  1. I would take Kaepernick over Taylor for the following: -has shown slightly better mental skills -is much more durable -is more appropriately sized -in my opinion is a more effective runner -can occasionally be clutch (unlike Taylor)
  2. JP Losman WAS good at the deep ball. If you don't think so, you either didn't watch the games or your memory is fogged.
  3. I remember watching training camp Summer '14. EJ Manuel was better than Jeff Tuel at all things, except for reading the defense, which is the most important thing. EJ throws the ball with more velocity than Brady. Tyrod is a better runner than Brady. Drew Brees is more accurate than Brady (at least historically). But Brady is the best because of his mental processing.
  4. JP Losman was just as good at the deep ball. It does not take much mental processing, especially when there is only one deep safety.
  5. "well above". There is the stats test and then there is the eyeball test. Taylor fails the eyeball test.
  6. I would be for this if I knew that he wasn't 50 pounds overweight by now. Not saying he is, but if he has spent the last 6 months playing Madden, he very well could be.
  7. 22 points is well enough to win? Maybe in Buffalo. Or not.
  8. If you talk to almost any 49ers fan, you will hear from them that Greg Roman has a lot of flaws in his offense. The majority of them don't seem to miss him. And then we have Tyrod Taylor beating up on Miami twice as well as other teams that didn't bring their A games that day, and you have a conversation that he will be gone next year for a head coaching job. I keep saying it, because it's true: Tyrod and the offense are the opposite of clutch. They come up small in big moments of games. I blame part of that on the QB, and part of that on Roman.
  9. point 1: hate to see a guy get injured, wish him a speedy recovery. point 2: the Bills are toward the bottom of the league in sacks this year, and more often than not opposing quarterbacks have plenty of time in the pocket. That said, this or any other D lineman being out is not really going to matter much.
  10. Whaley got hoodwinked with the Kouandjio pick. Dude's knee is shot.
  11. He has built a 5-6 team that has the talent of a 5-6 team. The problem with uber fans is that the fall in love with the players. For example, minus A. Williams and Graham, our safeties would be on the practice squad of most teams. And considering that A. Williams is trending to miss more games than not in his career, you basically have to consider those safeties starters. Another example, Charles Clay is an above average tight end, but definitely not a superstar that is shown on his paycheck. On a high percentage of running plays, the RB is having to dodge defenders in the backfield. Our offensive line is average at best. It seems like after the D line got paid, they took their feet off the gas. Taylor is a 6th round draft pick from a mediocre football program (Virgina Tech), who has been on the bench for 4 seasons. What else did you expect?
  12. If quarterback rating were everything, Philip Rivers would be winning the superbowl every year.
  13. The only spot where that is "identical" is quarterback rating, which is a flawed stat.
  14. Rex strikes me as a player's coach, and the downside of that is the players lacking discipline. Bellichick is not known as a player's coach, but his players are rarely out of position or miss their assignments. Paycheck guys do not stay on the Patriots roster for a reason; he is not an easy going coach. Although I am not there to see the practices, it seems likely that Ryan is much more laid back and less intensive with his practices. So what you have is Rex Ryan, a good defensive mind, stringing along undisciplined players that do not pay attention to the fine details of a game.
  15. Whaley can't evaluate quarterbacks. He passed on Derek Carr, and he was in the organization when they passed on Russell Wilson. Heck, if Johnny Manziel is able to turn his career around, I think he could be a player in this league.
  16. -he cannot break down defenses -appears to be injury-prone -is undersized -not as accurate as the elite quarterbacks -is the opposite of clutch I am a Bills fan, but I don't fall in love with players. Tyrod will not cut it. Maybe you can make the playoffs with him if you assemble a perfect team, but do you really see him winning a superbowl?
  17. I think we should take a qb in the 1st round again. It's the most important position in football to get right. I honestly haven't been impressed, and I think anyone without a Bills bias would tell you that so far he is a below average quarterback. Yes he's a rookie but I don't care who you hire to re-train his qb mechanics. Didn't do Fitz any good
