Wow.....what a kick!
-
Man.....KB is a beast out there. We haven't had a guy like this, maybe ever. Go for 2....No way you are kicking the extra point here.
-
That's a heck of a throw and catch there.... wow...
-
2 big runs by Shady and then they give it to Tolbert...... Why does he have to play?
-
THERE IS NO WAY HE WAS OUT OF THE TACKLE BOX!!!!
-
Tolbert the drive killer is back.....man..... Did not miss this guy at all.

I know the word "Dome" gets a bad rap by many here because they think that football should be played in the elements. And, while I do agree with that to a point, today's game might be a perfect example of why a dome will be needed when our new stadium is constructed. Not only will passing the ball be next to impossible, but nobody wants to go there and sit outside to watch this game today. While it might be OK to watch it on TV, only because of the weather, there is a reason that tickets are going for $4. Nobody wants to be outside in this stuff anymore. Would it be different if we were 8-4 or 9-3? Maybe.....but man, this game has a chance to be really ugly.

Is the 2018 QB class highly overrated?
sven233 replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you have actually watched the college games these guys play like I and so many others here have, instead of just looking at the box scores, you will know that there is still plenty of QB talent in the draft. Just because the numbers aren't eye-popping every single week doesn't mean it's on the QBs. Dropped balls, lack of talent surrounding these guys, poor coaches and systems, among many other things may contribute to the struggles of these guys at times. But talent is talent and there are a few QBs in this class that are beyond talented enough to be great at the next level. Whether we can get high enough to pick one of them is a different story. But no....the class is not overrated. It is just being picked apart, as all QB classes are when it's their turn. Don't fool yourself....there is really good QB talent in the draft.....providing everyone comes out. -
I'll just say that not all checkdowns are created equal. There are checkdowns like Tyrod throws where it is a 3-7 yard dump off to a guy standing that results in an easy tackle short of the sticks and then there are other checkdowns that are thrown by real QBs to guys sprinting across the middle, in stride that allow playmakers to make plays. When was the last time you saw Taylor throw a ball like that, regardless of what down it is? YAC don't exist with the Bills and the QB is the biggest reason for it. Just go back and watch some of the old 90s Bills. Kelly didn't always throw it down the field to WRs that were wide open to pick up 3rd down conversions (although he did this plenty when available). Kelly would have 3rd and 10, find Andre Reed streaking over the middle at 6-7 yards, hit him in stride and Reed would take it for another 30. I am not sure Tyrod has ever made a throw like that.

I realize there are a ton of holes on this team and the picks we have are very valuable. However, I have had enough with the constant passive attitude when it comes to drafting a QB. If there is a guy they love, whoever it is, I hope they do whatever necessary to get him.
-
Good drive by Peterman and the Bills there. Not a fan of the fade call there, though. Hate that play in general. That where a healthy KB would make a huge difference by just boxing out a defender on a slant. Don't have that big target right now.
-
For better or worse.....TDs or picks.... He needs to play the rest of the year.
-
Bills should be going no huddle here. Keep the tempo up.
-
Look.....I never want to see anyone get injured, but this franchise needs to be done with Taylor for the rest of the season. For better or worse, ride with Peterman. What ever happens, happens. If we get blown out every week, so be it. But Taylor needs to have taken his last snap as a Bill.
-
Not overall......but his recent play is just brutal.....
-
Taylor just threw the same ball Peterman did while getting hit. Only difference is that he was lucky and it wasn't picked. Next ball Taylor throws he misses an open target by a ton. This is about as bad of QB play as you will ever see.

One QB is just about perfect coming out of the half leading 2 TD drives.......The other has accounted for negative yardage while looking like a fool. Care to guess which one is ours?

