  1. If I'm not sure about how it will be received, I try to put it into some sort of context for myself. For example, which of the following would would be appropriate to say in polite conversation: A. "As a Native American, how do you feel about this topic?" B. "As a redskin, how do you feel about this topic?" IMO using choice B is an easy way to get into a fight.
  2. The announcers used it in a bunch of early season games and pretty much whenever they all get in the game together.
  3. I hope that they got the rest they needed and come out and dominate today. I'd like to see My Three Sons get some good garbage time minutes.
  4. I think you left out the following: -They could have hired Coach X if only their owner wasn't cheap. (Didn't go back through every post but I expect this to show up at least once in every thread.) -Someone needs to be blamed for the incredible blunder that was the cutting of future HOF'er WR X (Da'Rick Rogers). Other than those, I think you summed up things nicely.
  5. I work in Syracuse as well. You can rest assured he doesn't have his finger on the pulse of how Syracuse fans feel. Anytime anything in relation to the SU-Marrone connection comes up, you can count on him to be there to bring up false anecdotes.
  6. Rotoworld put out a list of free agents loosely based on where they think players will be valued on the market. Here's the link: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/2014-nfl-free-agents-015900284--nfl.html Byrd and Chandler are where I'd expect them to be. Carrington is getting a little more love than I would have thought. The biggest surprise in my opinion is how high they have Moats. Good for him if GM'S agree.
  7. Called in to work due to a whiteout. Shoveled my driveway for about an hour only to have the a**hole next door plow all of his snow into the road and leave it there. Minutes later, the city plow came by and gave me my neighbors snow to shovel. Just finished that and am inside getting warm.
  8. Just saw Chad Ford's draft big board on Espn and Ennis is number 10 overall.
  9. Nice breakdown of the video: http://www.csnbayarea.com/49ers/detailed-look-49ers-seahawks-conspiracy-video?p=ya5nbcs&ocid=yahoo
  10. All those seem like likely choices. I think The Fray would be in the mix as well. I could also see them thinking of Neon Trees. The name isn't as big yet, but the songs are all over commercials and movies.
  11. I agree an argument could be made for Arizona, but I disagree on KC. Alex Smith was a hot commodity going into last offseason. I call this year's class slightly better than last year's because I believe it. I think Manziel and Bridgewater are fools gold. But there are certainly a few teams who feel differently (namely Cleveland per reports) and are willing to trade up to get one. There are seven teams that need a QB this year. I personally don't think there is a top ten QB this year. If any of those seven teams disagree with me, can they afford to not pull the trigger? We thought we could get our guy at 16 last year and thought it was worth the gamble, because only 1 other team was in the market, and they had a QB (Sanchez) already. They wanted competition for him. It was a calculated risk. If 7 teams needed a QB last year, it is my belief that 2, possibly 3 would have gone in the top ten because need would have driven their value up considerably. Besides the Jets, who was a legitimate threat to select a QB before we selected at 16 last year?
  12. It's funny how that happens. Remember when Matt Barkley and Jake Locker were can't miss prospects until they played their senior years. Ok. I'm marking my calendar!
  13. The logic is there, whether you can find it or not. 2013 - Only 2 teams, drafting at 8 & 9 respectively needed a QB. And the Jets didn't necessarily NEED one. 2014 - Possibly 7 teams, drafting at 1,2,3,4,5,8 & 20 respectively need a QB. Can any of those teams reasonably expect to get their QB at where they are actually valued, or is their hand forced?
  14. Yeah. I realized my error pretty quickly. Phew. If Cuse lost, I would have felt oddly responsible.
  15. I do. FTR, I'm not a fan of Manziel at all and Bridgewater has been exposed in my mind. I think the talent is about the same as last year. A little better, sure, but not by much.
  16. If Cooney is on fire they will be extremely tough for anyone to beat.
  17. Nothing to do with talent? Ummm, I guess I said that if it fits your argument. I thought I was just bringing up another large factor involved in where players, specifically QB'S, get drafted because you said there was "no comparison" between classes. You're right though. No QB's have ever been pushed higher in the draft than what their ability called for. Just don't ask Sanchez, Gabbert, Ponder, Leinart..... I agree there is more talent this year. But it's not as if it's by leaps and bounds.
  18. It's not the same scenario. Last year, there were two teams in the market for a top QB, the Bills and the Jets. This year: Cleveland just drafted Weeden, now they're moving on. Houston thought Schaub was a franchise QB, now they're moving on. Jax just drafted Gabbert, now they're moving on. Ponder just took the Vikings to the playoffs, now they're moving on. Oakland just signed Flynn...who the hell knows what they'll do. Arizona got average play from an old QB, they might move on. The Rams might even move on from Bradford. Demand drives the value of any product, in this case, QB's. Plus, this class was more hyped when Mariota and Hundley were involved. All I've heard lately is that the QB value in this draft is not as high as previously thought.
  19. Dynasties almost seem impossible in football today with the cap the way it is. Seattle definitely hit the lottery in their last couple drafts. Just wait til they have to pay the taxes. They will lose a lot of people in the coming years. It'll be interesting to see how many holdouts they have this year. Hopefully for them, RW will give them a discount in a couple years, cus he just earned himself some Super Bowl winning QB money.
  20. Next year's top ten: Seattle New England SF Green Bay Denver New Orleans Baltimore Carolina Dallas (I'm a sucker for wasted talent) SD
  21. Completely agree. It's just one of those situations where it feels silly to say it even if it's true. Addition by subtraction.
  22. I typed almost the exact same response but just couldn't bring myself to post it. I agree. It would worry me that he could possibly negatively affect the team chemistry. But at the same time how could we not be better off having such a talent on the team. Especially with his length. I would want to play Ennis and MCW together so we could maximize talent, but then we wouldn't have our shooter out there stretching the floor as much. Really interesting hypothetical.
  23. I know this is an overreaction to one play but there was a play where Roberson was streaking to the rim on a fast break and Gbinije sent a bullet pass that was like 2-3 feet behind him. Roberson, without breaking stride, just reached back with one hand and snatched the ball out of the air and went up strong without even collecting himself. Incredible coordination and dexterity. In that moment, I thought to myself, we'll be okay next year. It's never good losing guys like Fair and Grant but it looks as though they'll have a suitable replacement.
  24. Agree on Rak. He really looks like it's starting to click for him.
