  1. I think it would be great to get a good big wide out but I think at this point that would be a luxury more than a need. You have to fix the offensive line and the defense first. I would fix the line and defense and hope that a couple of the young receivers step up this season. If they don't you can draft a great wide out next year.
  2. FireChan- When Darieus and Glenn want contracts, what makes you think the Bills will give it to them? What makes you think the Front office won't let them walk like they did with Levitre and now Byrd?? I'll tell you right now "IF" Glenn becomes one of the top tackles in the league he will want a contract that is off the charts Don't you think he will demand what he is worth? The Bill could find themselves in he same situation they are in now with Byrd. If they keep letting great players, that are in their prime walk, they will always be a 6 ad 10 team. You can take that to the bank.
  3. Carpenter's system worked well for guys like Jack Kemp, Billy Shaw, Tom Sestak, and Jim Dunaway but it's too out dated for todays players.
  4. When Russ Brandon took over he said the Bills will do anything to improve the team including free agency. We'll see if he is a snake oil salesman of if he stays true to his word. Time will tell. I myself think he's a snake oil salesman and they won't sign Byrd. I think it's the same old, same old Bills. Develop players and then let them walk because they want to get paid what they are worth. That's been the past practice here and I don't see it changing. The Bills are like a farm system for the rest of the NFL. Draft them, develop them, and then let other teams stock up on good players. Then they wonder why the haven't been a contender for 14 years in a row. Bills fans are all going to heaven, they have suffered enough being Bills fans.
  5. Byrd won't sign with the Bills. He wants out and will take less money from a contending team. The guy is sick of losing and wants to have a chance to play in the post season and maybe even a super bowl. He knows he will never get that opportunity in Buffalo. He's a great player and great players want to win. I can't say I blame him. Losing year in and year out has to take it's toll on your mental attitude. After being on a loser his entire career he probably can't take anymore.
  6. Who's Chris Brown? Isn't he the spokesman for "hair club for men"?
  7. Dr Trooth - God has blessed you by getting you out of Buffalow. I hope you gave the Lord thanks and praise. Anyway what I am here to tell you is even though the Steelers stink right now, ALL TEAMS rebuild faster than the BuffaLOW Bills. The BIlls have been rebuilding since Jim Kelly still had HAIR!!! Maybe you're old enough to remember how long ago that was. Well the bottom line is the Bills and the Steelers both STANK, but at least you can be assured the Steelers will become a contender a lot sooner than the Bills
  8. They're signing more early August cuts. Camp bodies for the vets to beat up on and hopefully gain confidence. Yeah WEO I think you're right. It would be a lot less risky and the odds of it paying off would be a lot greater.
  9. It's non football related. He's getting breast implants.
  10. Jerry Jones toupee - I'll tell you what the Bills got in the Marshawn Lynch trade. The answer is "HOSED" They got hosed.
  11. I'm not arguing with you. You have valid points, many I agree with. My intention is NOT to argue but just to state my opinion that the Pats deserve credit. Besides that, I'm NOT a die hard Pats fan. I just love good football no matter what team it is. In fact I may have my heart broken today as my favorite team is Carolina. San Fran and Kapernick are super tough but I'll be rooting for Carolina none the less.
  12. Mrags - surely you jest when you ask about Belichick being mediocre in New England. He was mediocre his first year in New England, going 5 and 11. He had just inherited a lousy team and had not yet put his stamp on it. He had evaluate what he had and build accordingly. It takes that first year for a coach to completely analyze the team and figure what he has to do to make them successful. His second year with them he WON a SUPER BOWL. You can't do any better than winning the big game. I mean you know how hard it is and what an accomplishment it is to be the best team in the league and world champion?? It's not easy. For example, look at the Bills e, they have been in the league 53 years and have NEVER won a super bowl. That's over a half century without a world champ title. Old Billy has THREE world titles just as a head coach, that's not even counting his super bowl victories as a def. coordinator. As far as being mediocre with the Browns? You have to look no further than the owner. When have the Browns ever let a coach run the show? The Browns organization is a joke. The are perennial losers. If a coach has to fight the owner he can't succeed. Ralph is a perfect example of that. Polian was building dynasty until Ralph interfered by brnging in Littman and Overdork. He stripped Polian of his complete control and Polian walked. We all know how successful Polian was when he left here. Polian knew no team can be good if they don't let he football people control the football operations. When bean counters step in it always leads to disaster. That's why when Polian left he said, "Bills fans cherish this team, you will NEVER see another one like it." Man that was over 20 years ago and boy was he telling the truth.
  13. MrRags - In your list of defenses that dominated you listed the Giants over the Bills. Do you know who the mastermind of that defense was?? None other than Bill Belichick. He was Parcel's defensive coordinator and he's the one who came out with the two man line to stop the no huddle. The guy was genious because the Bills were a hundred times better than the Giants in 1990. They Bills had 11 pro bowlers and the Giants were playing with their 2nd string quarterback. If Belichick didn't come out with that two man line the Bills would have blown NY out of the stadium, 52 to 21. The Bills had that much more talent.
  14. Smears _ realistically, down deep you don't even believe what you say. But I can see how you would grasp at straws and want to believe it . Getting completely dominated by another team for a decade and a half has to make you feel totally frustrated and helpless. Do you realize high school seniors were still in diapers the last time the Bills could compete with the Patriots?? They weren't even in kindergarten yet. Man that's a LONG, LONG, LONG time!
