  1. How could you have all these unique critiques of him and say he writes the same story as all the writers on the same topic? If he did that, he'd blend in with the rest of them instead of standing out for such harsh criticism. So, you're critiquing him because he wrote the same thing basically after Jovan B. And, I'm sure if he wrote something different, you'd say he's contradicting himself.
  2. It is true that this is so skewed by who is reporting...........The parts that I have seen live though have been a joke in terms of the prosecution. I would be like Wait - how was that a witness for the state?
  3. I get all fired up when I see a Simmons mailbag or column on something of interest to me. But, I hardly ever make it through all the way. They go on and on and on.... Rick Reilly I think was a great writer when he was with SI doing features, etc. My favorite by a mile at the time...........He started mailing it in when he got the weekly back page column. And, on espn he's just unreadable now. He's not even that old to have been on the downside now for at least 15 years. He's also an egomaniac.
  4. I agree with him on what pop culture does to society...............There is no effing way that he's "a caricature of the "sports writer" who writes the same story all the others write on the same topic."
  5. Are they the same people who say "they" have a cure for cancer, but "they" are making too much money to let it out.........And, that AIDS and crack cocaine were invented to wipe out the black community?
  6. They have people posting that we should let this thread die, too?
  7. How so? Thanks for reading it............Good article by Gabriel, too. Interesting how he was such a bad character and yet the Pats picked him..........And, who knew about the gangs of Connecticut??
  8. I love this article by Jason Whitlock: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/whitlock-aaron-hernandez-byproduct-of-society-not-aberration-tony-soprano-jay-z-gang-drug-culture-pervasive-in-society-070113
  9. I read a few not so good things on twitter, and I think Alan Sepinwall is the best critic out there and he said there just isn't much story to it. He said he won't be reviewing it, like he did weekly for Mad Men and others and way back for NYPD Blue. I used to read him every week back then.................He said the first episode was the strongest of the five they got to watch.
  10. Where is that Corey woman who brought these charges? That woman made me want to shoot the TV, Elvis style. I really hope that her thinking is not what most black people think like - and that she has very little influence............What a !@#$ing hatemonger.
  11. I was planning on watching Ray Donovan, but I found the reviews not to be very good. What reviews did you see?
  12. Does anybody know GZ's 40 time? WTF - does he think if this was actually a chase that GZ could catch TM?
  13. Does anybody know how long it was from the time that GZ first saw TM to the time they started to fight?
  14. I just listened to an Adam Carolla podcast from this week where he said OJ putting on the glove was like watching an infomercial, where they are showing "the old way." Having a friggin rubber glove on didn't help matters!
  15. And, Mike Grier was actually Rosie Grier's nephew - and his father and brother are scouts in the NFL.........Really cool that those athletic bloodlines transfer to hockey. It really looks like hockey is becoming more integrated and I hope it keeps going that way.
  16. Yes, people have to just stop posting in here.
  17. Crap - then surely they can find somebody else!
  18. "An American Mystery" There is no mystery here as to who killed those two.
  19. Thanks. That's the post I was thinking of when I said he already said he's just trying to get a rise out of everybody. Of course he then denied he ever said such a thing.
  20. I am really surprised about this. That game and then what followed was rather shocking. 83 was not that bad of a year. 8-8 and really in the playoff chase most of the way................I didn't go to this game, but I did go the opener in 85 and I'm almost sure that was soldout or close, and that was coming off the horrible season 84 turned out to be.
  21. That actor in those Naked Gun movies looked a lot like him. I wonder what that guy is up to now?
  22. And players jerseys - esp. retro ones - were not nearly as prevalent as they are today.
  23. That's funny how their egos are that big about such things!
  24. Who cares about this year? We're talking about 2016!
