many calls in big situations that definitely affected the scoring. I mean, we did get a few breaks ourselves because of how bad the refs were, but so many of the calls on us were on potential game changing plays. So yeah, in the end, I think I just want to fire this game into the sun and never think of it again. Outside of reinforcing the need for more skill players at WR, I honestly don't know that there is anything redeeming about this game. But hey.....4-2 with a 2.5 game lead in the division. I think with the schedule we had, most of us would have signed up for that before the season started. But make no mistake about it..... We are not a Super Bowl contender this season as our roster is currently constructed. The good news is that we don't need to be playing our best football now. We need to be playing our best ball at the end of the season. So, the front office, even though they will have to get creative with the cap, still has time to upgrade this WR situation and the coaching staff still has a couple months to get the brain transplants they are showing week in and week out they are in desperate need of.
  10. I have no idea what in the world I just watched..... This was an absolutely insane football game on so many levels. If nothing else, it reinforced the fact more than ever that we have like 2-3 good skill players on offense. The rest are replacement level at best. We need to get some skill players on this team ASAP. We may make the playoffs because we have Josh Allen and because of the division we are in, but we are not beating any good teams with the lack of talent we have at WR.
  11. Thank you, Brady..... That's the call we all wanted.....
  12. This game is absolutely drunk..... Time for the offensive line to earn their money. We need at least 1 first down here while forcing them to use their TOs. If it gets to 3rd and short, it would be a perfect time for a naked boot.
  13. These refs doing everything they can to screw us out of this game.
  14. He absolutely was not throwing that, but it there is no way they were going to rule that a fumble.
  15. Haven't even noticed Shakir since his last catch. Not sure how much he has even played. But yeah.....Kincaid is severely misused.
  16. Absolutely should have gone for it there. Worst case is you don't get it and the Jets have to start from their 1 or 2 yard line. Do you trust this defense to keep the Jets off the board for the rest of the game? Because I don't.....
  17. When Mack Hollins is your go-to WR in crucial situations, you have a serious talent issue.
  18. Go for it.....I don't trust Bass or this defense.
  19. Nobody can win off the line........
  20. I just can't anymore...... ENOUGH IS ENOUGH...... This team is falling apart at the seams and most of it is on coaching and the front office for not putting a good, prepared, and disciplined team on the field. This entire organization is looking inept. I'm beginning to think Diggs was right all along.
  21. We are the worst screen team of all time. We can't run them. We can't stop them..... Unreal....
