First off, you guys are more than welcome for the report. Happy to do it. I know sometimes reading the media reports you get guys that just like to tell you what they think about things trying to prove their right about something without actually watching practice. So, if just having us fans that know what they are looking for and are just trying to be objective do something like this helps, I a more than happy to. As for the "dropsies", there were definitely plays that could have been made that weren't. There were a few occasions that balls should have been caught but weren't. I don't put as much stock in it because Johnson and Nelson weren't practicing. Those are probably your 2 best receivers. Chandler was catching everything thrown his way and it looks like he will be even a bigger part of the offense than he was last year. Actually excited about the TE position. The "dropsies" that seem to come up are being made mostly by guys that either won't make the team or won't have a big role in the offense. TJ looked pretty good as well. So, when it is all said in done, I think the WRs will be fine. I don't think the drops will be a concern once we get our real WRs out there.

Hey everyone. I haven't done this in a while, but I went to Training Camp today for the first time this year and wanted to share some quick observations. I won't get too in depth because you can find a lot of other reports out there with all the details, but I thought I would share a couple of quick thoughts: - It was extremely warm out there today. I know it was in the mid 90s officially today, so it was definitely into the triple digits on the field. There was a slight breeze, but still very warm. - I have been so excited for football season to get here. I always am. I know I am one of the few that just love everything...every part of the season and off-season. I love the Preseason!!!! Yeah...that's right... I love watching the young guys and the competition for jobs. I can't get enough. But with that said, I haven't been this ready for football to get here in a very long time. This defense had me excited just on paper. Now, seeing this d-line in person......let's just say that things look a bit different. - While I am not going to go into the details of every play, let me just offer a few things in general. Fitz looked pretty good out there. He was decisive and went to the right place with the ball most of the time. He did have a couple throws that were brutal, but for the most part, he looked sharp. - As good as Fitz looked, out back-ups...not so much. Thigpen had the back-up reps today with VY getting the 3rd team reps. While both had a few nice throws, they were as bad as have been reported for the most part. - Fred Jackson was given the day off (at least from team work) so Spiller and Choice got a majority of the reps. Not worried about the RB position. - Stevie Johnson was also given the day off, so it was interesting to watch the other guys work. With Nelson also out again, a lot of the other guys had a chance to shine. Hagan looked like the best of the bunch today. Had a nice TD in front of Gilmore on a great back-shoulder throw by Fitz. Impossible to defend that throw when done right. Jones was OK. He was what he has been. Easley has everything you want in a WR.....size, speed....you name it. Remains to be seen if he can take the physical gifts and turn them into something. - Now.....onto the defense. This is where things start to get exciting. Let's just say that our new D-Line almost has to be seen in person to appreciate the size, speed and athleticism they have. It has been a long time since I have seen a Bills line look like this. Williams, Dareus, Williams, and Anderson.....I CAN'T FREAKING WAIT. - Mario Williams.....We haven't had a guy like this on our D-line in years. Since Bruce. He is an animal. The line looks completely different just looking at them lining up with him at LE. He swapped sides a few times today, so I would expect him to be moved around a little bit this year. - Dareus......MARK MY WORDS RIGHT NOW. Dareus is going to be the best player we have on our D-Line this year. His stats may not say it because of the position he plays, but this guy will be un-blockable at times this year. Playing with this front 4, he will be dominant this year. - Kyle Williams....Had a great day today. Had his leg wrapped, but regardless......he was a force today. In the backfield a lot. - Mark Anderson....His first step is lightning fast. Don't be surprised if his stats look great this year. With teams having to focus on the other 3 guys, he will have a lot of 1 on 1 opportunities. He will make some plays. - Shawne Merriman......Well, here we go. I have to be very careful here. It would be very easy to get ahead of myself here. What can I say right now....he looks great. And I'm not just saying that. He really looked great. He looked a like a completely different player out there than what we saw for 6 games last year. He had burst off the edge, showed great speed and power. It was almost strange to see. He looked like he could really impact this defense this year. I am actually very excited to see how he looks in game action. Whether or not he will stay healthy is anyone's guess, but he looked great today. Couldn't believe it at times. - Gilmore....Up and down day today. Had a pick-6. Got beat by Hagan a couple times. You can definitely see the talent this kid has. He will be special and is far and away our best CB. - Speaking of CBs.....if McGee makes this team I will be stunned. He has definitely hit the wall. Looks slow in the drills and was getting beat by the 2nd team. Not only that, but after every play, he would almost limp back to the huddle with his head down. I know he restructurer his contract, but with the money he is making, I just don't see how he is worth keeping unless they want that Vet presence back there. There is a lot more I could get into, but I am sure most have heard it or seen it in other reports. But there are a couple more notes I have to make. - Brian Moorman hit the biggest punt I have ever seen in my life today. Standing at about his own 20 or so, he booted a punt that went through the opposite endzone......IN THE FREAKING AIR!!!!!!!!! Doing the math, the put traded about 85 yards IN THE AIR!!!!! He was with a slight breeze, but still. It was unreal. - There is a completely different vibe at camp. Everyone is competing. Yeah, most guys probably hate practicing, but one of the coolest things I saw today was after a first team rep. Mario Williams was out on the field and was supposed to come off for Mark Anderson (who was on the 1st team today, but had the previous rep off). Well, Mario didn't want to come off the field when Anderson came running to the field to sub in. Well, after a short discussion, they actually played ROCK-PAPER-SCISSORS to see who would get to stay on and take the next rep. Anderson won the game and took the rep, but I thought that was really cool that both guys WANTED TO BE ON THE FIELD FOR PRACTICE!!!! In 100 degree heat on top of that!!!! It was pretty cool. Everyone wants to compete. Even the top guys want every rep they can. So, to sum up the day, it was a solid day of practice for the team. Both sides of the ball had their moments, but I can't wait to see this defense go live and get after someone. It is going to be something special to see. If this team can stay healthy, I'm telling you.....WATCH OUT. This is a different football team. The D-Line is gonna be dominant. If the offense can score enough points, this team will play with anyone. They don't have to score 30 points a game. They just have to be solid and we will be in the mix this year with a chance to do something special. I did take some photos of camp today. If anyone wants to check them out, they can be seen here in my Facebook album: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.4468724685658.2178138.1516074644&type=1&l=5938c3c8b8 LET'S GO BILLS!!!!

