Frank allegedly pushed very hard for him. Yet again his choice of Quarterback sinks him. For someone who played the position his choices at the spot have been atrocious. I don't think Reich is a good coach though in any event.

I don't agree that it equates to a 3 year drought, but I do agree with the rest of the post. This team as currently constituted is done. Allen apart how many of this team are you willing to put in stone as day 1 starters in 2025. Kincaid, maybe Torrence, Cook, Ed Oliver, possibly Groot (and some might challenge that). Everyone else could conceivably be gone in the next two years.

Ben Johnson is the outstanding candidate partly because I don't actually believe he is this super creative offensive whizz kid the reputation paints him as. I think he has success not because he does anything super innovative (certainly not in the pass game at least) but because he absolutely knows what his players can do and what they can't and he leans into that and designs an offense accordingly. That translates much better to successful Head Coach than an Xs and Os genius. Gives me much more confidence that he can lead effectively because he understands who his players are. The rest of the market is thoroughly uninspiring to me. But you don't decide whether to keep your coach based on who is or isn't available. You evaluate whether your coach should be fired first and then you move onto the 2nd question if you decide to can him.

If we miss the playoffs I'd move on. I think it would be the right call. I have been pretty sceptical that Terry would. But this is interesting.

And that is how it works. Beane runs personnel. On his draft picks he is ultimately accountable. I have spoken directly to one guy who has been in the building and through an intermediary to another - both confirmed that Beane is in charge of the draft and while McDermott and the coaching staff have input and influence the picks are Brandon Beane's. He isn't a puppet GM just picking who the coaches tell him. In fact both said the guy he listened to most of all on draft picks was Joe Schoen even above McDermott.

While there have been games this season - New England, Denver, Tampa - where I think the defensive playcalling has been a significant factor in our defeat I am not sure it was yesterday. The majority of the 2nd half defensive issues were execution issues by the players - especially the secondary. I remain completely underwhelmed by McDermott's work as DC... but that is a broader point than yesterday. I actually think he called a nice game yesterday for the most part (talking purely defensive playcalls rather than TO usage etc) but unfortunately our players really struggled to execute in that second half. I think yesterday was a game the Bills players gave away more than anything. I think Xs and Os we won the battle.

It is beyond time for him to hand over the DC reigns. That has not worked.

The secondary struggled. Hyde was terrible, Poyer was okay but not great and as I warned the people giving out flowers to Rasul Douglas based on a game against Wilson and Boyle might have wanted to wait a week - the Eagles exploited him.

Micah was bad yesterday. Two of the touchdowns were on him. Father Time remains undefeated.

I mean I will probably come to America what, 4 maybe 5 more times in my life? There are lots of places I would much rather visit than Philly. So it is just being realistic. If someone suddenly said "you have to go there for work" it isn't like I'd refuse. Just don't see that happening.

Yea cos of player errors. Two of those TDs are pure and simple on Micah Hyde. Nothing wrong with the defense called. Player error.

We made adjustments. It was players making boneheaded plays.

They can fire McDermott. As long as 9/10s of the players go too. Dumb football players lost us that game. Nothing else.

That was definitely NOT on coaching. We outcoached Philly. Players lost that game.
