I agree, I don't have proof of that. But I don't think the stats show that either. They just show at this split rate between slot and wide he is capable of producing at broadly equivalent rates. Everything after that is speculation. And it is speculation that we will likely never get an answer too. Because he is going to be a 70% plus slot guy his entire career.

It is fair to say there isn't a big difference in terms of production per snap inside and out. Slight favour for the slot, but not a ton. I just don't know that you can extrapolate though. It's different using a guy out there a bit when you can scheme cleverly than doing it anything like consistently when teams will start making him win more convetnionally.

A lock? No. Still think he likely will at some point. He has been great. But it looks like a sad end. -

Howie Roseman getting Mitchell and DeJean in the same draft.... I still can't understand how the rest of the NFL let it happen. I do think Tucker HAS lost some leg power. But it is more than that too. It is such a repetetive process as soon as you lose it it can go quickly. -
Yea their average depth of target is 10.4 for McConkey and 4.0 for Shakir. But I have never made the argument that they are exactly the same player or used exactly the same way in their offenses (Bills and Chargers offenses are very different). Just that they are both slot receivers who do almost all their best work from the slot.

Tucker is done sadly. Hard to watch 'cos he has been a great one. Yep. They need to adjust to the reality of theor kicking situation and right now they haven't. -
76% slot and almost 90% production from there. It's PFF Premium Stats. Not the play grades. The premium stuff you have to pay for.
-
Let's deal in facts for a moment. 72% of his snaps in the slot. Over 80% of his production from the slot. (Both those numbers going into this week).

12/1/24 Game 13 GAMEDAY! Bills vs 49ers SNF Gameday Thread

So is the latest that they have cleared the field and they expect no more snow? -
Agree. But you can find Tank Dells in the 3rd and Khalil Shakirs in the 5th. It's why for me I wouldn't use a 1st round pick on a guy I thought was a slot only. I know in the end we didn't use a 1st round pick on anyone. But it is about the opportunity cost of not using 1st round picks on Quarterbacks or the guys who have to win 1v1s outside in the NFL- franchise LT, #1WR, #1CB, DE. I had McConkey above Coleman fwiw, he was my WR8, Keon was WR9. But I wouldn't have spent a first round pick on either for different reasons.

Yea I don't think he can play anything more than spot duty outside. Not about his size so much as about his skillset. Haven't seen anything to change my mind.

I haven't really got into the QBs at all yet. I have seen a couple of Miami games and there is something there with Cam Ward but he doesn't scream can't miss type talent. Have only seen highlights of Deion's kid and honestly bringing the circus to town would give me pause about hitching my franchise to him however good he is. -
He is a great slot receiver. The Bills needed boundary help. He is a good fit in that offense. Good luck to him.

That team still needs a ton of work. I think I'd give it another year with Young if he continues to show promise down the stretch. See if I can put a few more peices in place. -

Aaron Schatz the DVOA guy was on WGR last week. He was the guy who wrote the essay on why Josh was the real MVP last season. His take was Lamar is the real MVP this year for basically the same reasons. -

He's averaging about 2.5 yards a rush the last 3 or 4 weeks. -

There is still a route for Miami. It is Denver beat Indy but then lose to KC, Cincy and the Chargers. That would likely mean 9-8 for both Indy and Denver so if Miami won out..... The path keeps getting narrower. They HAVE to win out to have a shot. -

Is the right answer they'd both lose to the Giants in the playoffs? -

He got a lot of hype for a couple of really good playoff gameplans - including the second half of that AFCCG when they went to a consistent 3 man rush and frustrated Mahomes. But this is his 6th year as DC and his defenses have ranked: 28th, 26th, 18th, 16th, 31st and going into this week was 23rd. And it isn't as though he can claim they are bend but not break, with the exception of 2022 (6th) they have been in the bottom half of the league every year in points allowed too. That is a THIN resume for HC contention. -

Bengals have lost 4 times scoring at least 30. Anarumo is probably getting fired.