Bills and Patriots 1st half thread
sven233 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tyrod has done nothing but help the Cheatriots* in the first half. Can't make simple throws. Even down 6-0.....I might consider a change if this goes much longer. You can't win when you can't score. I have no idea if Peterman can get it done, but maybe he's better coming off the bench instead of starting! HA! This team, though.....man. What I wouldn't give for a real QB on this roster. Tired of watching a QB that holds the ball too long, never throws to WRs, and even when he checks down, can't throw an accurate ball. Even if we were average at the position, we might have a chance, but this is pathetic. -

If we only had a QB....... -
Obviously there was a lot of confusion as to who everyone was talking about in the last few posts. To keep the board coherent, I have cleaned it up and made sure everyone is on the same page. In the end, what it comes down to if there is still any confusion, is that we all like Mayfield a lot more than Rudolph. We all think that Mayfield could be a special player in the NFL if he gets his head on straight and gets into the right situation. This Championship game has been a good example of what he can be capable of at the next level.
-
Mayfield just made 3 back to back to back throws against TCU that were NFL caliber. The first one he eluded a ton of pressure in the pocket, kept his eyes downfield and stuck a throw into his WR along the sideline. The next was a real stron pass over the middle between 2 defenders. And then, he caps a drive with a beautiful play action pass from under center for a TD. Pretty much everything you want to see from a QB in 3 pass plays. I would classify Mayfield's "poor judgements" as just that. I think it is more immaturity than anything else. In a vacuum, I don't think they are all that big of a deal. Should he be doing some of the stuff he's doing? Of course not. But they are not the type of actions that alienate his team. In fact, I think you could make the argument that his teammates love him even more. If you watched his last game where he was benched for the first few series, his teammates couldn't wait for him to get in there. The fans were chanting his make and were so pumped when he came in. Immature at times, yes.....but man....his teammates love him and will follow him anywhere. That's what I want in a QB.
-
Watched every game this season for both guys. Both bring good things to the table. I actually like both in a lot of ways, but I am taking Mayfield of the 2. Rudolph throws a lot of nice balls, especially the deep ball, but everything he has done in out of shotgun. Also, for a guy his size, his arm, while good enough, isn't as big as I would expect for someone that big. However, I am one to believe you can get a stronger arm over time and with the right coaching, I think he could be a good one. Mayfield on the other hand is obviously a much smaller guy, but he does have enough arm strength to make all the necessary throws. Obviously height is a bit of a concern, but if you watch him, there is not an area of the field he cann't see, or avoids because of it. He throws it all over every part of the field and is super accurate. He's not afraid to challenge a defense deep and will hang in the pocket until the last possible moment to make a play. While not a speedster or the most elusive guy in the world, he can move a little bit. Love his passion and intensity. You can just tell he loves it and that's the kind of guy I want leading my team. Immature at times.....yes. But if he can learn to channel his passion in the right way, he's a guy you'll want leading your team. Honestly, when I watch Mayfield, I see all the makings of the next Drew Brees. Accurate, strong enough arm, and can sling it all over the field despite his size. I know some won't agree, but I see him as a guy that will start flying up boards and go a lot earlier than some believe. Some see him as a late first or even second rounder. I bet before it's over he goes top 15......maybe even top 10. I think he is just going to fly up the board. Would I rather have Rosen or Darnold? Yes.....but Mayfield might be my number 3 guy right now. If he's not, he may get that high before the draft.

Quarterback Christmas Shopping
sven233 replied to TorontoBillsFan99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our QB is not currently in the NFL. He will be drafted. Why pay big money for a guy that isn't a sure fire top 5 QB in the NFL? The answer is, you don't. No matter what reports or armchair QBs say, there is talent in this year's QB draft. You can pick apart every single guy and say there are flaws in every guy. But there is a lot that goes into evaluating a QB including the talent around them and the coaching staff in place. Also, sometimes the disparity in opponents in college is a lot more than in the NFL. So yeah....the top guys in the Draft that were all praised last season going into this year might not be getting the same praise, but make no mistake about it......there is a lot of QB talent in this Draft. The key is weeding through all the flaws (which may be a result of something not in their control) and finding the right guy with the right makeup and the natural talent and ability to take steps forward in the NFL. So you can go shopping for the NFL retreads all you want, but I'm looking at the Draft and finding my guy there. -
Tyrod asks for pro bowl votes, gets roasted
sven233 replied to Teddy KGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess we know now why he refuses to change his game, why he refuses to go downfield, throw into tight windows, make regular NFL throws that you see in every other game excepts ours...... He already believes he's good. He already believes he is in the same class as the best QBs in the NFL. Asking for Pro Bowl votes, that at it's core years ago were meant for the best players in the NFL, shows that he is not aware of how behind the elite players in this game he really is. No wonder he has a lack of awareness of what he needs to improve on.....he already thinks he is in the top echelon of QBs in this league. We need to get a real QB in here ASAP.
