When you play for Kyle Shanahan you don't have the authority to change plays at the line beyond the very strict set rules. You paint by the numbers he draws or he dumps you and gets someone who will. In Kyle Shanahan's offense the Quarterback is an extension of Kyle's brain. That is how it has to work. It is non-negotiable.

Depends how much they are willing to kick the can. I actually like where they are cap wise this year. Can they go and trade for AJ Brown? No. Probably not. But they can probably bring one free moderate FA ticket in. I actually wouldn't be stunned if they went for Gabe Davis.

I think both will stay. The Chiefs have some cap questions, sure. But I can get them to $48m in cap space without a single "difficult" cut. That is more than enough for a relatively front loaded deal for Jones and backloaded deal for Sneed.

This is what I mean @Alphadawg7 when I say it is at least a good hypothetical compared to others.... the idea that Elam has equal trade value to Sutton is nonsensical. At least Elam for Burks makes some sense.

Does this team actually have the guts to move on from Tre White?

Most of the time (not quite always but most of the time) a player is cut by a team they never see another penny from that team let alone $1. The reason teams have dead money is because you have to account for every single penny you pay a player on your cap somewhere and the money that is dead is long since paid - normally in the form of a signing bonus. -

And most of them should make Free Agency. Dugger, Blackmon and Stone are the three questions for me but I think the rest will. -
Both of these are spot on IMO.

I wasn't saying do it. But most hypotehtical trades on this board make zero sense. This one does. Two first rounders who after two years are stuck in the bench and bad scheme fits. That is the kind of swap you could see happening. Not the usual omes floated.

I am not sure he would re-sign here would he? But I wouldn't hate the idea of Tyrod. I actually like the idea of Mason Rudolph if he shakes free. If you get the cut loose version we saw for the Steelers this year that is a guy you can win some games with if needs be.

I think this IS a draft to take a shot on a day 3 rookie. But most of them don't pan out. So you have to have a vet as well. If a rookie goes to camp and wins the #2 job, great!

Joe Schoen was the big Boogie Basham booster. No surprise he traded for him with the Giants. He LOVED the kid that year.

He is slow at this stage, but he still had a decent season. He was not close to a liability.

WR or Dlineman? What would be your main priority..
GunnerBill replied to BillMafia716ix's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would not reach on a player just to get a receiver but they reached over receivers for a corner two years ago IMO. I think receiver is priority #1, Dline is priority #2 and safety is priority #3. That doesn't mean you MUST draft them in that order, but that's the order of priority for me.- 100 replies

Whisper it quietly.... I'm not sure he ever was. He was at best a low end backup. Taylor Rapp is nobody's idea of a starting safety and yet he was 20 times better this year than Hamlin was even pre-injury last year. -
And he has a tenuous link to Kyle Shanahan.... which makes you God around here these days in that Shanahan and Lynch traded out of the spot where the Bears picked Trubisky.

That's fair on Hyde, it's a little unfair on Poyer. Through the first two weeks it was maybe true - but overall he still had an above average year for an NFL safety. He just isn't the all-pro type guy we remember. Find a good vet who can be the new lynchpin back there, let Poyer play his final year but draft a guy late day 2 or early day 3 to take over next year. That guy should get a chance to get on the field too because as the season wore on they swapped JoPo and Rapp in dime looks and Rapp was playing as the second safety with Poyer as a traditional dime almost playing like a linebacker. If he ends up outplaying Poyer, great, let him start and just bring Poyer in for dime looks. Are the kids not heirs? I think Jess is on record saying she wants to stay involved in sports after her career. She didn't necessarily say "I'd love to own the Bills" but I'd say without any deep knowledge she is the hair apparent.

6th or 7th round flier, sure. But he was the guy I thought had the best chance to really help himself at the Shrine Bowl and he was a disappointment. Don't see a lot explosion from him, looks like a relatively slow slot guy. Now that doesn't mean he can't play, Beas was a slow slot guy - but he was an UDFA for that reason.

Disagree with everything expect the radio one which I have no knowledge of. I do think Allen with Andy Reid has probably won a Superbowl though. Wouldn't say three but I reckon he'd have won one. Douglas as an upgrade on White and Singletary being better than Cook are laughably bad takes.

I am not missing anything. Kyle is a great offensive mind. He might be the best offensive schemer of all time. But he has blown double digit leads in three Superbowls now with baffling play calling and is without doubt benefitting from being in the weaker conference. He is a good coach who hasn't yet found a way to win a Lombardi. So is Sean McDermott.
