WOW...Houston fans really don't know anything.....
sven233 replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great point! -
I just went over to the Houston Texans message board to see what information they might be hearing and I couldn't believe what I was reading. They were saying that the Houston shouldn't give up anyhting more than a 5th or 6th for Moulds because the Bills were going to be FORCED to cut Moulds because if they didn't, the Bills would be OVER THE CAP!!!!!!!!! HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!! They said that if we didn't cut Moulds we would be 3 Million over! They said that our Cap space, currently 9 million under, did not include Moulds' contract! They said we haven't paid him yet and that if he isn't cut, we will then have to add the 12 Million cap number that Moulds would have to our current Cap!!!! I couldn't believe it! There was one Bills fan over there trying to correct them and tell them that Moulds number is already included into the Bills Cap, since he is already under contract, and we would save 5 Mill or so by trading him wich would bring our number to 14 million under or so. Well, the Houston fans didn't want to hear that. They think that we have to get rid of him one way or another. While that may be true, it is not because of our cap situation. We have pleanty of money to keep him at his current contract if necessary. If we have to get rid of him it is because he will be a cancer in the lockerroom and will be nothing but a distraction. I just couldn't believe that they couldn't understand it. The Bills fan actually provided them with a link to the explanation and they didn't want to believe it. Oh well....... I know this post wasn't really flooded with content, but I did find it funny. One thing I did find interesting is that the Bills now seem to be going for one of Houston's 3rd round picks.......they have 2 for those not aware. If they end up with a 3rd, I will actually feel that this was a fair trade. I think Moulds is better than a 4rth........I thought all along that a 3rd would be fair. We'll see what happens!

Is Winston Justice the best pick for us at #8?
sven233 replied to HarkinBanks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everyone here knows that I a a BRICK fan, but I have to say that the gap between BRICK and Justice is not as big as a lot of people have made it. I like Justice a lot and if he can make the switch over to LT, then I give him a good chance at success. With that said, BRICK is still the best LT in this draft. However, if he is gone by 8, which I am sure he will be, Justice might be a good pick here. I like that pick a lot better than Ngata or Bunkley at this spot. Everett is coming back and will be a very good TE, so Davis, as much as I think is a game changer, is not the pick here either. Now, I do like Huff as well and I think that he may be a possibility simply because we are playing a Cover 2 Scheme now and you need that kind of talent in the SS position. So, here is how I am seeing it break down right now: IF DA BRICK and Super Mario are gone at 8, I think our pick comes down to Justice or Huff. -
bills should move up to #2 and draft dbrick
sven233 replied to valle7878's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Those who follow my posts know that I am very high on DA BRICK! He is the guy I have wanted all along and it seems like I have tried to find every excuse for him to fall to 8. It just isn't going to happen. And with New Orleans getting DB, there is a VERY high possibility that he is there guy at 2. Any way you slice it, he doesn't get out of the top 5. It won't happen. With that said, I am in support of seeing what I can do about getting to 2. I am not willing to part with everything, but I would definately check into it and see what they would want. Just won't happen though. I don't see the Bills trading up. -
A little draft research for everyone...
sven233 replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was not necessarily saying that I hope the Bills definately end up with a Superstar. It would be nice. I was simply pointing out the fact that other teams with the first pick on the second day have "missed" after revaluating the players that were still on the board when Day 2 began. It is not easy to pick a 4th rounder. Very difficult. I just hope that if the Bills do end up with this opportunity that they can step up and make a great pick! -
Well, with all this speculation about us getting 4th round compensation (the first pick on the second day of the draft), I thought I would take a little trip back in time to look at how other teams have done with the first pick on the second day. We all know there are star players drafted in the 4th round in the past, but how have teams done with the first pick? Even though several talented players slip through the cracks on the first day, in the last 10 years teams have not faired real well with the first pick on the second day. PICK # TEAM PLAYER POSITION SCHOOL 2005 102 Philadelphia Sean Considine SS Iowa 2004 97 N.Y. Giants Reggie Torbor OLB Auburn 2003 98 Cincinnati Dennis Weathersby CB Oregon State 2002 99 Houston Jonathan Wells RB Ohio State 2001 96 New England Kenyatta Jones T South Florida 2000 95 Cleveland Lewis Sanders CB Maryland 1999 96 Indianapolis Paul Miranda CB Central Florida 1998 93 Indianapolis Steve McKinney C Texas A&M 1997 97 New England Damon Denson G Michigan 1996 96 Tampa Bay Jason Odom T Florida If the Bills do end up with this pick, I hope they fair better than these teams! There were many stars drafted in the 4th round of these drafts, but these guys wouldn't qualify for "star" status. I know, this doesn't mean much, but I thought it might interest some people out there!

