Honestly, the players came through overall. There were ups and downs for all of them, but in the end, they made the plays that mattered. Allen, Shakir, Cook, all did their jobs. While the run defense was pitiful, they finally got the pass rush going the last 2 drives. We need to get Ed healthy ASAP. Bosa had an OK game overall, but man.....he showed he can be the difference maker we need in crunch time with the pass rushes he had down the stretch. I will have to watch the tape to see how he played most of the game, but Bishop made a game changing play at the end of the half. And, here's my weekly shout out to Hawes. What a difference maker he is for this offense. Does all the dirty things well and is serviceable enough in the pass game to make a big play every week. Love watching that kid block, though.
The down? Easy.... the coaching staff. McDermott and both coordinators had a tough day I think. Yes, we scored 30 again. I get that. But man, some of the play calls on offense in the middle of that game were head-scratching. And the defense was shredded all day except for the last drive and a half. And finally, the offensive line I thought had their worst game of the season so far. Allen was constantly pressured. They opened up a couple nice holes for Cook, but Cook made them look better than they were today. We missed Brown badly.
