  1. I'd be willing to bet that Schobel has told them he wants to play on on a team very close to his East Texas home or he'll retire. No need for the Bills to say this publically. Best bet is Retirement. Possibly a trade or more likely, release and sign with (Houston, Dallas, & NO, and maybe KC,& St. L are my guess). The only ones that would probably really work out any far as need and want are probably Hous and NO (bummer that NO signed Alex Brown). Peace and Go Bills!
  2. He faces all three twice a year every year starting in 2010 for Marshall and the guys is smart. Makes sense to me he would say this b/c he has to worry about those 3 guys 6 times a year. Does not necessary mean it is 100% true but what came to mind. Damn. Imagine if Marv would of could of do things a little differently: 1. Drated DT H. Natga or traded down with Broncos to get an extra 2nd instead of Witner. 2. Drafted the other guy they considered (probably higher on there board but lower need) in 2007 ...Darrele Revis instead of M Lynch. I would have loved number 2 to be true b/c we would have drafted something else other than Leo McKelvin the next year (OT?/ Flacco?) and we'd have the best CB in the league!!!
  3. Ok. The answer is simple. An elite/excellent QB improves your chances of winning an NFL Championship, but they almost always still need a very good defense. An average skilled QB that manages the game well can win an NFL Championship with a great D. Bottomline is if you can't find an elite QB, build a great team (especially defense) around what you have and you at least you have a chance. Trent or Fitz could win a SB on the right team, it is just hard to fathom b/c they are not on a team with the Bucs or Ravens SB winning Defenses.
  4. Well, did you see him play before this year ever? I am not trying to say he was great, but he looked pretty damned good to me and that was when he had a very good Left OT...Michael Oher. So, he has the tools and needs to be protected, like any quaterback, to be productive. Hell, Look at some of Mannings numbers from his rookie year. Ugly and a 71.2 QB Rating for that year. Who remembers him being masterful against the Bills that late fall day in 1998? He was truly masterful about not getting sacked (not once) but must have been pressured and hit 15/8 times, respectively. But, I digress, he was mediocre from a production stand point that year and day in Buffalo. 11/22 @ BUF L 11-34 1 1 14 29 48.3 164 5.7 1 2 0 0 48.6 2 0 0.0 0 Snead did not get much help at Ole' Miss and he did not handle it too well either, but the kid has tools. Peace. Go Bills!
  5. I would too, but wouldn't it suck if the do trade for a 34 yr old QB that might be 36 before he starts his second season for the Bill if the owners Lock Out the players?
  6. "passing the rusher" is getting beat on running plays. However, I tend to believe the Bills Defensive line, top to bottom was pretty good this year. They did not get much help from a ravaged LB corp and I think that played a big part in out problems. The back LB's were a major drop off in talent. That was not the case at corner. Our 3rd corner played awesome this year (Drayton), our 4th good at nickel-CB in the slot but not too good outside. Our 5th was okay (Youboty) also.
  7. Yes. Dwight Smith. I ran into Buddy Nix in a Sports Bar in Durham, NC watching the Bills-Vikings opener in '98. I met and sat at the same table as him and I asked how he become a Bills fan with such a deep southern accent? Son on team? He said "Do not tell all these folks, but I am with the Bills" and gave me his card. He said he get up there through a good friend and collegue ...Dwight Smith. He is Buddy's buddy! Peace. Go Bills!
  8. I have seen the whole Buddy Nix and Chan press conference at BB.com and I have heard others referring to "his shot at Sullivan" but which shot was it? Anybosy know? If so, PLEASE share. I have got to know! Thanks! Go BillS!
  9. Assuming the Bills hire a DC that wants to coach here are my predictions for personnel moves. Not all, just the more predictable ones. M. Lynch: trade to the highest bidder (quietly at any point before the draft) K Williams: trade to highest biider before draft T Edwards: traded or cut Sign or Trade for a QB: J Campbell, M Vick (hope not) Schobel: let him retire or work out a trade to a team much closer to his Texas home. I guess it is possible they might play him at OLB if he wants to come back to WNY, but I don;t think he does. Maybin: try at OLB Stroud: starting DE Sp Jihnson: starting DE Lonnie Harvey: compete for NT depth Rashaad Duncan: compete for NT depth T Owens: not resigned R Denney: not resigned C Kelsay: released OT: draft one in round 1 or 2 NT draft one in round 1-4 RB: draft one in round 2-5 OLB: draft one ILB: draft one
  10. Playoff teams that are raised from the depths of the NFL strandings are born through media options and fan reaction. It has nothing to do with drafting, coaching, and aquiring players via trade and free agency. I do not like the hire, but listen, Buddy and Cahn are on the same page. We have a head of football operations that seems to be completely on the same page as the Head Coach. Also, the both have strong convictions. We have not had that since Marv and Bill Polian. Means nothing other than we have a chance with these guys. We have a chance to get the Bills moving in the right direction and staying there, consistently. Proof will come in Dec '10 and Dec '11....We shall see. Go Bills
  11. I know. The worst part if we hire him will be his boss', boss', boss. That guy has got to go somehow...
  12. At least she does the laudry. %$!*. I have to do mine, the kids and hers not all at but most of the time. Sad. Sad. Sad.... Me that is!! By the way, I am tired, beat up and trying to get some work done and come in here (TBD) looking for a diversion and I must I cried laughing a few times reading your post. Just the funny worded parts. That said, God bless you and the family in dealing with the house, $, and the loss of you father-in-law. Hang in there Tipster!! Peace.
