  1. I don't think it is McD holding him back. I see zero evidence to support that synopsis. I think Josh has to play better. It is one awful game, one great game, one average game. That pattern won't be enough.
  2. Ford? And in what bad way were you wrong about Benford? He has been steady.
  3. That is simply not true. Dion got beat on a 3rd down on Sunday (I think by Chase Young) but it is like his only major lost rep in 3 games. He has been very good to start this season. Especially in pass protection.
  4. Agreed on the wide receiver position. Dorsey didn't help on Sunday though. Think he called good games weeks 1 and 2. Less so this past week. I think they are leaning into the run game because James Cook has emerged as our 2nd most reliable way of getting yards after the Allen - Diggs connection. He is playing more consistently than any of the other receiving options. Kincaid is really having a tough time getting his route depths right.
  5. Lizzy Line is not a tube line and is not subject to the strike.
  6. Yea there are lots of ways of running comination coverage mixing man and zone. Belichick is someone who has classicly done it a lot. As others have said above the Bills have done it some with McDermott / Frazier too
  7. Relative to his peers (i.e. other starting MLBs in the league) Tremaine Edmunds was over his 5 years a slightly above average MLB. I was never someone who made excuses for him or someone who wanted the Bills to retain him. He didn't make enough impact plays. I just live in the reality with Edmunds and not at the extremes.
  8. I didn't need to watch highlight videos of Harty. I actually watched thebartist formerly known as Harris play in New Orleans. He has DEFINITELY lost some sped post his injuries. It isn't even in question to me.
  9. Little difference schematically. And the not making a adjustments thing is a myth. Over a two year period we had the best second half defense in the league. That wasn't an accident.
  10. The only people who carry umbrellas in London are the tourists and every time one of them pokes me in the side of the head with them outside a tube station they get barged. It is a toss up between the Chinese and the Americans who are the worst.
  11. Wow. Wow. I am reporting you to someone. A mod. The President. The United Nations. God. How very DARE you?
  12. I don't think that other one was a fumble. It definitely wasn't forward progress. But to me was a clear incomplete pass. Bang bang play. Receiver never establishes control, no "football move". Should have been incomplete.
  13. I think they might not blitz as much this week. The book on Tua before they got Hill was blitz him but because Hill wins so early in routes that isn't the play now. I would be doing as suggested earlier... some 3 man pressures, drop guys out, try and flood zones confuse Tua and make him hold the football. But first you have to stop the run game and put the game on Tua cos that allows your linebackers and secondary players to really focus on playing the pass if you can get them out of their run game early. You need to be able to discern what is schematic and what is play calling. Scheme wise other than a tweak at linebacker to really get them going downhill and less read and react it is virtually identical. This is 100% right.
  14. I'd still want other stuff on tape. There is tactical advantage there.
  15. It is not an either or but Leadership > Xs and Os for a Head Coach hire IMO.
  16. Josh needs to be allowed to make mistakes. He just needs not to make them. I long for the 2020 and late 2021 / early 2022 consistency. If we get that this is a Superbowl team. Without it what the rest do won't really matter. It always comes back to Quarterback.
  17. The most important skill for a Head Coach is leadership.
  18. Remember when Frazier did that on 3rd and long last year, Johnson and Hamlin misplayed the play and Waddle scored touchdown? The pitchforks were out!
  19. Harty WAS a speed threat both on gimmick plays and deep. He has had 18 months of almost constant leg and foot injuries. Doesn't look to have the same explosion now sadly. I quite liked the signing. I think he has been worthless through 3 weeks other than being surehanded enough on punt returns.
  20. I didn't see anyone on NFL Network say that. I can't speak for the other two. I tend to watch less Cowherd in the offseason.
  21. So first of all it was 4th and a long 1 not 4th and inches. Secondly while I didn't like the actual call, long term not running the stack sneak there was the right decision IMO. I know technically the game was still "live" but to all extents and purposes it was dead. They couldn't move the ball. I don't mind putting something else on tape for DCs to consider next time we have a 4th and 1. I wouldn't have put that on tape mind you.... I'd have done something a bit cleverer.... the old Nate Hackett fake FB up the gut PA to the tight end maybe. If it was 16-16 and he didn't run the stack sneak.... different story.
  22. The Bills can run the ball this year. I am sold. They are not San Fran or Philly, but they can run the ball. Upgraded at IOL and upgraded at RB.
  23. Same. It is a toss of a coin game IMO. Can see 34-31 type score.
  24. Dorsey did not call a good game against Washington. I agree. But actually we did run a few slants well in the game. We are bad at screens. It is partly we telegraph them and partly teams don't surge upfield in their rush v us anyway because of Josh's legs. The Ravens have had the same issue with screens and again it is because teams hold back on their rush a bit anyway because of Lamar's legs. And I think the redzone design is a legit critcism too. But over the first two games I thought Dorsey did a good job with gameplans and playcalling. This past week was a bit of a clunker for him.
