Well, it looks as though the Bates hiring is far from a done deal. With that being said, I would be a HUGE fan of bringing in Mike Singletary for the job. He is not only one of the best LBs of all time, but one of the best players in the entire NFL ever! PERIOD. He knows defense and what it takes to be successful. He is a great teacher as well. I don't know how many of you guys saw the piece yesterday on the NFL Network where he was coaching at the Senior Bowl, but it was a great illustration of his coaching technique and his ability to teach. He is a great coach. I think if given a chance, he can not only be a fantastic DC in this league, but he may turn out to be a FANTASTIC Head Coach in this League someday! I say forget Bates and bring in Singletary!

You have to remember that some of these coaches would not even be here if it were not for Jauron. Jauron has a ton of respect around the league and most coaches view it as an honor to work with him. If Jauron were not here, who knows if these other coaches even come in here. I mean look at Mangini....Un known and has not earned the same respect. Not only can't he hire a new staff, but all of the current staff wants out! It is impossible to know if Jauron will turn out to be a great coach, but one thing is for sure.....the respect that Jauron has around the league has been paying immediate dividends in hiring a quailty staff. If Bates does end up coming in.......well, I guess you would have to say he has been a great hire for us so far.

As much as I want BRICK, he will not be there at 8. He is just too talented not to be a top 5 pick. Even if the teams that are slotted in there right now don't take him, someone may move up in the draft to get him. There is like a .0000000001% chance that he is there. If he is and we do select him, I will be doing backflips, but I just don't see him getting to our spot.

I don't have any problems with Gallery. But DA BRICK is on another level.....at least when it comes to pass protection. Run blocking is average, but the guy is a wall over there at LT. I have never seen a guy even close to getting by him let alone beating him. His pass blocking skills are just unbelievable.

He is much better than Gallery. It isn't even close. This is the best LT coming out since Bosellie (sp?). This guy will be a STUD at LT for many years to come.

I know Lofton has been the WR coach in SD, but I wish I knew more about his coaching tenure.......I wonder what kind of offense he would run. I believe that Caldwell might be a good choice. I don't know what is philosophy would be and I don't know if we have the talent to run what he may want to do. Would definately be interesting though.

The pickings are getting pretty slim out there. Out of the guys that might be available, who do you guys want to see in here?

This is the guy I have wanted all along. What the guy lacks in size, ha makes up for in technique...... The guy will be a franchise OT in this league for years to come. That being said, we have NO chance at him! He will probably be a TOP 5 pick. Unfortunately for us, we are not choosing in the top 5. That win at Cinci really cost us a lot more than it helped us.

I know it doen't really mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things, but I still find it great. Loved the coverage on NFL Network last year and I am really looking forward to it this year. I was just curious how many of you out there are planning on really watching it (IN DEAPTH) like I do and find it interesting.

I can't argue about the ticket prices. Compared to the other franchises, we are very lucky. Plus, there is nothing like being at the stadium on gameday!

I wouldn't mind Backus at all. He is a quality LT. The only thing I might suggest is that we try to do better at LG. Gandy played pretty well this year and might be good at LG. Also, I'd like to see us get DA BRICK if possible (long shot, but would be very good). But I like the idea of Bentley.......That is the 1 guy I have targeted for FA this year. That would be a MAJOR upgrade. The O-LINE is the KEY to building a successful team.

I knew this would happen......and I am glad that I was right. I told you that if you just listen tot he guy and not jump to conclusions, you would actually want to give him a chance. I admit, he wasn't my first choice, but that is OK. It is not the end of the world and surprise, we might even get better!!!! Wasn't it nice to actually listen to a guy that could formulate a sentence without having to think about it? The man actually spoke in complete sentences and he was easy to understand!!! We haven't had that here in 9 years since Levy was coach! Everyone needs to relax a bit, take a step back, and give the guy a chance to succeed. Don't run him out of town before his first day on the job is over. Give the guy a chance and you just may be surprised!

Yeah, thought that was funny......Russo said late breaking news from One Bills Drive: Said there was a PC scheduled for tomorrow afternoon and that the Bills didn't say what for. That is what he said.......yeah......really late breaking. I'm trying to find a time, but no luck yet. If someone comes accross it, I'd appreciate the help!

I will be the first to go on record and say that Jauron will be a VERY good coach here. I have been doing a lot of research on him and finding out as much as I can on him and while he does have a less than perfect record, I really think he will be a good coach here. It will all start with a good coaching staff. And, I am ver confident that if he selects a GREAT OC, he will be ver successful here and will prove to be a good coach. I know that he is not the popular choice here, but I really believe that starting with the PC when he is introduced, you will see some people start to change their minds about him when they hear him speak about his coaching philosophy. Granted, there will still be those that want to run him out of town on a rail before he ever coaches a game here, but it is what it is. I'm telling all of you right now that this guy will surprise a lot of people. I just hope more people just give him a chance. If he doesn't succeed, well, then we will move on. But, don't run this guy out of town before he even officially accepts the job and actually works here for a bit! That just doesn't make sense. I know that there is this preception around here that there is a RIGHT and WRONG answer for the head coach here. Well, that is simply impossible to know before the guy even coaches a game here. So, if Jauron wasn't your first choice (not sure he was mine either), don't just give up and act like the world is over. Give the guy a chance and you might be surprised! So, once again, I will be the first to say that Jauron will WIN here and will be successfull!!! Now, who's with me?????!!!!!!!

To correct people on this........here is how the salary for Sherman would have worked. GB would have had to pay the difference between whatever the Bills were paying for him and the 3.25 mill he was making in his GB contract over the next 2 seasons until that contract expired. For example, if he were to continue to make the 3.25 mill and the Bills were to pick up 1 mill of that, GB would have been on the hook for the other 2.5. This topic was actually reported over the last couple days saying that it would help Sherman's case for the job because actually he would have been the CHEAPER way out for the Bills. So, actually, the Bills will spend more on Jauron than they would have Sherman. The Bills' did not take the cheap way out this time. They actually spent more money to get Jauron!

It's funny.......the guy hasn't even had his PC yet and he is already being run out of town! Give the guy a chance! This guys is good. Better than what his record shows. I predict now that people will be giving the guy a chance after they here him at the PC. He is a great speaker and knows his stuff. Once they hear his philosophy, I think people might come around a little! Please just give the guy a chance.

I said in my other posts that this board would just be lit on fire when Jauron was named coach. I know he wasn't the popular choice here. In fact, he wasn't my choice either.......however, we have to give him a chance!!! Let him actually coach here first before you run the guy out of town!!! I have a good feeling about this for some strange reason. If he hires a great OC, we will be IN GREAT SHAPE!. This guy knows DEFENSE!!!!! He is VERY GOOD ON DEFENSE. So, let's give the guy a chance here. Let him hire a staff and we'll take it from there. But don't run him out of town before he even has his PC!!! We are all Bills fans here. We have to trust Marv and what he believes is best for the organization! If this is what he believes is best for the organization at this point, then let's give it a chance. I have heard A LOT of very credible football people say that Jauron will win a Superbowl. If that is the case, then I am glad he is here. Also, a lot of players who have played under him have said that he got a raw deal in Chicago. He was Coach of the Year!! He was also a runner up for the same award the year he was let go! So, let's just give the guy a chance. I will at least. GO BILLS!
