We all talked about the offensive line and WRs having to step up to help Allen today, but the defense is making an impossible situation much worse. They can't stop a nosebleed and it is going to get Allen killed because he will have to throw the ball every play. Here they spent the entire draft and off season "upgrading" the defense and neglecting the offense and the defense may be worse than the offense. Just brutal.

Yup.....you condone and are willing to overlook cheating, but I have the problem. You're right. I should embrace cheating too. I'm done with you. I have a game to watch.
-
I get it.....cheating is OK whether it's a little or a lot. You've stated it many times now. You're OK with the cheating.
-
So, the cheating he got caught for is OK? I get it.....you don't want to dock him for cheating. You think all of his accomplishments while cheating should be OK and counted the same as those who didn't cheat. You think his accomplishments are the same, if not better, with cheating, compared to those who didn't. That's fine and the way you want to roll. But I don't care if it was 1 time, 2 times, or more. I, along with most, can't overlook cheating like you can.

They're not unproven! The Pats* were fined and docked draft picks! They cheated! It was proven. You're the only one claiming they didn't do anything wrong. Wow.....
-
No..... It just means that no other fan of any team has gone to the lengths you have to defend cheating. But hey....maybe you cheat at things all the time in your life and accept it just like they do. That's fine. To each his own. I just don't respect cheaters no matter how "exaggerated" you think things are. Fact is, it is worse than you want to believe.
-
The NFL DESTROYED the evidence...... The fact is, the whole thing is A LOT WORSE than the public was told. Otherwise they would not have destroyed everything Sounds like you're a Pats* fan on a Bills board. No other fan of any team would try as hard as you have to defend cheating.

Players aren't the only ones that matter. This whole topic was about our opinions about the top 5. He makes mine. But can never be #1 with all the cheating and scandals. I, and most people, don't respect cheating.
-
Hey, you can be up in his junk all you want........ Put him at #1. Just make sure to put an * next to his name. That's all.
-
He has 1 title since the cheating scandals and it took an implosion from the Falcons to get it. Brady will always be associated with deflated balls and cheating. I don't deny that he is talented and an all time great, but he will NEVER be the greatest because of all the cheating and controversies surrounding him. Had he, his coach, his team, and entire organization not been busted multiple times for cheating and he did this all legitimately, yes, he may very well be the best. But he didn't do it with all of the crap that follows him so we'll never know.
-
Uh.....no. They barely won any of their early titles. Any type of cheating could have swayed those games. Also, they were doing this cheating all along before they got caught. Who knows how long they were cheating before they got caught and who knows what else they are doing that they haven't been called on yet. His whole career is tainted. Period. And the quotes around "cheating" are not necessary. They are proven cheaters (multiple times), so no need to couch it. They cheated and didn't pay a big enough price for it.

Brady, while great, should never be considered #1 because of all the cheating. He also recently said that Rodgers would be better than anyone else with better coaching.
-
This is more where I believe I think they will end up in my opinion. However, I do think by the time it is said and done, Rodgers could be higher on that list. Honestly, Brees and Brady could be swapped as well. 1. Montana 2. Manning 3. Rodgers 4. Brady* 5. Brees

Official TNF Thread: Bungles vs Ravens
sven233 replied to Jauronimo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK....we all know the Ravens were pretty terrible in the first half. We also know we are not very good. That said, would anyone here, right now, sign up for Joe Flacco's performance in the first half on Sunday for Josh Allen? -
As I mentioned here yesterday, I have been going back and forth on what to do here as many of us have. But I got up this morning and it was pretty clear to me that Allen needs to start. It's not that Allen is ready. I rather not have to play him yet. But this is all about Peterman at this point. I just don't see how McDermott can roll him out there again on Sunday for a couple reasons: 1. How does McDermott look his players in the eyes and tell them that Nate gives them the best chance to win? 2. If he were to roll Peterman out there on Sunday and he goes 3 and out, or God forbid, throws another pick on the first drive, there is going to be 73,000+ there lighting the stadium on fire. Even if he gets a couple of first downs before flaming out, the building is going to boo Peterman, the team, and the coaching staff mercilessly. The only way it works with Peterman is if he goes out there and scores TDs on 2-3 drives in a row. And what are the chances that happens? I don't want Allen going in yet, but at this point, I don't see any other option. If the game was on the road, I could easily see McDermott throwing Peterman out there again, but at home, in the home opener, following up last year's and last week's performances, against the team that buried him last season........I just can't see it. Peterman starting Sunday is a riot waiting to happen.

Man, the Raiders can't seem to generate a pass rush and are having trouble setting the edge in the run game. If only there was someone out there that could have helped them this season..... -
This I agree with if a decision has really not been made. He didn't tell us anything today, but that doesn't mean that behind closed doors the team hasn't already found out. But I think McDermott should have gone out there today with his decision and showed some conviction. Right now he just looks scared to make a decision, which I guess you can't blame him for. Not an ideal situation at all.
