  1. Sounds like how the whole Hillsborough thing went to down in England. The venue, etc. totally screwed up and they blamed the fans for being drunk, etc.............Most Brits are still as mad as you are about that. I knew that the fans thought the show had started for some reason, but didn't know they had turned the lights down and started to play Quad. A night later, my friend was driving me nuts ordering stuff at a stand when I knew they were coming on. I didn't hear them say "This is for the friends we lost last night." And, then I heard Substitute starting, and I started jumping up and down telling him "Let's Go!!!!..................And, a cop came over and made me settle down. (I swear the security was one for every fan that night!)
  2. It was SOOOO good..........They must have taken some short cuts on the credits, because it just said Surfing USA - Chuck Berry.................I also saw that it said Sloop John B - Brian Wilson.............When, it's actually an old folk song from the Bahamas or something like that.
  3. My favorite song of those early days is Surfing USA. I didn't know until I watched the credits roll for Love and Mercy (which you have to see, if you haven't) that it's a Chuck Berry song! Those last few sentences should unforunately all be in the past tense. Anything you're writing on this, I'm reading! Always wanted to hear from somebody who was there. It was such an emotional time in my life. We were seeing our beloved Who for the first time on December 4th, and then this shocking thing happens the night before.
  4. Are they college grads?
  5. I went to both those Rod concerts. I had had tickets a number of times before and he either cancelled or I had to bail.................I'm a huge Rod fan.
  6. This!
  7. Not at the price Byrd wanted.
  8. Wow - I can't believe you were in the middle of that horrible night! You and I were at a lot of the same concerts. This one I awesome seats. 1st row golds by the stage. Time Magazine's cover story of The Who had all their pictures from our section. Obviously, the story was about the night before............There was so much security at that concert!
  9. Everything does unless it's country rock (exempting the Dixie Chicks, because they are liberal). All conservative country acts are horrible per Jeff Miers.
  10. Ha - the jokes on him. He states that yesterday and today we're getting a Bass Pro!: http://strictlybusiness.buffalonews.com/2016/10/03/bass-pro-coming-wny-thanks-purchase-competitor-cabelas/
  11. I always just figured the East Village is east of Greenwich Village?
  12. All I want to know is When did he sustain this injury??
  13. If that doesn't work out, I'd use Priceline. That's usually what I use there. Naming in your own price is good. There are a couple of sites that are good to check out for pricing - biddingfortravel and betterbidding I think is the 2nd one.
  14. Thanks. I'll have hope that they'll both be back then.
  15. Is Shaq on IR? If so, then only one is coming back.
  16. Thorogood rocked the rain away! Or, at least that's what he claimed. The rain definitely stopped...........I'm pretty sure Journey opened on 7/4/78 for the Stones and were pretty well received. Wheel in the Sky and all that.............But, three short years later, which seemed like a lifetime then, they were sellouts and nobody wanted that Steve Perry crap!
  17. Journey after Thorogood and before the Stones was the only time I ever saw a band literally booed off the stage.
  18. That would ruin a lot of sitcom plots from the 80s.
  19. It's not really a question of stamina since '99. Back then, we didn't stand for every friggin play of the whole game! I do agree that games are no worse than they used to be - and actually tamer. My father took me to games every year since I was 6 in 1968. I actually don't remember problems at the Rockpile. But, I do remember super drunk people at Rich, especially on MNF. Then, in the 80s, it was ridiculous. There were fights all over (now that I think about it, I haven't seen one this year at all).........I saw an entire section get thrown out in '86 vs. Pats. MNF for Dolphins in '84 and Jets in '83 were melees. And, there were plenty more.
  20. Apparently not: The coach said his understanding is that the issue was more about pain tolerance than the structural soundness of Watkins' foot, on which he underwent surgery after suffering a stress fracture at some point in during the offseason.
  21. Haha - that is an odd combo. I hope you saw Jersey Boys, at least!............Good job seeing Bruce!
  22. But, I bet you never had another health problem after that. That had to be Miami Stadium, where the Orioles had spring training In a terrible part of town where there were big time riots I think in 1988. In 1980, on Easter Sunday, saw The Rockets, then Molly Hatchett - who were super super late, and then Bob Seger, who was my favorite at the time. Pouring rain, but it was the best I saw up to that point. I saw Stevie Wonder in 1986, and I see that he hasn't improved. Got those tickets for free. The concerts that I went for free - Stevie, Van Halen in 1979 or 1980 and again in 2004, and AC/DC - were all my least favorite concerts and I wanted my money back! The best 30 I've seen: 1. U2 - December 2005 at FNC 2-28 The 27 times I've seen Bruce Springsteen 29-30 - The other two times I've seen U2