If he is back anywhere close to where he was 3 or 4 years ago, and stays healthy, this defense could be special. Personally, I want to be optimistic about it just because of the possibilities he would present for us.

RD 2, Pick #41: OT Cordy Glenn - Georgia
sven233 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For all of you that don't like the pick, remember 1 thing....... He is going to be practicing against the guys on our new D-Line every day in practice. He won't see much better talent, if at all, during the season. So, while a bit raw yet, he will get his lessons every day in practice against our line. He'll be fine! SOLID PICK at this point in the draft!!!! -

Mario Williams: Officially a Buffalo Bill
sven233 replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey. I know the news broke a bit ago, but if anyone is interested, here is the video of Mario Williams at at the airport with Paul Peck. Mario Williams at the Buffalo Airport I don't know about anyone else, but I loved the tone of the interview even though there was no confirmation of a signing. But him saying that he isn't leaving and that the visit isn't over.....GOOD SIGN. -
Who is Patrick Moran? Supposedly major news.
sven233 replied to bbb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is being reported that he is there at practice. He isn't participating, but he is there. My guess is that if this speculation was true and this so-called "major news" had anything to do with all of this speculation, he wouldn't be out there on the field, practicing or not. This Moran guy has never been right about anything, so expect nothing today. If there is something, I don't thing it will be in regards to SM since he is there at practice. -
This new rule is crap. We will be lucky to see 1 kickoff return a game. I mean, these aren't even close.......every kick is just about going through the endzone. BORING...... That is all.

OK.......Look....I know Evans is not the best WR in the world. In fact, at this point in his career, he is probably a #2 (some would argue that he always has been). But if the Bills trade him, they better get a starter back, preferably on the OL. It isn't like his contract is breaking the bank this year. It isn't like he is a cancer in the locker room. It isn't like he is a washed up, over the hill vet. He is still a solid receiver and a player that makes us better with him on the team than not on the team. If he is traded and we only get a late round pick or whatever, what does this tell the players on the team? Oh.....well, we aren't good enough to win anyway, so lets hope a 6th round pick next year makes us better......REALLY?? That is what you are basically telling every player on the team. Not a positive mindset going into the season, that's for sure. Would I trade him for a starting RT? Of course. Would I trade him for a 1st or 2nd round pick? Of course. But neither of those are probably going to happen. So how does trading Lee Evans for a 6th round pick make this team better? This better not happen. I know the Bills probably won't be very good this year. But I do think they will be better than last year and the fact is, if you trade him for virtually nothing, you are telling your players that we know we can't win anyway.......may as well save some money. Not fair to the players on this team that are going to go out and give this team everything they have. But hey.....maybe they can parlay that extra late round pick into Andrew Luck.....right....

