  1. I remember it being something like 4th and 15 with the game on the line, and Flutie scrambled for 15 yards and one inch. He had "it."
  2. Yeah, because all they do is argue during football season!
  3. He just said he is about 90% wanting the Bills to stay. Haha
  4. I thought we had dismissed Trump...
  5. I've got to say that I'm lucky because out of all these mentioned, the only games that I did not attend were the Jets game in 1968 (my six year old brain said Hey, I'll bet anybody in the house the Jets beat the Bills. My grandmother bet me a buck. And, she let me out of it, when against all odds, I lost the bet!), the 1973 Chiefs game that I was too sick to go to, and the 1981 Pats Roland Hooks game (that I ended up with a funny story about my father anyway, by listening on the radio). All the rest - I was there! (Home games only)
  6. Ah - a year in the MIddle East will definitely thin your blood!...............I remember that Chiefs game as being a relief because the Dec. 26th game vs the Jets and then the first rounder vs. the Raiders were by far the coldest games ever here. That week between the Raiders and Chiefs game, I am sure that a record number of hand warmers, etc. were sold. They were at the checkout of every 7/11, gas station, etc.
  7. Yeah, but then they couldn't get jobs because they were felons. The devil is always in the details!
  8. If you froze at that game, you should have been there the week before!
  9. This is what hampered my athletic career, as well.
  10. I read up a little earlier on him. Flutie actually started into November, and then Brees took over so I think he only had 6 games or less his rookie year.............And, then his 2nd year, he started and they went 8-8. It might be a pretty decent example or what I was looking for. I wonder if there are any where they guy started day one, and was mediocre at best. And, is now a franchise QB..................I do think it would be better for teams to do the old way of not starting until year 3 or so. Pennington would have been a franchise QB if he hadn't been screwed by his shoulder, and when he took over in year 3, he was ready.
  11. I had been looking forward to that since the day we got tickets for it...........And, then I was sick as a dog that day. I argued and argued, but for some reason my parents didn't think an 11 year old should go to a night football game when they are crazy sick........It turned out they were right. I'm laying in bed with the radio and Rick Azar starts with "What do 80,000 people do on a cold rainy night - go to a football game!" I don't remember the carries per game record. What I do remember is he set a record for being the earliest to ever get to 1000 yards (7 games)
  12. Good job on the numbers. Like I said, it's all about increasing your odds of getting a franchise QB.
  13. My memory is that he played really good to great right from the beginning. And, SD still didn't believe in him because of his size, and drafted Rivers. But, I think even then Brees started. And, I think he would have been a huge free agent if he hadn't been hurt with such a serious injury.
  14. Who is a good recent example of somebody who had an iffy year or two and then became a franchise quarterback. I think maybe Eli would fit that decription. I don't remember exactly his rookie year, but I remember him getting towards bust territory and then he went on that 2007-08 Super Bowl run. Now, he's not looking so hot again. I just keep thinking of guys like Joey Harrington who were put out there their rookie year and then just never improved.
  15. I think we're used to it because of Jim D. But, it was pretty funny then. And, I'm pretty sure he had some alcohol issues that fit his name perfectly.
  16. This game was an exact same replica of This game. Both had the 3 TD scenario. The Bills had their best player out (OJ/Kelly). They couldn't do crap all game. Score a TD with about two minutes or so left. We think we have the game won. Other team scores a lightning fast TD. We think we are cooked. No way does this crappy offense get all the way down the field again. (Reich was horrible in his game - first start ever). But in both cases, they pull off a late miracle by scoring again! We were doing the Rashad move in the street all the next day. I believe on Willie Brown, of all people. Both were MNF games, too.
  17. I believe it. I don't know what our parents were thinking - letting us 16 year olds go to the show in '78, where people had just come back from Woodstock. There were no assigned seats and drug dealers just set up shop on the floor. One had a sign that said "Wanna OD? Come see me."
  18. The reason you don't remember it has less to do with age, and more to do with the fact that most of that never happened. Indeed, they did suck, and I was greatly disappointed. They were like gods to me at 16 years old, and this was the first time seeing them. It was Fourth of July by the way, and it was $12 a ticket. I still have it. But, they didn't stop due to an afternoon wind storm, and people weren't throwing fireworks at the stage due to said stoppage. I remember thinking Jagger is insanely athletic for somebody 35 years old (I thought that was ancient). The one thing the fans were throwing were frisbees, and he was doing all his Jagger moves and seemed to have eyes in the back of his head, and would duck just as one was about to hit him. It became all part of his dance. The part that sucked the most was they played something like 70 minutes. Maybe a little longer. Did no encore (and that's what I thought they were saving Satisfaction for) and were definitely wasted.
