If every reporter is saying the same thing, yes, I would tend to at least consider the possibility that they are correct. If all that is reported is that QB X is hot garbage every day, and they get the job, that will be hard to understand regardless of how much the coaches get paid. Eball is right about my opinion. It will be even more disappointing if that QB is Cassel.

If Cassel is outplayed throughout camp and preseason but still gets the starting gig, it will be very disturbing.

Oh, I don't think they want MM's exact character type. ( Thanks for the flat circle reference.) I meant more in terms of how jaded Rust Cohle was. It was cool, in a way, probably due to how eccentric and philosophical he was. Every character is super jaded it seems. You're right though, it could be essential to the plot and it could end up working.

Saved by Melisandre. They haven't really set up the other two well enough to be plausible (for the show at least).

I think they are trying too hard to create the magic they had with McConaughey. Woody was great because although he has his faults, he was the "normal" character that kept things grounded. It seems like every character is just overly dark and brooding for its own sake. The acting was pretty good, with the exception of Kitsch. He was awful. I'm going to stick with the show, because like Greggy said, it took a couple episodes to really get into it last year. Besides that, what the hell else is there to watch Sunday nights during the summer.

Thanks for proving my point, being that you misrepresented what Jim said. At no point in that did Jim say he didn't like EJ's chances, you just read what you wanted to read from his comments. He said he didn't like what's he was currently seeing and hoped EJ would get better. "EJ has all the potential, he just needs to step up and do it."

I might have to try watching online as well if Fox stays like that. The greens were crazy. Gary Player said the whole course might have been the worst he'd ever seen. I know a lot of people don't like the players complaining about it, but they seem to have a gripe in my mind. They basically took guys who make up for weaknesses in other skills by putting well out of contention entirely. The meltdown was tough to watch.

Nope. It's an anthology series. Completely different characters this season. You souks definitely watch season 1 when you get the chance though.
