Trade Deadline (Nov 1) Bills Rumors / Speculation
sven233 replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ugh......this type of stuff is why it is so frustrating to be a fan sometimes. We aren't privy to the conversations that are going on and we don't know what is being discussed. I'm sure there are some deals that have been talked about that we would be all for making if we knew the actual details that GMs won't make for whatever their reasoning is. There are probably players and deals being discussed by us and every other team that we would think there would be no way that teams would move the player, but we could make a move on but don't. I think we all see how good this team is and one or two big time players could put us over the top. Personally, I would be all in at this point Nothing would be off limits to get talent in here no matter what picks we are talking about. We have a lot of core guys under contract already and while picks are valuable, if you use them on the right pieces to pick up, you won't miss one draft and it won't kill this team long term. It's time to be aggressive and take our swing. If it works out, nobody will care what we gave up. If it doesn't, one year of losing out on draft picks isn't going to mortgage our future either. That said, it is going to be frustrating to watch other teams around us working to get better and close the gap on us while we stand pat. We haven't won anything yet, but we are the hunted right now. I want to make the gap larger, not watch teams close in. Now's the time to make the moves to give us a chance to put us over the top. I just don't think Beane and company are going to be willing to give up the picks necessary to do it. -
NFL Week 8: Packers at Bills - 2nd half game thread

Ugly as per usual off the bye, but a win is a win. On to the next. -

We win games off of Bye weeks, but they are never pretty. For whatever reason, we are just sloppy with things. Talented enough to overcome it, but it's always tougher than it should be. If we are looking for anything at the trade deadline, it should be a safety. These young guys make plays, but they get beat way too often. -

Josh is a little too amped tonight. In the end, I don't think it will matter, but it will definitely motivate him for next week to be better. All that said, James Cook needs more touches. -

Week 8: SNF Packers at Bills (-10.5) 10/30 8:20pm

If we come out focused and ready to go Sunday night, it could get ugly quick. The Packers have not been playing well. Their WRs are banged up. Their offensive line has been struggling at times to protect Rodgers. On top of that, Rodgers has been holding the ball longer this year than he ever has before. He is taking sacks and hits. If our defense comes out on fire, Rodgers could be in for a very long (or short) night. The good news is that even if the Packers play well by their standard on offense, I don't think they will be able to keep up with us on offense. Even if we start slow, I fully expect us to make some big plays like we we do every week and get into the upper 20s or 30s. I don't expect our defense to give up that many points to this team. So, while it could be ugly and more of a struggle than we would like, I still see us winning by 2 scores in the end. That said, if we come out of the gate hot and the defense starts flying around, we could boat-race them by the 3rd quarter as we've done to a couple other teams this season. -
That price is insane. What are the Niners thinking? It's not like he's going to be the piece to put them over the top. So glad our GM is smarter than this. Could we use some reinforcements? Yes. But parting with that much for any RB is insane.

Just goes to show you how important the big guys up front are when it comes to LB play. Both Maine and Milano are playing fast and free because the guys up front are keeping them clean and allowing them to work. I can't tell you enough how much of an upgrade Jones has been in place of Star. He's done more for this team in 4 games than Star did his entire tenure with the Bills. Add in the fact that Groot has been an absolute monster with both Boogie and AJ taking big steps forward (not to mention we have some guy named Miller screaming off the edge as well) and they are just creating so much chaos up front that it isn't allowing offensive lines to immediately get to the second level and block our backers. The exciting part about all of this is that I think we're only going to see us get better as the season goes along as we get some guys back from injury. Maine and Milano are already balling out, and they haven't had our best DT on the field in Oliver pretty much all season, his primary backup in Phillips (who is playing like a starter) for the last couple games as well, and that's not even mentioning a top 3-4 CB in the entire league on top of all that. It's just night and day to see what these LBs can do when they don't have to worry about shedding blocks every single play. They are playing free and fast and it is really noticeable. The only thing that is going to stop this defense, and this team really, is injuries. If we can find a way to get and stay healthy, we have a chance to do something truly special.

