Do it. Do it. Do IT.

Yea I think the board's actual mock was a better corner and safety but lesser DT than the alternative being suggested. That said the biggest talent gap there is Nolan to Farmer. So fair to say is it worth that significant downgrade for smaller upgrades with the two DBs?
-
We ended up with a lesser DT but a better corner and safety than in that scenario IMO.

Haha. I know you said in your write up you were reaching. I'd just say they have Armstead who in their new 4-3 system is a 3T and they drafted Maason Smith last year in round two who is a 3T too. I think their need is more at 1T so I'd have gone West but you are right Broughton's pass rushing upside is higher.

Tua gets the bag - $53M a year

Meh. He is off until 21 April. I don't think it is at all tone deaf. Playing in the NFL is damn hard. The guy deserves to enjoy his down time. Now if he hasn't worked out at all... fair criticism. But I truly doubt that is the case. -
I've just made the call. Joe says if we keep Coleman he will let us keep one of our 2nds too. 😂

Thanks as ever to @Virgil for this..... v1.0 is in the books! I was interested to look at what this would mean by my board if it was the real draft. So a few highlights.... Number of drafted players that are on my big board: 97/102 - three of the five that weren't were three of the last 4 guys taken - Fairchild (not watched), McCord (not watched sufficiently to grade, although I may yet as I haven't got deep into the QBs) and Rivers (watched a bit but didn't like what I saw gave indicative late day 3 grade). - the other two were Clay Webb (not watched) and BJ Adams (watched a bit, indicative late day 3 grade). Best five remaining by my big board: 1. Demetrius Knight, LB, South Carolina 2. Cobee Bryant, CB, Kansas 3. Cam Skattebo, RB, Arizona State 4. CJ West, DT, Indiana 5. Zy Alexander, CB, LSU Best value by my board of the 97 players I had graded: Mason Taylor @section122 picked him at #77. He is my 50th ranked player. Worst value by my board of the 97 players I had graded: Vernon Broughton @TPS picked him at #88. He is my 137th ranked player.

Younger and cheaper, yep. Over the past two years there have been a LOT of good, solid, proven starting safeties on the market - including Simmons and Blackmon twice. And the Bills have made zero moves. Who knows if they tried and failed but we know nobody has joined.

Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!

If he slips because of character it is possible. But have the Bills ever taken someone of that type? It just doesn't feel very them. -

Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!

And from what I hear that is two we know about..... I was told by a journo from another market that people are sniffing around his past and there is a pattern of behaviour. Interesting. That would definitely cool me on him. The Bills have met him a ton, right? They presumably are trying to work it all out. -
Ha! I mean he was awful last year. I think he needs a HUGE step forward in 2025 to win a starting job. It is possible. He missed an entire camp and that hurts a rookie. I just am a little sceptical whether it is likely. So I don't know where that falls on the Hail Mary - Our Father continuum.... but I suspect upper range?

Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!

They did but at the moment I have only seen that one single report. Which you have to remember is in lying season. If there are others out there it might be a warning to stay away.... but for now the people I have spoken to the one guy I think I'd say "no way" to based on character is Mike Green. -
I just worry a lot about that offensive line. I think it has the potential to be bad enough to sink the offense and that will keep them in the 6-8 win range at best. But let's see what they look like post draft.

Proven backups and a hope and a prayer for big improvement from Bishop. That is absolutely the state of the safety room.
-
Yea he never took a visit here last year. Now it is fair to say we had less than zero dollars cap wise at that time and we have a bit more wiggle room now.... so that may have been a factor. But equally if there was minimal interest last year and he is a year older and was okay but no more than that this past year with Atlanta I'm not sure I see a move.

I would HATE this.

He showed he can run straight as well as anyone. For sure.

Who is the best Corner in Bills history?
GunnerBill replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is Gilmore or White in my era (since 2002). -
Yea that makes sense too.

I love his tape, probably because it so fun and unusual. But my original grade which was a low 2nd has been modfied down in my second go round of tight ends. I have somewhat reluctantly moved him down to a mid 3rd and TE4. But in every class you have guys you just actively root for. He is one of those for me this year. I see him as a time share tight end in an offense where the #1 is kind of all athleticism but questionable production. Fannin matched with someone like that could be a productive duo. Seattle (with Fant) or Denver (with Engram) if they pass on a TE at #20 make sense to me.
-
Agree. One of the most fun watches in the entire class.
-
Love him. Great pick.

Don't worry. None of you 'mericans use proper English anyway

Yea I have heard DJ say it. I disagree with him. I'm not going to say "time will tell" though because I think that would be disingenuous as the easier usage is to be full time at corner and get a package of plays at WR (hard to do it the other way around) and so I think the likelihood is we will not get a chance to see his ceiling as a full time WR.... which means it is hard for those on your side of the conversation to be proven correct, which doesn't make you wrong... just means I think we probably won't get chance to find out.
