  1. Joe Schoen was the big Boogie Basham booster. No surprise he traded for him with the Giants. He LOVED the kid that year.
  2. He is slow at this stage, but he still had a decent season. He was not close to a liability.
  3. I would not reach on a player just to get a receiver but they reached over receivers for a corner two years ago IMO. I think receiver is priority #1, Dline is priority #2 and safety is priority #3. That doesn't mean you MUST draft them in that order, but that's the order of priority for me.
  4. Whisper it quietly.... I'm not sure he ever was. He was at best a low end backup. Taylor Rapp is nobody's idea of a starting safety and yet he was 20 times better this year than Hamlin was even pre-injury last year.
  5. And he has a tenuous link to Kyle Shanahan.... which makes you God around here these days in that Shanahan and Lynch traded out of the spot where the Bears picked Trubisky.
  6. That's fair on Hyde, it's a little unfair on Poyer. Through the first two weeks it was maybe true - but overall he still had an above average year for an NFL safety. He just isn't the all-pro type guy we remember. Find a good vet who can be the new lynchpin back there, let Poyer play his final year but draft a guy late day 2 or early day 3 to take over next year. That guy should get a chance to get on the field too because as the season wore on they swapped JoPo and Rapp in dime looks and Rapp was playing as the second safety with Poyer as a traditional dime almost playing like a linebacker. If he ends up outplaying Poyer, great, let him start and just bring Poyer in for dime looks. Are the kids not heirs? I think Jess is on record saying she wants to stay involved in sports after her career. She didn't necessarily say "I'd love to own the Bills" but I'd say without any deep knowledge she is the hair apparent.
  7. 6th or 7th round flier, sure. But he was the guy I thought had the best chance to really help himself at the Shrine Bowl and he was a disappointment. Don't see a lot explosion from him, looks like a relatively slow slot guy. Now that doesn't mean he can't play, Beas was a slow slot guy - but he was an UDFA for that reason.
  8. Okay rant away. But the truth is they both keep getting beat by Mahomes in the post season
  9. Disagree with everything expect the radio one which I have no knowledge of. I do think Allen with Andy Reid has probably won a Superbowl though. Wouldn't say three but I reckon he'd have won one. Douglas as an upgrade on White and Singletary being better than Cook are laughably bad takes.
  10. I am not missing anything. Kyle is a great offensive mind. He might be the best offensive schemer of all time. But he has blown double digit leads in three Superbowls now with baffling play calling and is without doubt benefitting from being in the weaker conference. He is a good coach who hasn't yet found a way to win a Lombardi. So is Sean McDermott.
  11. Beane and McDermott work very closely but Brandon Beane has control over the draft. He is accountable for the picks.
  12. Of course I realise that. Our problem is largely we can't get past Mahomes. Kyle Shanahan has the same problem just two rounds later.
  13. True, but there are graduations of backup. We currently have a bottom of the barrel guy.
  14. Swap the two teams divisions and leave everything else untouched the Bills have been to multiple Superbowls and the 9ers haven't made any.
  15. Not while the Pegulas are our owners. Shanahan tanked his interview here in 2015 when they hired Rex. They hated him.
  16. Kickers are a rare breed. Their performance year on year has a much higher variance than most other positions. I think the Bills should bring in competition and have a proper kicking battle but I don't rule out a bounce back.
  17. I still think Burks has some talent. I wouldn't give up anything major for him, but this is swapping under performing bad fit first rounders. I'm not sure they are losing anything in it either.
  18. There is a easy route to re-negotiation and a pay cut with Tre that realises basically the same cap saving as a cut. If Tre is willing to negotiate they should. If he wants to be paid at his current rate they have to cut him.
  19. Because our current backup is Kyle friggin' Allen.
  20. Yea that's mine as well. It does seem to be a pretty unpopular view around here but I'm with you. It looked painful for him to move let alone rush the passer. Take the L, save yourself that bit of pocket change and move on.
  21. Yea so would I. I doubt he can command the size of backup deal he had here before. But he is definitely better than Kyle Allen and so I'd be in on him if he wanted to come cheap.
  22. As hypotheticak trade ideas go it isn't the worst one. Dennard Wilson has just been hired as their DC. I don't know much about him but on the face of where he has been I imagine he will want to run some more man principles so Elam might be an interesting buy low option. Burks has been hurt a ton, I'd be interested to know where there patience with him is at. Don't think the current GM picked him either which always makes it easier to get a guy out of somewhere.
  23. Crikey. This place is worse the past 24 hours than the 24 hours after our playoff loss.