Teams are inquiring about Green Bay's #5 pick.
sven233 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here is the thing though........I don't see Williams being there at 5 anymore. I really see the Saints a a great candidate to land Williams. From what I am hearing and reading, Williams and DA BRICK are the 2 guys that they are going to choose between. But they reall need help on defense. However, I could see DA BRICK heading there as well now that they have DB. I guess what I am trying to say is that there is a VERY good chance of Super Mario already being off the board by 5. The Jets would also look at him at 4. With all the recent developments with the top teams in the draft, things are not shaping up like they were 3 or 4 weeks ago. A lot of the top teams have addressed their needs in other ways and are now looking in a different direction. It will be interesting to say the least! -
**UPDATE** Jeff Morrison from WGR just stated he talked to the Bills and Moulds' agent and they bot DENY all the reports. They did tell him that there are serious negotiations going to between both the Bills and Texans and the Bills and Philidelphia. But there has not been a trade yet! 5:15 PM
-
Come on.......don't do this....not there will be 100 threads about us trading for Joe Horn or something. Just to clarify for those who may not get it, WGR reported that Mourlds was NOT traded yet to Houston or anybody despite the current reports from Houston that a deal was done.
-
per WGR....... WGR's Jeff Morrison just reported at 4:36 that NO deal has taken place......and there are no talks going on right now. Who knows what is going on.......

Looks Like Marv is trying to rebuild via the draft
sven233 replied to SouthTownBills51's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All I can say that if Nall is our starter this year.....or Holcolmb......we will not win 5 games. It would be tough to win 5 games anyways, and I am not saying Losman is the answer either, but our QB situation might be the worst in the league if Losman is traded...... -
If push came to shove, I would make that deal....... However, I think that Moulds and a 4th this year would be more fair. Maybe even one of the thirds we have. But, if we could trade an older guy that doesn't want to be here and a couple of mid round draft choices for an up and coming star, I would do it. However, that is dependent on getting a good contract worked out with Walker. He will be going into the last year of his deal. You can't let him walk for nothing at the end of the season. There better be a solid 4 or 5 year deal signed with Walker first. If that happens, I'd make the deal (as long as Walker is cleared medically. I am not sure on his recovery).

OT - Sabres are getting jobbed by the refs again!
sven233 replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The fact that the ref was standing RIGHT THERE OVER THE PUCK should have been enough! Why even review it when the ref is standing there with a clear view of the puck across the line!!!! The ref should have just told the guys in Toronto that he saw the puck in the net, thus signaled a goal! How can the ref that definitively signaled goal all of a sudden take it away? Makes now sense and the Sabres get screwed again........ -

sven233 replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like I said, I think we have been outplaying them for most of the game......and if that GOAL actually counts, we have all the momentum on our side and maybe we start another winning streak with this game instead of dropping our fourth straight. I'm not saying that the Sabres are great, but a win tonight could have been a huge change for this team and got us going again. Granted, the things that have been going our way haven't been the last 4 games, but I don't want to hear that this team isn't good....or even as good as we thought they were. This team, before our recent skid had the best record in the entire league over the last 50 games!!!! You can't fake a 50 game stretch! This team is good....maybe not the best in the league, but they are good. This was a game that would have got us right back in the race for the Eastern Conferance. When a team is struggling, you can't take away goals that should count. That was a game changer...... -

sven233 replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The thing is, that changed the WHOLE game around! I think we have been outplaying them most of the game and we get the gols to tie it, two unanswered and we are rolling. They take the GOAL away and that just changes everything.... What a bunch of crap. -
We still need to address the O-Line in front of him or it will be much of the same as we got last year. The O-line is what makes good RBs, GREAT!
-
I don't want to hear anythking about "happy feet." Have you ever watch Peyton Manning? He has the "happiest feet" in the history of the NFL!! He does a TWO-STEP every time he drops back to pass! He looks like a 3 year old in need of a bathroom! Granted, Losman is not perfect. Far from it. But using "happy feet" as an excuse for poor play after watching guys like Manning dancing back there is not good. I am not saying that JP is Manning, I am just saying that "happy feet" will not make or break a QB. And as for the "rag arm" comment........that has to be the worst argument EVER against Losman. Losman has his faults, but his arm strength is definately NOT one of them. He may not be the most accurate guy in the world, but it is definately not due to lack of arm strength......In fact, he may throw the ball TOO HARD at times which gets him in trouble. You might have Losman's arm confused with that other QB on our team that can't throw the ball over 3 yards 98% of the time. There are a lot of knocks against Losman, but these 2 you bring up are the least of the problems.......and may not be problems at all!
-
per V-Coach. Started 9 games at center for Minnesota in 2005. Sounds like more depth to me.
-
per NFL network.....
-
I'm sorry, but I can find a rookie out there somewhere that can give me what Josh Reed does and more and I can pick him up dirt cheap. Any receiver can drop ball after ball and run a 4.8. No matter how "cap friendly" the contract is, I could find the same production, much cheaper.
-
For a guy that I wanted out of the organization, he certainly got paid like a star..... Yet, we can't pay Bentley 6 Mill a year or Pickett 4 Mill......Where our REAL needs are. Let's review. We now have a backup TE making 2 Mill, A 5th WR making 2 Mill, and we haven't even looked at the real problem on this team which is OL. I have no clue as to what they are smoking over there. Ricky Williams must have come in for a secret visit. This is pure crap that they are doing over there.
-
Well, it is just that there has to be 4-6 posts on the FRONT PAGE of the newsboard discussing this. Pretty hard to miss if you just take the time to look!

In what seems to be more BREAKING NEWS, there is early word out of Miami that they have traded for Culpepper! Fast and furious I tell ya!
