  1. If Mayfield or Rosen get to 6 or later, then I am doing everything I can to trade up there. You won't have to give up hardly anything to get from 12 to say 7 or 8, we still get one of the best QBs in the draft, and keep virtually every pick. That would be a dream scenario. That said.....won't happen.
  2. If Allen is indeed their target, I am done with wanting them to trade up. If they want Allen, and he is there at 12, fine. But I am not trading a ton of picks, including next year's first, for a guy that I think has an 80% chance to bust. I have been saying that Allen does have all the tools you could ask for, but he panics, bails out of the pocket way too early, and is very inaccurate. I think he has a tough time reading defenses and is slow to process things. We just got rid of a QB with these same issues. That is not somebody I am willing to spend 5 high picks on. If he falls and you want to try it out at 12, I guess I will live with it. But there is no way I will support spending everything to go get that guy.
  3. Nope.....just a life that is epic..... I leave the failure part to you. You have that down cold. Keep settling for below average, loser. We know that's what you're best at.....always coming up a bit short.....
  4. Some quotes from Beane today on the Jets trade: "Nothing in this league really surprises me," Beane said. "It really doesn't. There's so many moving parts in this league. That was a deal the Jets thought was good for them and the Colts did. That's what you want. It sounds like both teams are happy. "I can't worry about what the Jets or any other team (does). I'm just focused on the Bills. We're very happy with 12. ... Who knows what will happen. But right now, what we're focused on is 12." "I'm sure the Jets are happy there," Beane said. "Again, we're just focused on 12. I don't know the motivation for their move. You would have to ask them. Our focus is on 12 right now, and all the other picks we have, we're excited about what we're going to be able to get done." On possibly trading the 2019 1st: "If it makes us a lot better, and if it's a player that would be worthy of that, yes," There is a lot of picking apart everything Beane is saying today and in the days and weeks leading up to the draft. This is no different. To me, these quotes prove that he was well aware of what was going on with the Jets and Colts. He definitely wasn't blindsided and he almost makes it sound like he was fine just letting that happen. The last sentence here was the one I focused on the most where he said he was excited about our picks and what we are going to be able to get done. Sure, this can be read as they will be fine just drafting guys and being happy with the holes they fill. But I, again, probably reading deeper than I should, believe they know there are deals out there to be had if they want them. It sounds to me like they have a plan and are excited to execute that plan (probably to move up somewhere), when the time is right. I mean, at 12, you really don't know what you can get done just sitting there really..... But if there is a deal, or deals, on the table that can be executed, then they can be "excited about what we're GOING to be able to get done." Also, admitting he would trade the 2019 1st means they have talked to teams that have asked for it in my opinion. Maybe he is laying the groundwork here, preparing d=fans that it will be part of the deal. Again, reading into everything a lot. We all are. It's that time of year. But with everything he is saying, to me, he wasn't surprised by the Jets trade because he knows that they can get done themselves. Hoping this is the case anyway.
  5. But, in this case, the steak wasn't $1000/pound. The Jets gave up 3 2nd round picks. Is it a lot? Yeah..... Was it an offer that the Bills could have easily beaten? Definitely. Not all steak is created equal, either. There are some cuts that are just worth spending a little bit more on. And in this draft, there are 3 guys, in my opinion in Darnold, Rosen, and Mayfield, that are worth spending more than normal on.
  6. Well, if they did all that for Allen, I will have serious doubts as to how long they will be employed here.
  7. I will give Beane the benefit of the doubt for now, but I maintain that if the Bills don't come out of the draft with Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield,. it is an big time failure on his part. With everything the Bills have done since the draft last year, the 1 singular goal of this organization is to get a premier QB prospect in this draft. They have traded away very good players, accumulated a ton of picks, and already improved their draft positron once. There is no excuse for him not to get one of those 3 guys. I don't buy for a second that the Colts wouldn't have traded with us for the right price. Yes, the Colts owner came out and said initially that they didn't want to move out of the top 10, but now there are a ton of reports out there saying they wouldn't mind moving down again. That tells me that the pick could have probably been had for the right price and Beane did not want to pay whatever it was and the Jets did. So, if the opportunity was indeed there to make a move with the Colts, and Beane doesn't end up with Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield, all of the good will he has built with me, and a lot of fans, will be gone. I'm sorry.....but I didn't pass on Mahomes and Watson last year, trade Watkins, Dareus, Darby, and Glenn to come out of this draft without a top QB prospect...... So yeah.....Beane has the benefit of the doubt for now, but he needs to finish the job.