Now is the time we need Cook to start playing well
sven233 replied to Orlando Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's had a rough go for the most part with his very limited opportunities. But I think that's most of the problem.....he's not getting a real opportunity. Backs thrive on touches and getting into a rhythm, picking up blocking tendencies of the line, and getting a feel for how defenses are playing you. Because he only gets a couple snaps a game, it is impossible to settle in and get into a groove. So, he gets on the field, presses because he wants to do something meaningful with his 1 or 2 touches, and in turn makes mistakes. I would love for the staff to just tell him going into a game that he's going to get multiple full series in a row and not just a random play once in a while. Unfortunately, I don't see this staff doing that. Our best hope to get anything out of him is to get up big and allow him to come in and get some real work and almost be unstoppable in that time to force the staff to give him more playing time. Honestly, I feel bad for the kid because I think he just needs a real chance to show what he can do. -
Watching the game live, this is what I thought he was going to do. In my head, I am thinking Bass could hit from 60-65 max, so my target line was the 45. Not saying he would have made it, of course, but he has the leg to get it there. Would have been a tough kick for sure, but I would have liked to at least have the chance to try it. Getting out of bounds there was not worth the extra 5 yards. Heat of the moment with everything going on, I will never blame Dirty, though. Just an unfortunate set of circumstances.

I can virtually guarantee you that even when Tre is back and ready to go, he won't be out there for every snap. He's going to be worked in slowly so he can ramp himself up to full speed over a number of weeks. I think we will still see plenty of Jackson, Elam, and Benford for quite a while to come. The last thing we need is to just throw Tre back out there and overwork him, not just to protect his knee, but from other injuries as well. No matter how hard he's been working out and will come out and practice, anyone that is injured like he was will be more susceptible to new injuries by coming back and playing too much too soon. Long term health is the goal for Tre and being able to get the young kids more more important reps is going to be an added bonus. This is all about the big picture and having as many guys healthy as possible to go out and win after game 17 is over.

After everything we went through Sunday, I heard they made a call to the architect to make sure they installed high powered infrared heaters that will be set at 115 degrees directly over the visitors benches that will be turned on exclusively for Dolphins games so they can get a taste of home when they come here. They will pair nicely with the high powered fans that will be turned on when temperatures reach 30 degrees or lower.

Ugh....got me. Luckily it wasn't a ton of money, but still.....

Anyone have anything they love in this game? The under? Player props? Need to make this game interesting somehow!

Micah Hyde seeking 2nd opinion on neck injury
sven233 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ugh..... Hoping for the best for Hyde. Usually getting a 2nd opinion means whatever the issue is, it is pretty serious. Forget this game, I'm worried this could be the end of his season, if not worse. Obviously, his health is the #1 priority and I hope that he makes a full recovery. That said, with him out, Tre already out, and now Jackson and Poyer not practicing today, what was once the strongest group on our team is now 100% backups and rookies heading into a game against maybe the best WR group we will play all season. Not ideal to say the least. -
So, as of today, our entire starting secondary is not practicing. Far from ideal heading into a game with 2 of the fastest WRs we will face all season.
-
It was more like 1 good quarter and half of the yardage he had was from RAC. The only thing Dolphins fans are getting this week is a reality check.
-
Since Josh got pulled before the 3rd quarter was over, I think we should remove Tua's 4th quarter stats to see how they stack up with equal playing time!

9/19/22 Gameday Titans at Bills Week 2 Pregame Thread MNF!

Anyone still on the fence about adding OBJ when he's healthy, just remember this tweet. We are one injury away from Jake Kumerow being our #2 outside WR. -

Sounds like no Davis tonight according to WGR and Jeremy Fowler. Here's to Shakir bursting onto the scene tonight and balling out! Jeremy Fowler @JFowlerESPN #Bills WR Gabe Davis (questionable, ankle) is not expected to play tonight vs. the #Titans, per source. Team has held out hope but playing was considered an uphill battle since Saturday's injury. Out, barring surprise. -

I think he looks a little stiff. Kind of looks like a guy trying to hide the pain a bit. But who knows....maybe I'm wrong. Just the way it looks to me. Now, regardless of whether he goes tonight, I full expect to see 10 active and get quite a bit of run. Hope so, because he reminds me so much of Bobby Trees. Maybe not the most physically gifted guy, but he's such a nuanced route runner and has a knack for getting open. I think if he has to come in and play a big role tonight, he won't disappoint. -
A bit early, but Chiefs game flexed to Sunday night?
sven233 replied to bigfootindy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah....not happening. I believe networks can protect up to 2 games per season. While we don't know what games they are for sure, I would bet quite a bit that this game is one of those protected games. It is the biggest regular season game of the season. No way a network would voluntarily give it away to another network.
