I think this is precisely why this team brought in a defensive mind like Rex Ryan, so that that can keep the high level of play without having to overpay guys. Hopefully Jerry will take the offer because he wants to be a part of something as special as what this D could be. I would not blame him for a second if he took a big payday though. Opportunities like this don't come along often, especially for guys who were "busts" just two seasons ago.

I didn't know he was working with the show. For some reason, I thought that he was at odds with them over something. I'm probably mistaken. It's good to know that the show will likely have his fingerprints on it at the end though.

Ok. I dealt with losing my handle's namesake because it was a good trade for both teams. I accepted the trade for Cassel because he's a veteran who at worst can mentor EJ or whoever else we bring in. But now... now we just up and get rid of Jordan Gay for nothing! This is just too much to take. I'm so f#%$ing done with this team!

One thing that will be interesting to see years from now is how much Martin strays from the TV show when he writes his final book (if he ever gets around to it). Last I heard, the show has the ending already and just needs to get to it. How much will Martin deviate from anything they write?

Things are definitely about to heat up. I don't watch on Thursday nights, so Friday's are always torture for me at work because this thread just mocks me all day.

Cletus made me question whether they get it done or not. I think Jerry has become a great player and I'd love for them to sign him, but if he wants too much, we might be better off letting him sign somewhere else. I've been thinking about one scenario that I can't remember being brought up here. Since Rex loves lock down corners, I wonder if we make a run at Byron Maxwell. Anyone have any idea what ballpark his contract will be in?

Nassib could still end up being a good NFL QB when he gets his chance. He's an UFA in 2017.
