WGR reporting Bills interviewing
TDRupp replied to CoachChuckDickerson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hmm. Looks like we would have Sam Adams little brother as DC. Take a look at his Raven's picture... Might make for a better coach - player relationship. -
Top-10 Board if Ngata, Ferguson, Williams are gone
TDRupp replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess it must be from watching the Nc State / BC game this past fall, but I just loved Mathias Kiwanuka, DE. He just dominated and has a non-stop motor. Loved the WAY he played -great effort and talent but if no Nate C, then Jimmy Williams would be nice if Marv is convinced he has good character. Just getting kick out of a game b/c an emotional outburst??? unless it is reoccurring, I don't think that in itself constitutes a bad guy. If they love Cutler or DeAngelo Williams you never know... -
1 for 3 in baseball will get you in the Hall of Fame. Hopefully it will be Bates though I guess Teddy Cottrell would be good as well. SOPARANO, Get 'er done!! Feed us...
-
OC = Caldwell DC = Bates ------------------- SOPARANO, What are your sources telling you now about the DC. I was hoping the OC was really going to be Caldwell. Thanks for sharing what you hear...
-
SOPRANO. I REALLY don't doubt you but I also believe that this is a pretty fluid situation and I am betting your source with have some updates on these coordinators. Especially the Bates one. If Dj wants Caldwell as O coordinator, I am guessing he can get him. Bates is another story...
-
Yeah. Me too. Helps run an O that did not get the ball to their best Offensive player (Moulds!, not Willis) when Losman was in which leads to his suspension for a game. Stands firmly behind Gray and/or the mad wrestler Krumrie to bench one of the best Dt's in the game. Sit Losman for the last two games (partially excusable but if Losman could have played with risking further injury and even at 80% it would have been StUPID STUPID STUPID for not playing him at least some those games). I liked the guy just not his coaching! Would Marv have benched or not started B Smith or A Reed for big minutes when they were over weight, whinely, or sometimes were not playing 100%? Nope! He coached them and had others on the staff or team whip them into playing their best and win games..... Come on D J, do your stuff...
-
So, I'm the only one who doesn't mind Jauron?
TDRupp replied to bbb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am willing to give DJ a chance. I am sure I will be sold to a degree after hearing his Press Conf. Always am... Go Bills!! That said I am guessing the best new coach hires will be: H Edwards, M McCarthy, S Payton, and maybe even D Jauron in that order. Just a guess/feeling... Lots of D and a smart Offense??? Go Bills!! -
Definitely is not saying he is upset. He does not care much right now though. I personlly would have liked the Caldwell better...
-
Horsesh%^ team. No but a bad O. Strong D talent: Ted Wsh and Keith Traylor at DT Urlacher, Colvin, and Holdman at LB Phillip Daniels at DE Mike Brown (won 3 games(?) by himself at the end I believe) and fair CB's No O and I am worried he has non here either....
-
Win. That is all we want now. Wins. One at a time. We have had some great talking from TD and his coaches and I honestly can say I was about this deflated when Marv got the job. I hope this guy proves us wrong as well but when it comes right down to it he needs more talent and much better play at key positions (QB, DL, OL, and TE - okay that one is not usually so key unless you are non-existent like we have been). Get 'er done Dickie J! Go Marv and Go Bills!
-
Ding. Ding. We have a winner. You that is you and not Clayton. They get some info, but for the most part when you here Owners or GM's confirm they have a guy coming in for an interview then they are in the running. After Levy and Ralph interview someone next guess who "was a pleasant surprise and potential dark house but I still think Sherman will get it or Jauron if they want go with a defensive-mided guy. They are still trying to work something out to bring in Haslett too..." See. I am an expert now as well.
-
Trust me. Haslett is NOT out of the running. The only two coached we KNOW are in the running are ranked 1 and 2 and what means is posted with friends that know somebody you knows somebody at One Bills Drive know almost as much and sometimes more than Clayton and Sheffter at this point. Still rooting for Sherman from what I know at this point...
-
Fact is ANY coach can't go deep in the playoffs with crappy talent at key positions but how they waether the storm, manage relationships, situations during the touch times tell a lot about how good a coach they are and if the can help lead a team to a championship. I liked Mike M but not how he handled the Offense and some situations this year. I think Mike Sherman leads and handles things very well and Dick J may have done a good job as well, although I did not follow him too well and can honestly say their Offense was very weak. I prefer Sherman over anybody at this point. Remember that perceptions of coaches are not always accurate, right? I bet almost everybody on this board thought Bellichek would such as Pats HC and look what he has done. Not only did he sneak a Super Bowl win over St. Louis but he followed it up with 2 more later. He still needs a haircut, updated suits, and a little bit of cool to help his public perception!!!....unless you count those dreaded Super Bowls! Drat! Go Bills with whomever!!

