  1. So, do you disagree with what I typed?: The MWC has prize money of $38M and the WWC is $4M ($2M when they signed their deal)....................So, the US federation or whatever it's called gets WAYYY the ***** less from FIFA to pay them.
  2. Did you read the article?
  3. So, I finally ran into an article that actually digs into the discrepancy between the mens and womens pay. The article tried to be anti-mens team, but it revealed what I had figured the situation was. The MWC has prize money of $38M and the WWC is $4M ($2M when they signed their deal)....................So, the US federation or whatever it's called gets WAYYY the ***** less from FIFA to pay them. The women get salaries. The men is all based on bonuses (which the women also get - but they actually DID get because they won the WC and the men didn't even make it!) So, it's the bonuses that are unequal - due to the amount brought into FIFA being way different. https://www.theguardian.com/football/ng-interactive/2019/jun/28/revealed-the-731003-gender-pay-gap-in-us-world-cup-bonuses
  4. Thanks for nothing, France!
  5. I've reached my limit of WaPo stories. Foiled again!

  7. This is pretty well thought out for somebody who rarely agrees with torture...
  8. I used to think this, but then in the last few years, I've heard of so many fathers who just took off on their families back in the 20s and 30s.
  9. I guess we actually do. I always thought 12, but it's 12 pairs: 24 ribs The human rib cage is made up of 12 paired rib bones; each are symmetrically paired on a right and left side. Of all 24 ribs, the first seven pairs are often labeled as 'true.' These bones are connected to the costal cartilage, while the five other 'false' sets are not.Mar 20, 2015
  10. It was the Southern border? I saw a pic on twitter saying it was the Rio Grande!
  11. I can't believe she's only 33 years old. She looks like she's 50.
  12. So, Mayfair employees are going to walk out because they sold beds to a non profit providing beds for the children in detention centers..............Beds. They don't want the kids to have beds!
  13. I don't get it. If somebody is winning after one period, why would you have another.
  14. Speaking of which, I had espn radio on last night, and learned that the US is the 6th to score 20 goals before the quarterfinals. History!
  15. I wonder if this will start a trend of "Voice of the" guys ripping into the team's coaches.................I'll have to listen to John Murphy today to hear him get after McDermott.
  16. I don't know if there is any other way, but it seems ridiculous to me that in a game where goals are so hard to come by all of a sudden you give a team a 75% or so chance of scoring. That 2nd 15 minute overtime - why?!? Didn't the US lose to Japan after being ahead after the 1st OT 8 years ago? Why would you have a second one??
  17. I was wondering that myself. I was thinking that if enough guys got good at it, they would outlaw it.
  18. So, this nonsense is done to keep things like they were back in the day - when stopwatches weren't invented?!? If they didn't go to video reply, I"d actually give them a lot of credit for that.
  19. The thing I like least about hockey is not really seeing a lot of goals or crazy saves in real time. I did not catch what he did at regular speed.
  20. Subtlety such as calling video replay VAR!!
  21. it seems like nobody has mentioned Frank Reich's first start. MNF vs. Rams in '89...............The game -it's story lines (OJ out, Kelly out), the way the scoring went in the last few minutes, etc. was pretty much the exact same game as the great Raider MNF opener of '74.
  22. Or, you can answer my question.
  23. Definitely guilty as charged. WTF would real fans love that part of the game?? Such not a fan that I need to know what VAR is??
