Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
GunnerBill replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sure, but for the many things people can say about Stef and criticise him for I don't think he has ever been a guy who plays for the money. I don't think that is his motivation. Getting out of Buffalo was certainly not about the money for him. If it is an ACL, and obviously I hope it isn't, the bigger question is how does that affect his already dminished speed and how much value does he have when he returns? 12,000 yards matters much more to Stef I think if it is an ACL that probably slides out of view somewhat. -
He was before my time but watching the clip of the Kelly touchdown he has the same trait that all old play by play guys seemed to have - he just says what he can see. It is the same with the great old soccer play by play guys over here. They didn't overcomplicate they described what was happening. I feel like both sides of the pond we have a generation of announcers constantly searching for the soundbite. The irony is the soundbites come naturally when you just do your job.

The moving him around more IS related to Cooper though. The spent the first 6 weeks just running Keon vertical outside almost every play because they didn't have anyone else to do it and that isn't his game. He isn't particularly good at it. They've had a ton of success the past couple of weeks using him in condensed formations and getting the ball in his hands. The contested catches are nice, but it is hard to make a living in the NFL doing just that. The Bills feeling like it doesn't HAVE to be Keon outside and down the field all the time has given them the freedom to get him the ball some other ways. The Cooper signing definitely has impacted that even if the impact is more indirect than direct.

One of the things that helped the Patriots out all those years was the other teams in the AFC East making dumb, short term, impatient decisions to try and close the gap that meant they were never truly able to build a consistent winner. Cetainly with the Jets and Dolphins the last few years history has repeated.

Can we now conclusively say that the problem the Jets have is Aaron Rodgers?

He made a great catch today ib the 2nd half. He is also showing some scramble drill chemistry with Josh. But they are using him much better too.

Gotta say though.... more of the flags they have thrown today have been genuine fouls than in the Jets game. It has been sloppy at times from both. -

He also had a chance ti get at least 2 more if he didnt get greedy for the big one and stayed straight ahead. In the game situation that is what he should have done. -

The Bills coaches have owned the Seahawks inexperienced staff. It has been a total mismatch coaching wise. -

I am not saying it is all Cooper to be clear. But the fact is that is means Coleman isn't down in down out having to be the guy that runs down the field. It allows the Bills to diversify how they use him a bit. -

It is also something that other McD's first year when they traded Dareus and got worse the Bills have generally improved at as they've gone further through the season. -

And now he is in his right role. That is what he should be. An upgrade on Davis. Not the man expected to be your #1. No coincidence that since the trade he has broken out IMO. -