Would Sherman bring a quarterback with him?
TDRupp replied to erikturk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mike Sherman and Farve will not come but I'd like to see Marv consider Mike S as HC. I like what I have seen and read. See his bio posted somewhere in one of these postings... Quality guy and coach. Marv wants character and a good coach and that is what this guy is. He also was an English teacher and thought about becoming a lawyer. Talk about similarities to Marv!! -
How can this NOT be a good thing?
TDRupp replied to MadBuffaloDisease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually I think the move was best for him and that is why he did it...especially, if his kids are taking heat at school. Just plain wrong!! That said, it is probably best for the Bills long term but this year is a crap shot... -
He sounds a little soft to me but I have never watched him play. Wow. a loss to Cincy and we would have been in great position to trade down to someone that needed a QB or to take Brick Furg. That said a very good player will be there at the 8 spot. I have posted before that I REALLY wanted the Bills to take Roy Williams with the 4th pick awhile ago but at the time was satisified with Mike at that point.
-
If the Bills end up with the 9th pick I am betting they trade down or take Jimmy williams (even if we franchise Clements), cb/S out of Va Tech. If M Williams or Hgata or Kiwi slides to us I am betting we take them. Obviously, the guy I'd love is Ngata but he will not be there at 9. MAYBE at 8. Big MAYBE. I loved watching M Williams (vs. So Fla) and Kiwi (vs NC State) in the couple of games I saw them play. They looked unstoppable in those games. What I consider the top 10 players or picks not necessarliy in this order. I would like any but the QB's, Rb's (I'd take Bush!) or Hawk for the 2006 Bills: 1. Bush, RB 2. Leinart, QB 3. Brick Ferguson, OT 4. Young, QB 5. Haloti Ngata, Dt 6. Mario Williams, DE 7. Hawk, LB 8. Mathias Kiwanuka 9. Deangelo Williams 10. Jimmy Williams Trade down possible targets: Winston Justice OT Eric Winston OT Michael Huff CB

We wish. They will be in Ariz for at least 10 yrs with their new stasium set to open next year! Maybe the Saints? But if the NFL and the US Gov't bails them out we could become the prime target in 2-? years...
-
Damn. Only Price? If they released Bledsoe we might have a shot at 8 wins...
-
No doubt he is making progress when you consider he also played against 3 fairly to very weak passing D teams in the first 4 games (Hou, NO, and Atl -not TB) versus pretty overall D's in KC, SD, and Car.

Why not play Peters AND Williams
TDRupp replied to realtruelove's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Geez. You know, if Mrs. Mularkey serves Mike a big plate full of Retaita tonight, I think you might be right! Maybe on 3rd and 1 they can try the push pass back to willis if Jason Tayor is playing outisde the OT too! P.S. Seriously thoug, I would love to see a little of Lionel Gates in these final games. -
Agreed. I was satisfied when we drafted him although I was a bit concerned he would not work out as a Left OT. I liked him. However, the guy I really wanted was Roy Williams! All the other guys that turned out better really were not top 5 considerations. RW was I really wanted that guy beccuase you knew he was going to be at worst darn good, and at best a pro bowler alomost every year. Wish we had him...

Being a realist I don't see it much different 33-13, Pats.

What in your opinion are the top needs?
TDRupp replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Borrowed and almost reversed from another post on the first page. I did remove the coaching and added some. Priorites for Draft and Free Agency and what I would draft/sign would depend and who is available and at what cost or draft position. #1 LT, Big Wide Receiver, DT #2 DE, G/C, QB (----draft one with potential in rounds 3-5, as I like the concept that you can't have enough good/great QB options....especially if you don't ANY proven very good/great QB's. Look at Atlanta now. I bet they get a 1st or 2nd rounder for Schaab in a year or two. HE was the guy I wanted the Bills to take, not JP. I hope I am wrong but so far it does not look good to me...) #3 CB, S, LB If we don't keep big Mike add a RT to #2
