  1. Bill Polian was GM 1997-2009. When I say late, I was referring to most of the 00's.
  2. I understand that he has tremendous accomplishments, but it is a what have you done for me lately league. The job he did with the Bills and Panthers was great. His early years in Indy were great, but the late years were far from it. The team, under his control, had years of terrible drafts. This was hidden because they had one of the best quarterbacks of all time. Any team that loses its star quarterback gets worse, but they got all time terrible when they lost their QB because the rest of their roster was crap. I feel the same way about Polian as I do about Parcells. Incredible football minds who the game has passed by. JMO.
  3. If Grant is 100%, I hope he plays today. If he is 99% or less, I hope they sit him. I guess Roberson is going to start again if Grant can't go, so I hope he doesn't look as nervous and hesitant as he did against GT. A win today would be big for seeding with all the top teams losing recently. I also just think it would be great for them to break out of the slump and get some confidence back. I believe we are locked into the 2 seed in the ACC tourney regardless of what happens today, is this correct?
  4. Lol. He ranked Bethea and Clemons higher than Byrd. Great talent evaluation.... easy to see why he got canned in Indy.
  5. Yup. American society...letting people like yourself jump to irrational uninformed conclusions. Edit: So as to not hijack this thread with this beat to death topic, I will not continue this any further.
  6. Agreed. I always love when we get to see Daryl being a badass but this episode was great for his development. Beth's too. I didn't have a problem with it really. They were shut up in the cabin pretty good. They wouldn't need to worry about walkers getting in. Houses are generally safe from walkers. It's people that are/were the real problem for the survivor's in houses. Like the guys that Rick had hiding out last week.
  7. Thanks. I thought it could have been a parody because I remember it cracking me up.
  8. I can see the Jack-Rick comparison. When you brought it up, I thought of how last season there were a ton of extras and none were really involved except to die or carry dead bodies when cleaning up. It reminded me of an episode of Lost where one of the extras brought up how ridiculous it was that the small group was always going on crazy missions while the rest just chilled in camp. At least I think it was a Lost episode, it's possible it was a parody.
  9. Hey-ooooo! Another person joins the thread again finally! To Your question, not really. What similarities are you seeing? Btw. Norman Reedus was on the Tonight Show last night. It's always weird watching actors who portray super masculine characters do interviews and come off exactly the opposite. Especially in Norman's case where his other famous role was in Boondock Saints.
  10. Great logic. By this logic, you are no longer allowed to talk poorly about any player because you have never played in the NFL.
  11. Famous Canadian reggae rapper Darrin "Snow" O'Brien, performing his hit single "Informer" non stop.....A licky boom boom down!
  12. I'm glad we got this game back because the Toronto "fans" were generally terrible. That said, I also think it is a major step towards relocation.
  13. So let's just acknowledge their 6 missed free throws that kept it close (15-21) but not mention Cuse's 9 missed free throws (7-16) that kept the lead as wide as it was. Also, their hurried shots were, for the most part, Cuse's defenses fault. I do fully agree we are not a very strong offensive team but ignoring our missed opportunities while giving theirs as examples of how you were being generous assuming the W is weak IMO. Edit: Whether we agree on my winning going away comment or not, my main contention is if we have Grant and Keita (if only for his 5 fouls) fully healthy heading into the tournament, I'd put us as one of the favorites to win it all. Even with how bad they've played lately with Grant and Keita nicked up. I'm not as off put by what's obviously a slump as some on here.
  14. Gotcha. I'm in board with you now. Let's just burn our SU gear and not watch anymore games this year. That'll show em. Team - Won by: California - 11 Indiana - 17 Villanova - 16 Va Tech - 20 UNC - 12 BC - 10 Miami - 12 WF - 10 Clemson - 13 And then we started playing good teams like Pitt & Duke and then we lost Grant.
  15. Are you really just adding Grants average points to the score to come to this conclusion? As if the entire complexion of the whole game wouldn't change if he was in there. If Grant plays, we win going away. Let's not acknowledge the cumulative effect on the game that his length, rebounding, scoring and familiarity at his defensive spot in the zone brings. I do agree that Boeheim is incapable of devising an offense though.
  16. Grant absolutely helps. I'm not willing to call a season over because of one of the worst teamwide shooting slumps I've ever seen. Plus, it's still just 4 losses. It also looks worse because when our coach only goes 7 deep all season long, the reserves aren't really ready. Shocker. I'm a big Roberson fan, but he definitely looked like a kid playing his first real minutes of the season. They also don't really have the ability to use Gbinije as a spark when Cooney is terrible like he is three out of every four games because Gbinije's already played most of the game. With a healthy Grant: Title contender Without a healthy Grant: Possible first round upset contender.
  17. Yippee!!! My prediction is if Roberson gets 15 minutes, he'll get around 7 points, 5 boards. He's gonna show that he can be trusted.
  18. Well seeing as how Winston is better than Manziel, I'd say if he was replacing him a loss wouldn't be felt by Texas A&M either.
  19. Easy. Steal someone else's positive spin motto..."Jairus Byrd has decided to free himself from job lock in Buffalo."
  20. Sports. And to say he struggled with it would be a generous description. I believe he hit the Daily Double and lost $1 for missing it. It was the sports category that made me dislike him. He was douchy about it as if he was too cool to watch sports and that anyone who does is a joke. I can't remember the exact comment but I do remember that it made me think he could benefit from a good punch in the face. Aside from that the guy is incredible. His gameplan is genius and he executes it well.
  21. Great episode! It was awesome finally hearing Daryl's backstory. Just an average unlucky guy that was sort of resigned to the cards life dealt him. Just bumming around with Merle. I'm glad they didn't try to glamorize it. It makes me like him even more hearing that, and then realizing that when the going got tough, his true character came out. Which is his loyal and compassionate nature. Beth impressed me too. She's showing she is tougher than I previously thought. I think it was a pretty cathartic episode for her and Daryl. The way she got Daryl to open up and thus release his guilt for not doing more to protect the prison was a great way to build a stronger relationship between the two. Btw. Holy crap he wasn't playing around when he said she needed a real first drink. Moonshine! Talk about starting out on the expert level. Makes me feel like a sissy. My first drink was at a wedding when I was 12. My cousin was 18, and she let me drink her Fuzzy Navels when no one was looking. Edit: Just kidding. My real first drink was still when I was 12, and it was ummm....whiskey...yeah it was whiskey...and I drank it out of a dirty glass too! Totally not a sissy... totally.
  22. "With the ninth pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills select, Ha-Ha Clinton Dix, safety, Alabama".......... This is my nightmare!
