  1. I don't think it needs to be difficult for Terry to screw it up.
  2. I do. But I have 0.0% trust in Terry Pegula to get it right. He is the least competent of the 3 top men in the organisation. Which is mot an excuse for standing pat by the way. And I don't offer it as one. But my confidence that Terry wouldn't screw it up is extremely low.
  3. Honestly I think the right play today would be for Sean to relinquish playcalling and return to being a proper Head Coach. Concentrate on pulling the locker room together and righting this ship. I was never in love with the idea of him calling the defense and at the moment all the stupid blitzing is reminiscent of Rex Ryan. At the same time the offense is not executing at all and Sean doesn't have any answers because - in his own words - he isn't even watching all the offensive plays. So often in people, especially in leaders, their greatest strength is also their greatest weakness. I have no doubt McDermott's single mindedness has been an asset to him and to the Bills. But right now if it prevents him making the right calling and passing off play calling to Holcomb, Washington or Babich it is hurting him too.
  4. Josh has said some odd things in post game pressers all season. His overall behaviour and demeanour continue to be a little strange. He definitely sounds and looks like at the very minimum he has lost confidence in Dorsey. Meanwhile the offense he left is stuck in 2nd gear.... Not sure I believe this.
  5. I'd definitely cut Von. He is absolutely done. That was an all in for 2022 move, and luck wasn't on their side. It sucks but there it is. I'd keep Knox another year but I'd move off him after 2024. I still think he can play and his performances this year are not a true reflection of him. Yes he will be overpaid next year but it costs you more to cut him than to keep him in 2024. So the best "take your medicine" approach on Knox is actually keeping him 1 more year then cutting him. On Tre.... question 1 is where is his head at? Does he still want to play? If he does then I'd see if he is willing to leave some unguaranteed money on the table for a little bump in the guaranteed segment of the next two years. If I can bring his cap hits down with a pay cut of that nature I'd be inclined to keep him. There is merit for him to trying to come back again to a scheme and a team he knows rather than fighting through it and learning something new. If he isn't willing to move at all on the deal then you have to cut him.
  6. I think they are now retrospectively opponent adjusted. Not 100% but think that is how it works. After week 6 they start opponent adjusting and they don't only do it for the games from then on I think they go back and adjust for the entire season.
  7. Yea I think you are right too. I watched the 2020 49ers game back the other day and Josh was so much more "in control" than he is now. Against a talented defense and a top DC he carved them open and seemed to know what they were in almost before theu did. I do think there is a role for the OC in helping, so maybe Daboll was just better at preparing Josh for what he was going to see game to game. But I still say there is something different about Josh's demeanour, he just doesn't look as though his head is quite where it was.
  8. He is trying to play the entire down post snap. He needs to be better pre snap. Other factors play in of course but that is front and centre IMO.
  9. I think we will win 10. But whether 10-7 with 5 AFC defeats (if we lose at KC) would be enough I don't know.
  10. Ed was our best DL again yesterday. It is like as soon as he doesn't get a sack in a game people immediately go for him. Wasn't as dominant as he has been other weeks but he was solid.
  11. I mean the D line blew up two plays to push the Bengals out of Josh Allen gifted FG range. It is not like they did nothing. But I don't disagree they have guys up there not earning their corn. They have a Von Miller problem. He looks as slow as me right now.
  12. I wish I saw it in that black and white way. But I genuinely don't. Think it is a massive oversimplification of our problems. I will post my more considered thoughts later on when I get chance
  13. I said it in the GDT but at the moment Joe Burrow pre-snap is streets ahead of Allen. That they are rated so closely shows you how mecurial Josh Allen can be once the ball is snapped. But that is a hard way to live in the NFL. I think maybe a different OC could help him with that. Simplify some of what he is reading, maybe Daboll was better at that. But Josh has gotta start winning a few snaps before the ball is in play.
  14. And while part of the conversation with Gabe is does he get open often enough (and that is likely part of the low targets without the advantage of the A22 yet) his two targets he was open and Josh needs to make a better throw. He was late on the throw that led to the INT and he needs to throw a more catchable ball on the one in the endzone cos Davis had his man beat and if Josh puts a bit of touch on that ball its 6.
  15. Agree. Trying to turn James Cook into the bogeyman is a weird reaction to what we are seeing. He had that one reception where he shoulda gonw straight ahead and tried to bounce but otherwise he got what was there for him. The issues lie elsewhere.
  16. I don't think they are trying to play 24-18 games. The offense just cannot string good drives together. Turnovers. Penalties. Blown protections (looking at you Spencer Brown). Miscommunications. Just a general lack of any rhythm. Over the last five games we are averaging 20.2 points. That isn't good enough. Especially when your defense is beat up and you are pulling guys off the practice squad and the street to play meaningful snaps for you. It hasn't been a muderers row of offenses I geant you but since losing 3 key guys and with various others missing time the D is giving up 21 through the last 5. That should be enough to win you games when you are paying an elite QB elite QB money.
  17. It is the sitting there staring ahead blankly, softly shaking his head look, even when Brady is there next to him. I don't know. I still think there is something going on in Josh's head.
  18. They are down their two biggest playmakers on D - Milano and White. They don't have enough playmakers on O. I don't think the team the Bills put on the field last night is good enough to win a Superbowl. The team that bashed Miami up? That team had a shot. But what has happened since starting with Tre's achillies at the end of that game has ended any title hopes this year. That does NOT mean that everyone else, GM, coach, QB, players left gets a pass. They don't. But the Bills are not a Superbowl team this year. Can they scrape into the playoffs is the question.
  19. Agreed. I will post fuller thoughts on where culpability for this lies later on... but even if you win that challenge it is a terrible challenge. Down 2 scores inside 6 minutes to play a TO >>>>>>> 2nd and 1.
  20. Totally agree. This wasn't the playoff game where the Bills sleepwalked around. They tried their asses off last night. The defense especially who added the three long term losses lost Bernard and Benford relatively early. Did they make some execution errors? Yes. Were there some frustrating play calls on both sides? Yes. But this was a game in which the Bills really, really tried against a more talented team. Unfortunately they couldn't get it done.
