I finally figured out why it seemed like we worse when I was a kid. I had thought it was just because years when you're a kid go so much slower.
But, the first year I was aware and understood that crazy game my father and uncle watched every Sunday was 1968. We had 1 win. Then, we had 4, 3, 1 and 4 win seasons after that.
My high school years were kind of the same - 2, 3, 5 and 7..........Then, the first 3 years after college - 2, 2 and 4.
This whole drought seems like we're 6 to 9 wins every year. Mostly 7-9 type stuff. We've only had 2 or 3 seasons of the 16 that were as bad as those other dark eras.
I remember the joke used to be that the Detroit Lions were the team that was least relevant and nobody had any feelings for - they were never horrible and never any good. (This was in the 80s, etc). That's who we are now.