I am going through football withdrawals right now. The off-season is so long......especially this year with all the crap going on. So, I decided to watch my Buffalo Bills in.......... The 1990 AFC Championship Game against the Raiders.......51-3!!!! This is perhaps the best we have ever felt as Bills fans. Probably the highest point in our storied history. What an amazing team we had. Just dominant. We long for these days now, but I have to say, for the first time in years, I actually am gaining that hope again. I really like the way this team is being put together. Now, we still have a ton of holes to fill, and in some very key places, but I like the direction. One thing I did notice watching this game again is just how great our fans really are. Granted, the stadium holds about 6,000 less today than it did during this time, but man, we brought it as a fan base. LOUD!!!!! It is a real reminder of why teams HATED to play us here. Unfortunately, those days seem to be a distant memory. Sure, when we go to games today, it is loud at times, but it just isn't like it used to be. Rich Stadium used to shake..... Of course, that has a lot to do with the team on the field. They haven't given us much to get excited or loud about in the last decade. I just can't wait for the day where we are actually a Playoff team again because I know that when that does happen, we will prove once again why we have the best fans in the NFL. We have supported this team through a decade of disaster. Just imagine what it will be like when we actually start winning again. Winning cures everything. THIS IS OUR TIME TO TURN THINGS AROUND!!!! LET'S GO BUFFALO!!!!!!

Anyone Else Hear Jerry Sullivan on WGR Monday?
sven233 replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure what it means. All that I know is that the way it was worded, Nix said that he COULD NOT tell us who they would draft without knowing who the first 2 picks are but he COULD tell us who the pick is if neither of the first 2 picks are a QB. This could be interpreted in a couple ways, but if you look at this comment at face value, it looks like they would be leaning towards QB at 3 if neither the first 2 picks are a QB. Don't really like this. Honestly, I would love to see Green, Newton, or Peterson go in the first 2 pick leaving Dareus sitting right there for us to plug in immediately for the next 10 years. -
I know it is just Sullivan, but he made an interesting comment when he was on the radio Monday. During his time, he brought up the Draft Luncheon that they had several days ago. He mentioned that after the main interview with Nix, that he talked to him and expounded on a question that was asked during the presser. During the interview, a question was answered by Nix stating something along the lines that they could tell you exactly who they are picking providing that they were guaranteed to know who the first 2 picks were. He said that since they couldn't tell you who was going in the first 2 picks, that they couldn't tell you who they were taking. At the time, this answer was pretty much left alone. However, this is where Sullivan's comment got interesting. Sullivan mentioned that after the presser was over, they took that comment a little further. Jerry said it was asked of Nix that while Nix couldn't say they were taking without knowing who the first 2 picks are, they asked him if he could tell them who they would take if they knew that the first 2 picks did not contain a QB and Nix reportedly said YES!!! Now, to me, that means 1 thing. They will take a QB at #3 if neither one is taken in the first 2 picks. There really is no other way to spin that answer. Just thought that was kind of interesting. Sure, it could be a smokescreen. We all know that most info coming out of any team right now is a bunch of crap, but I thought that was interesting anyway. Personally I am hoping that some way.......somehow......Dareus falls into our laps at 3. I know it isn't likely, but that would be ideal!

Adam Schefter: Denver is taking Miller at 2
sven233 replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This would be the best possible thing that could happen to Buffalo!!!!!! I would LOVE this!!!! -
Well, the fact is, this is everything the NFL wants in the Toronto game. They get an interesting opponent that people will want to see, yet is still not terrible for the Bills when it comes to competition purposes as it is not an AFC East team.....or AFC team for that matter that would be taken away from a REAL Buffalo home game. If they have to continue with this crap, they might as well keep taking NFC games. I still say this Toronto thing has to go and go now.....complete garbage. We definitely need an owner like Pegula to buy this team as son as possible. Just hope the Bills are as blessed as the Sabres are someday and actually get an owner that desperately cares about only winning.

