  1. I don't agree with much of the rest of your post but as you know I always try and be fair and this para I do agree with. McDermott definitely has a "control freak" element to his personality (not necessarily a bad thing a lot of coaches do) but I think he does basically have his people in all the key positions now - GM, AHC, OC, senior defensive assistant. He has known Leslie forever of course as well but behind the quiet, calm demenour Leslie is made of steel and I think he would absolutely push back behind closed doors. We know there was tension at the end between he and Dabes. One thing I should say for Dorsey is that he actually did pretty well for a first timer last year and he was Daboll's first choice to go with him as OC in New York (I think he had two other teams - Jags and Bears - wanting to make him OC at that point too so he was legitimately one of the next cabs off the rank league wide). So there must be more to him than just being a McDermott patsie. Hopefully he has learnt frome some of the mistakes he did make last year.
  2. You are correct. Again, not sure if that proves anything. A bit like the original stat from @Einstein it is interesting but does not suggest causation. The point with Sean Payton for me (and I think he is second only to Andy Reid as a play caller) is that he had an elite level future HOF Quarterback for 15 years, won 1 Superbowl, missed the playoffs multiple times and has a list of disastrous playoff exits to teams the Saints were better than. It is one thing losing playoff games to Deshaun Watson, Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow. It's another losing to Matt Hasselbeck, Rex Grossman and Case Keenum. If the argument is about the Bills underachieving in the playoffs the antidote to that can't be Sean Payton, as good of a coach as I believe him to be.
  3. Yea but I just know if any of those past examples have any bearing at all on the Bills now. That causation link just isn't there. It is interesting data, but it is no more than that.
  4. Mine was even worse 'cos it wasn't particularly that I was pro Rosen (though he was my QB1)... I was ABA... Anyone But Allen. I felt like I'd seen that film - big toolsy guy, questionable decision maker and raw mechanics - too often and the ending was always the same. Delighted to be wrong.
  5. I know what the numbers are... but there is just nothing that allows you to draw a conclusion. Every situation in the NFL is so different and so unique. There are so many variables.
  6. The ticket industry generally is a huge mess and needs properly regulating. There are people out there making absolute fortunes out of shafting people out of seeing their favourtie band / comedian / show / sports team.
  7. Basically a different streaming app. NFL outsourcing the tech.
  8. @BritBill - just had the email. Game pass going to DAZN.
  9. Yes but that still isn't a "struck gold". Or else how do you ever differentiate between achievement and potential?
  10. That's all good. But you can't crown them yet.
  11. I know nothing about hockey, but I would say before you can declare him having struck gold they at least need to make the playoffs. I get it the Sabres looked like they were heading in the right direction, but before you can even begin to put those two in the conversation with McD and Beane they need some success beyond just stop the team being a perennial laughing stock.
  12. For sure but it shows as of right now the seat a lot cooler than some speculated. Doesn't mean they will definitely be here in 2027.
  13. Yep, agree. And probably, sad to say, Kim's health too. Not sure Terry is for ripping up the stability he has with the Bills unless he really has to with all the other factors.
  14. I think top 5 is slightly higher than I'd have them but I agree with the spirit of your comment.
  15. He is very good friends and I mean very good friends with someone who is still on the Bills staff. And none of the stuff he has ever shared with me has been in advance..... it has always been after the event... he isn't leaking draft intel 3 weeks before the draft, but multiple examples have later then been corroborated either by the team themselves or by mainstream NFL journos like Albert Breer and Peter King. You can attach whatever weight to it you like, I know I believe him.
  16. I think it shows the seat is a LOT cooler than a lot of fans want it to be and the media have speculated it is. I see almost no way this regime doesn't remain into 2024 at the very least. And the likelihood is the rope is a fair bit longer. Part of the reason why is surely that Terry knows he isn't great at these appointments. For all that McD and Beane ain't perfect and there are legit holes you can pick in both, they are overwhelmingly the two best hires that Pegs has made across multiple attempts for two franchises.
  17. No, I'm not, wasn't even aware it was on haha. Is it a ticketed thing? That said, Friday night is curry night with the other half and I'll be in trouble if I cancel that for Bills reasons.
  18. I think they carry 6 corners. I think Cam Lewis will end up elsewhere. Austin I think probably is a PS guy unless he really balls out in camp.
  19. Nope. But I met someone at an NFLUK event the night we drafted Sammy who is very well connected former position coach in the NFL. And one of his connections was on the Bills.
  20. The Titan WERE a potential CB team and took McCreary early in round 2. Also the Chiefs thad already got comfortable with the idea of the compensation to get to #21. And then rather than being left with the 4th of their guys there the 3rd was sitting there for them. Totally plausible that they said "well we were willing to do this for Elam and we like McDuffie more so it'd be mad not to." The fact that the Bills were in the corner market likely played a part. But I don't at all think the evidence supports "the Chiefs just wanted to jump the Bills specifically for McDuffie." Not late in the year. Elam played in playoff games. Benford was a healthy scratch. Benford was better early. Elam was better late.
  21. His interpretation is based on what we call in the trade "policy based evidence making."