  8. Allen going in the top 3 of the draft would be a HUGE win for the Bills.
  9. So, if the Browns really want Allen and they are concerned the Jets will take him, it's time to get on the phone with the Browns. We get to #1 to take Darnold. Then, the Browns have to work out a deal with the Giants to get from 4 to 2. This allows the Browns to get the QB they want and, since the Jets are going QB anyway, the Giants still get their guy at 4. Every team wins in this scenario.
  10. Another lazy poster with that terrible comparison. More awful every time those words are spoken. I like the first 3 on that list. Then there is a LARGE gap.... I would actually like Jackson on the Bills more than Allen. To me, Allen has probably a 80% chance to bust.
  11. Yup. This why I am not sure if i buy it. If the Bills got the Colts to say yes, they should have been the ones to make the trade call to the league IMMEDIATELY. You do not give the other team a chance to back out or go searching for other offers. The second the Colts say yes, you tell them thank you and that you will make the trade call. The trade gets done. If for some reason the Bills had a trade agreed on and then sat on their hands for whatever reason, then Beane is an embarrassment as a GM. That is an epic failure on his part if this is true. Hard to believe Beane would be this incompetent, but if he was, that is just awful. But, this is why I would take this "report" with a grain of salt. Why would 2 team sources let this out of the room? It only makes themselves and the organization look like fools. There is no positives to telling people this happened.
  12. I know where the other reports came from. Where did Albright say this, though?
  13. I don't necessarily see it happening either. I just don't think it would be completely crazy, especially if I am the Browns. Like I said, I think this would be an easy decision to make to take all of those picks, especially if they love Allen, Rosen, or Mayfield. On the other hand, the Bills, while getting their #1 QB, would be giving up a TON. While I get it and would support it if they really have their hearts set on one (providing it's not Allen), I would rather go to 4 and get whoever is left of Darnold, Rosen, and Mayfield. But I can see this making sense from both team's perspectives pretty easily if it does end up happening.
  14. Maybe they don't have a clear cut #1 choice...... It is possible they have the QBs ranked very closely as I do..... Maybe Allen or Rosen is actually their #1 choice. We don't know. I'm just saying, if they don't have a #1 choice that is clearly head and shoulders above the others, they would be crazy to not look into this.
  15. It's not wishful thinking on my part as a Bills fan...... I would not be in a hurry to get to #1. I wan to get to #4. If I can get there, I guarantee myself Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield. That's all I need. I don't need to get to get to 1 at all. If I was a Browns' fan, though, I would absolutely wanting this to happen. They should be the one's wishful thinking at this point and praying that it happens. They get a great QB prospect and a ton of top picks in the draft? I would be very jealous of them......even though they are the Browns.
  16. Some may or may not agree, but if I were the Browns I would absolutely trade the 1st pick to the Bills! I wouldn't have to think about it for very long at all. Contrary to what most think, the Browns already have quite a bit of talent on their team. Coupled with the fact that they already had a ton of high picks in this draft, and the additional haul of high picks from the Bills they could get this year, the Browns could be a legitimate Super Bowl contender in a year or 2. As you all know by now, I have 3 QBs rated very closely this year in Darnold, Rosen, and Mayfield. I am not high on him, but maybe the Browns even love Allen as well. The Browns are in a prime position with that pick at 4 to get pretty much any one of these guys they want, aside from whoever the Bills would take at 1. The could possibly trade up from 4 with the Giants to get to 2 if they want, or they could just sit tight if they have a good idea of who the Jets are taking at 3. The Browns, with the talent they do have already, and if they were to pick 4 / 12 / 22 / 33 / 35 / 53 / 56 / 64 / 114 / 150 / 175 / 205 (plus 2019 1st x2) as mentioned above, could conceivably compete for a Championship in 2 years. If the Bills were in this situation and we had the top pick in this draft and some team was offering all this to me, I would be begging the Bills to trade the 1st pick. It's a no-brainer if you ask me, if I'm the Browns. What a way to set your team up for the next 5-10 years with all those picks. The only problem is, we would have to be competing with them and find a way to beat that team with all that talent to get to where we want to go! Honestly, it is a win-win for both the Bills and Browns to make this happen.
