  1. They went all in for 2022 which I think was the right move and then had the most injury ridden season they have had under this regime. That is awful luck. But it happens. The Rams had better luck. They went all in for 2021 and won it all then the injury bug bit back in 2022. That is why I say sometimes you need luck as much as judgment to win a Lombardi. I didn't like the restructure on Von. Because I thought a 3 year gamble was defensible. It is now 4 years before the contract is escapable.
  2. So am I but I still don't think we have seen Spencer Brown's best football. It is ahead of him IMO. I am not against an OT at #27, and if that guy beats out Brown, so be it. But I wouldn't just throw Brown to the curb yet. There is still talent in there.
  3. That would be a bad move. Trading Oliver for picks in this draft makes no sense. None at all. If they trade him for a guy who can make a difference on offense now, immediately, I am here for it. Trading him for a pick in a garbage draft is nuts. I'd rather let him play out the year and take the comp pick later.
  4. Agree with the bolded. Ford is better as a 1T and even Pete Carroll has said that. He would be a clear step down from Ed.
  5. Agreed. If the Bills can use him to do that they should look to do it.
  6. He was playing as well any edge rusher in football last year. Whether he can be the same guy off a second ACL at his age is a fair question.
  7. But any move away from him is almist certainly a significant downgrade. You only do that to get something good back in return. A mid round pick in this ***** draft ain't it.
  8. They had the best QB and best HC in football, together, at the same time. And they had a weak division that meant they could experiment early in the year and try stuff out safe in the knowledge the division was in the bag. That is why they were always able to peak late.
  9. Seumalo was the best option on the market to me. How he ended up signing for that price I am not sure. Has been a slow FA period generally. After throwing money around last year it is as if the entire league has decided this is an off season to pay the piper and has shown some restraint. But McGovern is an upgrade on Saffold. McGovern is a solid young guard with a good anchor in pass pro. Saffold was an overrated, old turnstile.
  10. This. He wasn't great in 2022. Which is likely why he is still out there. But had he hit FA last season he would have been one of the first guards signed. Could be a classic Daryl Williams buy low scenario. If he returns to 2021 form he is better than Ryan Bates.
  11. Yes please, I still think there is upside in Edwards. I think he has some RT flex as well. He played outside in college.
  12. Jalen Carter (presuming the off field stuff checks out) Will Anderson That is where the guys I am confident can be true difference makers ends. I'd probably take Paris Johnson Jnr with the 3rd selection.
  13. In the same spirit as Hyatt and Harrison making my round 1 list in the other exercises I'll say Simpson, Sanders and Campbell at #27 though would have to grit my teeth. None in addition at #59. Henley and Williams would come into my thinking at #91 if either was still there as would Henry To'oTo'o Owen Pappoe and Noah Sewell if they are still there.
  14. If he gets to Dallas right in front of us he gets no further.
  15. Not many teams would have gone 13-3 with the injuries the Bills had last year, but Beane has generally built good depth to the Bills roster. He rarely misses totally on draft picks, most guys he has drafted (even on day 3) can play in the NFL. The knock is not enough difference makers. And while certainly first round tilts have been towards defense the problem with the wider perspective (where it is more even) is that the high picks he has spent on offense, other than Dawson Knox, have not hit. Ford (one of his few busts), Singletary (decent back but a 1 contract guy here), Moss (traded before the end of his rookie deal), Cook (tbc). Three of his 4 highest selections on offense aside from Josh have been running backs. Bad position value and not guys that have really balled out.
  16. Yea I have him behind Zeke and Barkley too. I had a 1st on Fournette, which was a miss, but didn't have a first on any of Etienne, CEH, Jacobs, Penny, Michel or Najee. The only other backs I had a 1st on in the period since Zeke were Dalvin Cook and Jonathan Taylor. I think Bijan is missing that home run hitter ability for the NFL. Don't love his long speed and think he can be a bit of a straight line runner once in the open field. But he has everything else. At the moment Bijan is =3 among those guys with the grade I had on Fournette.
  17. Where would you rank him against Zeke and Saquon who were probably the last two "can't miss" top 10 type running backs? On Harris, he is a short yardage / power back. He isn't an every down player. Do they think they have enough with him and Cook to build a consistent run game? Will be interesting to see.
  18. Fair play. I mean that is RIDICULOUSLY cheap. Way under market value. But you are right it suggests that Knox would have been underpaid too had he hit FA this spring.
  19. I mean their only league game since then they drew 0-0 at home to bottom of the league and they progressed yesterday because Fulham self destructed and ended up with 9 men and no coach. The Liverpool result at least got rid of any absurd notion that they were in a title race. But I do take your point, one result doesn't define any team or any coach or any player. ETH has overseen a season of progress at United and that is the big picture. The Bills are still one of the best teams in the NFL and that is the big picture too.
  20. He does have votes but only a handful. Think it was single figures over 5 years.
  21. Point 1 - I really suspect so, which I think probably means a no to Downs. They might still consider Flowers because I think some teams will convince themselves he can play outside (I have my doubts). Point 2 - same. I don't have a true 1st round grade on him because he consistently plays smaller than his size and his hands catching skills are sub optimal. But gives the speed / size / production you are getting and the weak class around him if he drops to #27 I think you have to roll the dice. Point 3 - I think Tillman could be a Gabe Davis. I think he will separate enough, but he isn't gonna be a big separation guy, he is a possession receiver. I like Rice's tape better than Tillman's but his display at the senior bowl is a legit concern. But again... in the class they are in... at #59.... I think maybe you take a punt?
  22. Ha, I'm sure you are right. It is my problem in this draft, I don't think anyone I like will be there when we pick. I probably should have Harrison in my 1st round list too. The way I had Hyatt there for receivers.... I'd have to grit my teeth as I do it but I can live with that pick... he is becoming one of the better likely options for me. I think Dawand's technique is a mess. To me his best fit is somewhere where they wanna play power football and pound it down your throat. He doesn't fit a passing offense because his pass sets are inconsistent as hell and he ends up toppling over himself too often and he doesn't fit a stretch zone style scheme because I don't like him as a move blocker. Give me a scheme where the assignment is "plough ahead and push your guy back" and I can get to liking him enough for round 2, maybe. For the Bill? Nah. Probably not.
  23. Only Johnson, Skoronski (but I think he is a guard) and Jones at #27. Harrison, Bergeron, Mauch (but I think he is a guard) or Wright at #59.
  24. I hate the NFL.com WR rankings this year. They make no sense to me, but it just shows what a mixed up underwhelming class it is. Guys I could live with at #27 (wouldn't be delighted with any): Addison, Johnstone, JSN and Hyatt Guys I could live with at #59: Flowers, Downs, Tillman, Rice
