The Bills are done, stick a fork in them
HopefulFuture replied to HopefulFuture's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bonkers? 53 years a fan, 0 championships, bonkers? And Kelly was by far a way better QB then Josh is. Kelly play called on the field, Allen has a hard time executing others play calling at times, especially in critical games. Best QB Buffalo has ever had? At least make a championship game before crowning him. -

I've thought about that, but I'm not sold on Josh is all. On field vision is highly questionable. And again, I could be wrong, but to date, my opinion is backed by results, at least as of now. -

To me, that's a secondary question. My primary question would be, and is, what GM and coaching staff to bring in. Answering that leads to the roster personnel decisions, including QB. -

I believe he's a good QB, but he's not the answer for a championship here is my opinion. And currently, the results of his tenure support my opinion. I could be wrong, but I won't back away from my position on keeping Allen. Results matter to myself in any event, and as of now, today, we are not championship contenders, Allen included. I've been through the 70's, 80's, 4 super bowl losses in the 90's, the drought years, just like many others. I want a championship, I feel moving on from this current situation holds more of a chance than keeping them. They've shown they don't have what it takes, imho. -

I've been around for years. I don't post much. I do when I have something to say. I read it daily. There's not anything more for me to add. I've watched every game of the current staff and qb Era, it's not a pretty picture if a championship is the goal. Just my view based on performance in those 4+ years. -
I've watched these past 4 years, the window isn't closing, it's closed. Allen isn't the answer. Good QB, but he can't win the clutch games. Oh I know fans will throw a multitude of excuses....coaching, personnel, and each have merit on their own right. Beans and McD need to go, so does Allen. Let Diggs go to. Get what you can in trade value. That should be solid building blocks if the right management team and coaching staff are assembled. Many will hate this opinion, but if your not accepting the reality of the current situation, then your living your Bills Fandom in la la land. The current organizational make up, from management and coaching to roster personnel is not taking this team anywhere. I know, hate it, hate me and a growing number that share this opinion, but it won't change the reality on the ground. This team is going nowhere, and the past 4+ years outcomes project this. The time for denial is over. It's time to move on to acceptance.

For those of you saying open air, or no to an indoor stadium. I can tell you with out any hesitation, your going to get one. And not a retractable roof, but one very similar to Locus Oil Field. Sorry to be the messenger, but it's already been decided. To the bolded, this is incorrect. It does all but seal the deal on Super Bowls in Buffalo. I happen to know for a fact that will happen. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Misconceptions about Terry Pegula
HopefulFuture replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really don't understand all of the Pegula hate. The guy is investing in the region via the Sports Franchises here. The Sabres are most likely going to be a playoff regular once the rebuild is complete and the youth gains maturity on the ice as a team. The Bills are in a bit of a different category. They lack a true general at the helm on the field for their offense. They need some O pieces, patience as the products are built. It's been frustrating for fans all these years, but Pegula is the right kind of owner for sure. -
Bills vs. Chiefs Postgame
HopefulFuture replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's all play calling on this one. 2 shots at the end zone on that last drive, they should have gone with a shorter yardage grab. The talent is on this team, the play calling from the coaching staff on the offensive side of the ball sucks down in the red zone more often than not. This loss is a very big blow to the playoff hunt, I give them a 30% chance of getting in now. -
A few thoughts about the game......................... The Bills, while showing signs of improvement, still need a QB The Defense floundered today a bit, and even though the turnovers tired them I'm sure, they showed real commitment throughout the game as a unit, individual players however.............another story, some positions should be revisited this coming off season on that side of the ball The Offense, specifically the offensive line, I don't care what anyone says, your given a game plan, you practice it, your payed to execute it on game day, a big problem here............ CJ and Fred out, time for some old time, smash mouth, big running back football. It's about time I say............... The last second heroics, shouldn't have been needed against this opponent. It exposes the Bills weakness, which comes back to...................QB And last but not least, coaching. If you put a game day plan in place, and practice it through out the week, then the failures on the field most also be shared with the coaching staff, starting with the head coach, but, to include the GM as well since that is the individual that assembled this staff................ Changes need to be made, and the sooner, the better, but, once again, I see improvement from past seasons................

haha, yep, I remember........ And as for the site, ummmm.......no, mind you, it's not a bad thought over all, but, just no..........

Pegula's liquid worth is roughly 3 to 4 billion. That's cash on hand. His over all worth is far greater. He has sole or partner contracts in 3 of the 5 largest NG fields in NA. Those mineral rights, from what I understand, are worth in excess of 4 billion as of the beginning of this year. These are of course, rounded numbers, since no one that has signed a contract with Pegula or a partnership he is in can speak on the arrangements, as many of those areas have not yet been touched by production facilities. He's considered one of the top 10 in NG in NA. His holdings are both back here in the east as well as out out west, specifically the Niabrafa shale field. But his largest holdings that are worth the most do to market viability are right here in NY state. To suggest that he will liquidate those arrangements to buy a football team, I don't see it happening. This last sale he did with the small partnership group is the largest you will most likely see from him via the mineral rights sales. No one in the right mind is going to give up those mineral rights in those larger gas fields, they are worth quite a bit in the long term.

There is a specific difference here. Some new and at the time, unknown information, came in to the fold.