  17. NFL Media ✔ @NFLMedia "He has a lot of momentum building in the right direction. I don’t know where he goes but he’s going much higher than what his tape suggested he should go." -- @BuckyBrooks 3:17 PM - Mar 23, 2018 And there in lies the problem...... Like I said, he could end up being good. Maybe he will end up the best QB out of the class. But I'm sorry. I watch a ton of football and I much rather take the guy that performs in the games than the guy that performs well in shorts against air. Will Darnold, Rosen, and Mayfield be better in the end? I don't know. But what I do know is that I want all 3 of them....and probably Jackson as well, over Allen. Give me the the guys that actually put some greatness on tape in games action.
  18. Some may want to stay at 12. Some may want to do whatever it takes to get to 1 or 2. Some may want to move up a couple spots, but not too high. With everything that has gone down over the last several days with the Jets trade, maybe the Giants trade of JPP, the presumed consensus that Darnold will indeed be going first overall, etc. the draft is shaping up in a way that we have a pretty good idea of where things are headed at this point. For me, it has become clear that getting to 2 is going to be extremely difficult, if not impossible at this point. The Giants, to me anyway, look like they really like a guy and might not move for anything at this point, and, after thinking about it for a while, I'm fine with it. After the Jets made their way to 3, I was mad that it wasn't us. But as of now, with the way things are starting to take shape at the top of the draft, I'm not that upset with it anymore. Right now, my biggest question marks are what the Broncos are thinking at 5 and what move, if any, the Cards and Dolphins might be planning if they are gunning for a QB. With all of that laid out, I think I have settled on #4 being my perfect spot to get to and here's why. I believe the Giants are wanting to stay at 2 and select a non-QB player. Obviously, that's not ideal for some that are set on moving up to 2, but I have made up my mind that i don't need to get there anymore. From the very beginning, I have been high on 3 guys....Darnold, Rosen, and Mayfield. My entire goal for this off season was to come out of the draft with 1 of those 3. With all the recent developments, as it sits right now, 2 of those guys are locks for the top 3 (unless by some miracle the Jets or Browns love Allen). This is why #4 is the perfect pick for me at this point and I want to get there not not even bother trying to get higher. Darnold goes 1. The Giants take a non-QB at 2. The Jets take Rosen/Mayfield/Allen at 3, and then I sit at 4 and take either Rosen or Mayfield and be ABSOLUTELY THRILLED with the pick. If I'm at 4, I am guaranteed 1 of the guys I love (providing the Giants don't go QB as I expect that they won't) and by getting to 4 now, you block the Broncos, Dolphins, and Cardinals from trying something funny and taking that spot. Granted, it is completely possible the Broncos aren't taking a QB anyway and the Dolphins and Cards are in no hurry to move up. But I don't know that, so to be safe, I want to take care of my own future and just trade to 4 to take any risk of someone jumping you out of the equation. I have Rosen and Mayfield pretty much dead even on my board, so to come away with one of them at 4, would be a huge win. Obviously, the Bills may like 1 guy more than the rest, but I can make it work with any one of Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield. So, right now, the perfect spot on the board for me is #4 and, while we will have to trade up to get there, conceivably, the price to get there should be a bit less than getting to 2 which is also a bonus. So, yeah.....my sweet spot in the draft is 4 and I am ready to get there and stay. Where is your spot on the board? Do you have your mind made up at this point?