  13. Nice initial thought, but they will not pay the big bucks in Free Agency so who is out LOT? Somebody from existing pool like D Bell, Meredith, or J Scott. Can you say "No"! OT instead of Cody in Rnd 1
  14. Dwight Adams and him are tight. I ran into Buddy Nix at a sports bar watching the Bills '97 opener when he was a Bills scout. I am liad back and a little quiet, but asked him if he was rooting for Buffalo b/c it seemed like it but I did not know for sure. And he said he was rooting for them. After a minute or two I decide to ask him how a guy with a deep southern accent becomes a Bills fan ...kived in WNY some or know somone on the team? He reluctantaly told me to keep it quiet and do not tell any of the mob at the bar, but "he was with the Bills" and handed me his business card. I little more chit chat and he said he was tight with Dwight Smith...I guess from UT Chatt or maybe from Alabama. I had no clue who that was at the time though. Anyway, just thought I'd dhare that he knows Dwight Adams very well and I suspect if Dwight wanted and was able to help, Buddy will hire him. We'll see... Peace and Go Bills! P.S. I have 1 more pretty cool tid bit from talking to him about a specific pick from the Draft that year and a guy I thought might be better...
  15. Kelly, Talley and Bon Jovi as owners. Shanny as Head Coach. Charlie Weiss as OC. ...........Wwwooooo- aaaa -- ooooooo!! Living on a Prayer!
  16. Maybe, but Schonert's OL was making about 16 million dollars more than what started the 2009 season. And, 3/5's of that has been hurt for most of the year. Try that with any team and I bet their OL looks like Pils. Peace.
  17. You are darn tooin' we do.
  18. No. He is right. Both on special teams. Pats week 1: no McFumblin and Browns week 5: Roscoe get-get a Touchdown on punt return instead of fumble. Sorry, I am really tired but in really he is right from a stretch perspectiove on week 5. Peace. Go Bills.
  19. BINGO! See RALPH is the problem and we might (that is a BIG Might) make the playoffs again with Ralph as owner, but it is highly unlikely unless he gets out from being involved in football operations/decision and that is not going to happen unless he becomes ill. I do not ish that for him at all, however...honestly. Some day is the future the Bills will be sold and that will either be a great day (good soild owner committed to keeping the Bill in Buffalo) for the Buffalo Bills or a horrible day, new owner that wants to move the team. While I suffer with you all in a puddle of ill-drenched hope, I long for a new day in Buffalo for the Bills. That is really what I long for. Peace.
  20. The REAL question is why did Dick/Russ/Ralph/Sean K decide to go with one of THE most inexperienced O-Lines in the NFL in a make-or-break year for the Head Coach. I personally like the guys, but would have preferred signing or trading for a veteran LOT like Tra Thomas so we could let Butler/Bell or Butler/Levitre battle it out for a spot giving us quality depth. My point is we should not have signed TO and "gone for it" this year without a line that would at least allow us to make the medium to long range throws. And, if we decided to try it with TO and an inexperienced Oline then they should have fired Jauron last year b/c he has such a smal chance to succeed with what he has.
  21. Hmm. A Quick Slant, eh? Well, one of the biggest plays in the game was a 4th quarter (or late 3rd qtr) 3rd down Slant to TO and Greer played it beautifully deflecting it in the air for Will Smith to intercept. Kid was like glue on TO yesterday. I like them also in the right situatioin and coverage and that one had no chance and shows you why they are dangerous.
  22. Come on. Grow up. They are the ones spilling blood, sweat and tears. You? Just tears. The guys are torn up no doubt. They put all the work in to try and win and did not. So, he could have done a better tweet, but why do you think he lets you read his tweets? He cares about you (seriously)... deeply (sarcasm). Peace. Go Bills!
  23. That's good. I must be resigned to a diaster of a season b/c I think that is funny and likely will occur some day after in this season. Go Bills!
  24. I am getting ols. Actually, I am old. 46. Maybe you guys are just not resigned to the fate that we are going to suffer this year. I am. I fully expect the same kind of mediocre futility we have seen the last 9 years. I will be on the edge of my seat rooting them on and hoping and praying they pull of mireaces I do not expect, but if you fire your OC a week and change away from your opener then you know what is coming and it just can't be pretty. It just can't. With that as my mindset and still being a die hard fan with great hope for Edwards and some hope (little) for Jauron, that was funny and hell. My 10 your old son what to know why I was alomost crying. Funny post to me.