The poster is correct, there are certain owners who would like to see a team in Toronto. By the nature of their public comments, that could be considered a push, more to the point, it's an endorsement of support, specifically to Bon Jovi. The fan base staying on top of the current sales process may not have any visible public effects on the Trust, but it certainly motivated one of the potential suitors to address the Bills fan base in an open letter. The Trust I'm sure are honorable people, but this just serves as a reminder that the public here in WNY is very aware of the situation. So to say it is irrelevant to the sales process, one potential suitor already disagrees with you and went public with an effort to address concerns. I don't recall which of you it was that made a comment to myself within the past 2 weeks, but, the comment was along the lines of "The Toronto Group are very real players in the game". Both of you seem to be slanting a view that the Toronto Group isn't really being considered, so which is it? Are they or aren't they real players in the game? I'll give you my take on it, they are. There wouldn't be the opportunity to resubmit the bid if they weren't, that of course, is just my opinion and in no way should reflect a view that I believe they will get the team, but they are in the process to be sure.

Not at all. I concur. But, it does lend itself to the larger issue of fracking over all, not just nationally, but internationally. With out this becoming a PPP as others have pointed out, I'll stay on course with the Bills situation and say that Mr. Pegula is transitioning from energy to entertainment and doing so with fortunate timing combined with the area he is investing in (i.e. WNY). His legacy won't be fracking on the broader scale of his business MO, it will most likely be business diversity in my opinion. Now, if he does get the team, let's see if he can elevate that entertainment product to a status of elite. I like what he's done with the Sabres so far, if it didn't work one way, tear it down and rebuild it in to a potential championship team. Yes, this takes time, but at least it's a plan that is implemented to do something to change the status quo of the situation. I don't see the need to tear the Bills down due to prior managements missed opportunities, but I do see a select few pieces to complete the task being needed. In any event, the article, as you pointed out, isn't a larger issue in the sale of the team.

It is a poorly written article in that it is an open attack on Mr. Pegula for doing business with Dutch Shell. Well, it does point out the concerns of the process, but I tend to agree with you that the articles intention was not to point that out but to tarnish Mr. Pegula's name. To both you and Beerball I would ask, "Is it possible that this writer was motivated discreetly by a 3rd party?" Think about that question for a moment. While the article technically was not inaccurate in it's facts, it was more than blatantly obvious that it attempted to tie Mr. Pegula to events in Nigeria completely unrelated to East Resources operations in Pennsylvania. Last I checked, I didn't see the state government hanging reporters. The larger issue I have with the article is it's more than apparent attempt to paint Mr. Pegula as an indirect party to government abuses through oil companies actions overseas. That is not accurate reporting. Energy is a huge issue, and operations here in the US, while having some serious concerns over those issues, shouldn't be tied to a company based out of the Netherlands. After all, Shell operates over 25,000 gas stations, they aren't franchised, here in the US. With that being known, shouldn't the writer have also pointed out that any customer of Shell gas stations here in the US supports a company that was involved in the Nigerian situation? After all, Shell stations are primarily southern US in location, and hence their customer base is vastly diverse, including an overwhelming number of African Americans. Just sayin................

Bills fans are drunkest in NFL

It's no secret WNY is one of the heaviest abusing areas of alcohol in North America. What is surprising is that you don't see more pics of slob drunks found. -
Bills Sale Book's Most Important Number
HopefulFuture replied to extrahammer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When it comes to a business such as an NFL franchise, you cannot look at the net return in dollars as the only value of the product. There are secondary values that aren't actually secondary. What they don't make back in monetary means across the span of the owners lifetime they make up for in other areas, such as leveraging ability on an asset that is sure to continue to rise in value, the ability to move in the political arena as a player at the larger the table for various issues and the over all prestige of owning such a product offers a great deal muscle flexing in some regional power plays as well. -
In the early months of 2013 the Toronto group hurled themselves upon the Buffalo Bills via a stadium site search in the Ontario Province. In pursuance of this knowledge being given to the general public in WNY, the current fan base of the Buffalo Bills, the local fans voiced their displeasure by stating overwhelmingly they would not support the team if the Toronto Group was the purchaser. After several months of hearing the mob in the WNY region growing louder and louder, it became clear that one of 3 parties was going to have to address the situation. The NFL, the Trust or the Toronto group itself are full aware the massive hit that is going to be taken financially for the next 6 years or so given the lease arrangement. And so it is, the Toronto group, as I predicted were the first to come out and attempt to quell the fears of the people. The NFL will surely comment either directly or indirectly through some of the owners in turn, there is to much at stake. Regardless if the Toronto Group wins the bid or not, they now lay before the Buffalo local fan base, prostrate, for they would not make an effort such as this open letter were it not for those very real fears.

Correct. I will say there is no downfall, he owns the team, he can run it the way he sees fit. He made a decision then altered course and set in play a strategy in a different direction in an effort to achieve his goal. That's not a downfall, that's business. Correct again.

Bills officially for sale - let the bidding begin!
HopefulFuture replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could be. Someone mentioned how quiet it is on the Pegula front, outside of the NYP article which appears to be Stanley Morgan leaked. If I were a fan of the Bills (which I am), I'd be paying particular attention to that fact. Mr. Pegula certainly has a very loyal and solid team of individuals around him.