  19. The thing is, yes....this is a highlight reel. But I have watched virtually every game he has played and while these are the highlights, this is how he plays week in and week out. He makes every throw you could possibly ask for, mostly from the pocket. The guy has every opportunity to be a great QB for a long time and I will love to do whatever it takes to get him. As I have been saying, if the Bills don't come away from the Draft with Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield, it is an all time failure by Beane. With all the ammo he has, and not to get one of these 3 guys, is inexcusable.
  20. Every single time I see this guy I feel like I am watching the next Drew Brees. The guy can read a defense, gets the ball out on time, and is deadly accurate. If he was 2 inches taller, there is not a doubt in my mind he would be the #1 overall pick. Honestly, I think he is the perfect QB for the Bills and where offense is going in the NFL. Because his decisions are so quick, and he can read a defense faster than most, coupled with arm strength and decent mobility, it makes him the perfect kind of guy to run an RPO based offense. I think this is the next big thing in the NFL and what we have seen to this point from the Eagles and a couple other teams is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to RPO based offenses. This guy will be great at it. He can make every throw you want on the football field while also using the right amount of touch on all of his throws when necessary. Add in his fiery competitiveness and underdog mentality, there is no better team he could end up on than the Bills. For me, not coming out of of this draft with Darnold, Rosen, or Mayfield would be an all time failure on Beane's part. With the ammo we have, there is no reason we shouldn't get 1 of those 3 guys. No excuses.
  21. If they like Chubb, the best way for this to work for both us and them is for us to somehow strike a deal with Cleveland at 4. If we can get to 4, we can pretty easily get to 2. Everyone knows we are taking a QB. Everyone knows the Jets are taking a QB at 3. So, we need to get to 4, call the Giants and tell them we are going QB for sure and then get them to trade with us to 4. We get the 2nd QB off the board. The Jets get the 3rd QB off the board, and the Giants still get Chubb at 4 along with whatever we trade them to move from 2 to 4. This is a win for both teams. Bills get their guy, the Giants get their guy, and both teams in the process screw over the Jets in some way. It's a win for everyone.
  22. He's a guy that has every physical tool you dream about a QB having. That said, I have watched a lot of him and he is slow to process the field, he's late on throws all the time (gets away with it because of his arm in college, but probably won't in the NFL), and he bails out of the pocket way too early, way too often. If you watch him, a lot of the "wow" throws he makes, which are impressive, are unnecessary in a lot of ways. I mean, this might be a bit of a stretch, but he is a lot like Tyrod in terms of reading the field and bailing out too early. Because he is slow through his reads, he bails out of the pocket a lot, even if there is no pressure, WAITS to see guys come open and then throws. Taylor had the same problems having to wait to see guys come open. Allen gets away with it more because of his arm strength, but he is not a guy that throws guys open a ton and the ball comes out real late too many times for my liking. That is where the comparisons to Taylor ends because Allen is a superior passer for sure, but the way he reads the field, bails out early, and has to wait for guys to come open to throw many times is very concerning to me. Give me a guy that moves around in the pocket, slides up, and steps into a throw any day over Allen. Allen may turn out to be good someday because, as I said, he has every tool you look for. But there are more things that concern me than don't and I would be much more comfortable with several other guys in this class before him. Right now, he's behind Darnold, Rosen, and Mayfield.....at least. Maybe even Jackson. There are much better options in this draft and I hope the Bills see it too.
  23. Seeing a Bills logo standing right behind Darnold watching him throw..... Hard time seeing who it is, though.....
  24. Just wanted to remind everyone that might be interested in checking it out, the USC Pro Day is currently airing live on the NFL Network. They have run some 40s and cone drills to this point. Darnold will be throwing soon. He is currently doing stretching and some light warmups as he prepares to show the Browns, and the rest of the NFL, what he has. I know we haven't been focused on him much because we all anticipate he will be going #1, but it still might be worth checking out just in case. I can tell you the Browns have a ton of people there including their owner, so we can all see where this is most likely going, but hey.....you never know. I haven't heard who the Bills have there in attendance, but if I get that information somewhere along the way, I will update the post. So, to all of you that tune in, enjoy!
