Week 3, Jagoffs v. Bills, GAME BALLS!
GunnerBill replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not for nothing but the highest graded starter on the Bills yesterday via PFF was Dorian Williams, just ahead of Greg Rousseau and Josh Allen. Two guys graded higher - Solomon and Elam - but they only played 14 snaps each. Williams was a disaster in London last year. Coming in early for Milano the Jaguars isolated and exposed him. Yesterday was BY FAR his best game as a Bill. -
The combat for this so far has been our OC has done an outstanding job.

Not to mention the Patriots.

Is this the best coaching we have seen in the JA era?

I think both the young coordinators have made strong starts, I will say that much. Better than Frazier and Daboll at their peak? TBC. The way to prove that is in the post season. -
Keon Coleman - benched 1st quarter for being late
GunnerBill replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea I thought it was telling McD didn't want to get into whether it was a game or practice but did say he was impressed with the way Keon had handled it. Made me suspect this had happened in the week rather than on gameday. -
Panthers, Giants, Browns in 3 of their next 4. They have to win those 4 to get to worst case 3-4. That division is going to beat itself up. The Ravens are only 1-2 (hopefully 1-3 by this time next week) and the Steelers are 3-0 paper tigers. There is still a route for Cincy if they can win 3 of their next 4.

Possibly. I don't recall but it is the sort of noise I'd happily just cancel out so you may well be right.

I am crossing my fingers and hoping he can avoid the sort of niggling injuries that have befallen him at times the past two years (most of which have come in the pocket I should say not from rushing). Because at the moment Josh Allen looks more dialled in than I have ever seen him and more in control of this offense than at any point since 2020. Keep him clean, keep protecting him, and he might not need a true #1 to win you know. He might be such an equaliser that as long as he is protected you can win with slot guys, tight ends, backs from the backfield and outside guys who block and make the odd play. There was another AFC East Quarterback who you could say that about I seem to recall. There are tougher tests to come but hard to not be encouraged. When did we go ultra conservative? Last night? Are you for real? We were still blitzing Mac Jones and we scored a touchdown on our final drive of the game. Where was the ultra conservatism? Seriously this is a crazy statement. It comes down to "I hate McDermott for 13 seconds so I will take a shot at him even when it's not deserved." Fine.

Still classless.

Davis never had attitude problems. He was beloved in the locker room and considered an A+ teammate. Did he and Josh struggle to be on the same page - especially in 2023? Yes. But that was nothing to do with attitude or approach. His injury was left shoulder and he did not look happy with it at all. Hope it is minor for his sake.

Give some love to the big guys up front
GunnerBill replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall
The line has been VERY impressive so far. And when I watch almost every other game in the league and the line is torpedoing offenses left, right and centre.... it's impressive what the Bills group is doing. Pray they stay healthy and they keep Josh Allen clean because he is dealing.- 57 replies

Keon Coleman - benched 1st quarter for being late

@Nephilim17 told you it was likely discipline related. -
It was their O week 1. It has been their D since.

Week 3, Jagoffs v. Bills, GAME BALLS!
GunnerBill replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea hard to single guys out tonight. I will throw in a name that hasn't been mentioned though - Dorian Williams. I thought he played the run really well tonight. No overshooting his gaps, no losing lane discipline and while the game was "live" the Jags could get nothing at all going on the ground. All their best runs were garbage time.