If you want to tell all of your players to lose next year, you have no business being in the league. I agree that Luck would be the best thing to ever happen to this franchise and would put us in the best possible position going forward, but losing every game next year is not the way to go about it. Now, there really is no best way to get Luck on this team, but if you have to have him, I would rather pull a "Ricky Williams" type trade in the Draft next year and give up our entire Draft to get him if the team at #1 would go for it. While this isn't great, I would definitely do it providing Ralph is willing to spend some money. What I would do is Draft Defense this season and try to get that side of the ball as solidified as possible. Then, keeping in mind I will not have a Draft next year, Ralph would have to open the pocket book BIG TIME in FA next year and buy some good players instead of drafting them. So, perhaps the best chance of getting Luck next year would be to Trade the entire draft next year for the #1 pick (providing the team at #1 is willing) and then just sign the best possible FA's you can get at need positions, whatever they may be next year to compensate for not having a draft. Is this the best way to go about it? I don't know. I do think Luck is that good, so if you want to get him, you will have to get to #1 somehow. Would be interesting if it did happen.

Is Anyone Just Curious To See What Would Happen?
sven233 posted a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know.....it's another Newton thread. But I want to come at this from a different angle. THis is not really about Newton as a player or a person at all. This is about the Bills organization and their thought process. So, forget about the player himself and answer this question: Is anyone else just a little curious to see what would happen if Cam Newton was on the board at #3? Let me preface this by stating that I am neither for or against the Buffalo Bills drafting Cam Newton. Needless to say, he is a very polorizing player in this draft much as Tebow was year. Now, last year, I wasn't a huge TeBow guy to say the least. After watching a lot of him, I wasn't convinced he would ever be a top Pro QB because of his mechanics. No matter how hard he worked to change his throwing motion, I thought he would eventually revert back to his bad mechanics that he used all his life. By the end of last season when he was playing, you could already see glimpses of that. Now, I am not saying he will never overcome that, but at the time last year, I just didn't want to take the chance on him. This brings us to this year. Another draft, another player that seems to be splitting fans, media, and experts down the middle......Cam Newton. Now, this year, the questions are slightly different. Newtons mechanics (at least throwing the ball) are very sound. He does have issues with his footwork and he does come from another spread offense. So, there are some questions physically, but not nearly as many as most had about Tebow. However, there are still a ton of quesitions that I, and many others have about Newton. Is his head on straight? Are there character concerns? Can he actually read a defense? There are more, but obviously we already know what they are. So, my question is.......Is anyone out there, whether for or against Newton, just curious to see what would happen if Newton is there on the board at 3? Obviously, I can't work the guy out myself, so I will never be able to accurately get the answers I want before the draft. However, the team will. At this point, I actually trust Nix and Gailey to make a good decision on Newton and know what he is all about. I guess I am just curious to know how much they really like Newton. I would love for him to be there at 3 just to find out the answer to that question. If he goes first overall, we will never know the answer to this question. The fact is, if Newton is there at 3, we will definitely have an opportunity to learn A LOT about this staff and this front office whether they take him or not. At this point, I am just as interested as to if they would take Newton if given the chance as to find out who they will take in the end. Again, I am not saying I am either for or against Newton. I just don't have enough info because the offense he ran will be so different than the one he would run here. Not sure he can handle it mentally or not. It would be interesting to find out if the Bills think he could do it though. I just think we could learn a lot about Nix and Gailey if Newton is on the board when we are up and whether they take him or not. This angle is just as interesting to me as finding out who we will end up taking. -
Different sports.......LOVE THEM BOTH!!!!! Eat, sleep, and breathe both teams. Don't have to choose. Totally different animals. Plenty of love to go around here!

Can I watch ESPN3.com with Time Warner Roadrunner only? I don't have Time Warner Cable, just their internet. I read online in a lot of cases that you have to have a Time Warner Cable TV package with ESPN in order to access it and that Roadrunner-only customers are out of luck. Please help!

Per Twitter: @ProFootballTalk The Bills have released Marcus Stroud, per league source.
