  1. I watch lots of game film. Nobody gets a grade on my board without seeing 3 full games of them (every snap, not just highlights) and there are players in this class that I have watched 6,7,8 full games of. EDIT: and while I have never done it as a job (it is strictly a hobby for me), I know a former NFL position coach pretty well, and I have a couple of former scouts, one current scout, and one well recognised talking head whose latest mock may or not be discussed on the front page of this forum who I can reach out to and know well enough that they will reply to me and I can discuss guys with.
  2. No. My previous low was 16 in 2015. That is not what I do. Like I don't claim to be Brandon Beane but that is not how I go about it.
  3. Kyler had 5 in 14 games his final year. Not awful but indicative of some sort of issue.
  4. He is my 5th. But he is 2nd round and he is strictly slot only. Hard pass at #27.
  5. True. But batted balls were a bit of an issue for Kyler in college too whereas they weren't for Bryce. But then maybe that is partly about quality of their respective olines too. Definitely a fair concern.
  6. I still don't think it will be Torrence. And I respect Charlie's mocks a lot.
  7. With the 5th pick of the 2023 Virgil mock draft (version 3.0), the Seattle Seahawks select: Jalen Carter, Defensive Tackle, Georgia Full disclosure, if he was here the Seahawks were taking Anthony Richardson. Once he wasn't we considered an opportunity to move back but were not interested in acquiring more picks in this draft, we wanted picks to move up next year for Geno's replacement. The other team wasn't interested in giving up 2024 capital so we stayed put and picked the best football player in the draft. Carter might have off the field concerns but I've got Pete freaking Carroll as my Head Coach and nobody does a better job of channelling a wayward soul into a darn good football player than Pete. Defensive Tackle is a big need too. Once we were picking at this spot it was a no brainer. @NewEra and the knee cap biting Detroit Lions are on the clock.
  8. I am not normally a big comps guy but there are a few in there that I have made at various points this draft season. Bryce Young - Deshaun Watson (I made in my QB evals thread) Peter Skoronski - Zack Martin Jalin Hyatt - Desean Jackson Will Levis - Carson Wentz
  9. Here now guys. Sorry been sitting on an interview panel all day. Have a trade offer to consider. Will revert ASAP.
  10. I am not arguing the toss on Luck. I was simply trying to come up with a QB who might have been considered as mentally prepared coming out as Young is. I couldn't think of anyone in the time I have been doing it (which takes you back to '14), and definitely nobody in 2013... so Luck was my guess. That was all my point was. Your opinion on Andrew Luck is well known.
  11. Winning football games comes down to more than one thing. When you are losing not everything you do is therefore a failure. Just as when you are winning not everything you are doing is therefore a success. The Bills could have made better picks that McKelvin and Whitner. But that does not make them busts. Otherwise almost every player ever drafted is a bust.
  12. No I don't think he gets to #27 either. But I have thought the teens is maybe the earliest but a few people seem to be on the Atlanta at #8 thing IF (and only IF) both Wilson and Anderson are off the board. If either is there they will be the pick. One other point on the original mock... I have it on very good authority that Skoronski would not get past Green Bay. If he is on the board at #15 he is their guy. That is his draft floor IMO. EDIT: if the Jets give up #13 to get Rodgers then maybe Skoronski goes there. White does fit their scheme I can see that pick. I have just been told by a guy very, very plugged into the Packers beat that they love Skoronski.
  13. Can someone remind me have they have Kincaid in for a visit? I don't think so.... but might have missed it.
  14. Wilson pick 3 is getting a lot of buzz. I have reached out to a couple of draft twitter types to test it but not had replies yet. I have, however, heard Bijan at #8 from someone who has been right before.
  15. Not written up in this depth I am afraid (just time constraints) but my composite draft thread will be out Wednesday, which includes a breakdown of my top 100 and my top 5 rankings at every position.
  16. I totally get it on the size. He would be the smallest guy ever to make it if he turned into a franchise guy. I get why that is hard to buy in to and it should surprise nobody if that ends up sinking him as a pro. All that being said he is as mentally advanced as anyone I can remember. Luck was just before my time evaluating but certainly since. If anyone is going to break that mold it is going to be this kid with a phenomenal grasp of the position. He is streets ahead of Tua and Mac from the same offense. You and I agree if he was 6'2 he would be slam dunk the first overall pick. The thing for Carolina is eventually they need to **** or get off the pot (that might be an English expression, apologies if so). They have traded up to #1, I'd take Young. I'd do so knowing there is risk involved but taking a QB in round 1, even first overall, and them not working out doesn't kill you for years anymore in the way it used to. It might sink a regime, sure. But I suspect David Tepper has instructed this regime that they need to take a swing on drafting a QB. So they might be damned either way.
  17. Yea he used in a bit in the playoff game. He looks naturally awkward running (which is odd given his athletic profile) but I agree if he could channel the athleticism into better performance when the play breaks down it would raise the ceiling. I broke down my grading in another thread recently. I need a higher standard from non premium position guys.... so for example a long term starter at a premium position is a 1st rounder but to be a 1st rounder at a non-premium position I want perennial all pro type.
  18. Yea we don't have the medicals. And this regime has been VERY wary of prospects without clean medicals early in the draft. I am not saying that will put them off Kincaid if he is there but it is definitely worth some consideration. If we take Mingo at #27 I might put through my very late night coffee cup through my TV.
  19. Yep. He is that. It's the ceiling that is the question. He struggles out of structure and I just wonder if there is enough gamer there. But he will be the best of these as a rookie IMO.
  20. He has only done it once. There is absolutely zero evidence to the contrary.
  21. Add Woods and the legend of Kiko - first year of new regime. Both were decent picks even if Kiko didn't quite fulfill his potential and Woods ended up elsewhere.
  22. Yep. That is how teams do it from people I have spoken to. So my system 8.0 or above is true generational (none of those here). 7.0 or above is 1st round. 6.0 or above is 2nd round. 5.0 or above is third and so on.... You don't have to use the word round if that adds confusion for me it helps simplify it.
