  1. Me, as well. Seriously. I just hope the starting RB job is in the hands of somebody that is classy and and excellent player. I'd love that 2nd yr guy from Lousville to be the guy or someone else I just don't think the timing is good right now.
  2. Bingo. It is what it is, as they say.
  3. Hugely agreeing with that and my opinion as well. I Really hope it was inexperience that led to poor accuracy in his 8 games. it really stinks he did not get 12 or so starts to his if if would improve. What scares me is the part about missing wide open guys on short patterns to move the chains. With how E Moulds can catch and snatch the ball it was really disgusting to watch some of his throws. He has a great arm but it is not even nearly as important as being accurate b/c if you fire a bullet off target it is much harder (or impossible as some of Moulds attempts to catch JP's balls indicated) than a miss with average speed where a WR can react and adjust to make a catch or attempt. Do you guys recall the opener against the Texans? we should have killed them by 30 but JP could not deliver fairly short passes on target on 3rd down almost at all. I really hope it was inexperience but I also believe Marv and Dick can't and are not banking on it. Bottom Line: JP needs to be the starter for the first 8-10 games if he is healthy only UNLESS he is beating soundly by Nall or Holcomb. If they play better slightly give it to JP for 8-10 games so we know what we have and can move on or ride him. Peace.
  4. You missed my point on the record. I understand why many of the experts of for that matter any NFL fan would pick the Bills to finish with 4-6 toal wins in 2006 given the players we have period. projections be that as they may, most people just don't get scared about our O-line, QB, #2 WR, TE, DT's, all but one DE and S's. Yet. We will see I guess. I was not agruing for or against the cuts of M Will, E Moulds, L Milloy, or big Sam. I think they were all good moves with the new D and the $ and fact that Moulds did not what to be here. No biggie. Move on. I am just saying that we did not replace them with players that can viewed on as equals or better yet b/c they just have not proved it yet. Hopefully they will... Peace and Go Bills!
  5. Dude. Chill. Objectively, I like our draft that focused on rebuilding a dominating D and the many middle to lower tier free agents we picked up. Solid work no doubt. But, look at the whole picture objectively: We have cut (for whatever reasons) our best proven offensive player in Moulds, our most highly touted Offensive lineman in Williams, the only defensive tackle to make multiple pro bowls, a strong safety that has made multiple pro bowls, and we have pretty big questions at the most important (I know we have great hope) position on the team, QB, at #2 WR, at how our aging and recovering stud LB's will fit and buy into a new defensive system. Those are just the facts. I love Marv's positive attitude, philosphy, and the fact the Dick Jauron has been a HC before and think we are in good hands for the future. Also, I believe we could surprise some people this year but you can also see why some people pick us to win 3-6 games can't you? On paper, it looks more probable than 7-9 wins does it? give me our 3 best players for this upcoming season and you know you can come up with pretty huge questions on all of them, sans maybe Schoebel if you put him in. sorry to be a downer but while it will probably be more fun and more interesting to watch them this year they will have a very hard time competing in our division. Hopefully we can will become a "team" that will surprise most everyone...
  6. Maybe. Key is improving speed, cutting, which equates to getting open besides just being tall, string with good hands. Speed and in and out of breaks are HIS key to make the team. From what I saw of highlights, his college performance in those areas don't equate to an impact player in the NFL. IMO...
  7. Um. I would. If you only did the bare minimum to get your job done and not all you could then your not helping your team's (or boss') bottom line. They won't be looking at you to get a decent raise or promotion to if that is the case. Just depends on what is import to you. You can tell me that Willis is comitted to being the absolute best he can be personally and as part of the team. It does not mean he is not a good back that could become very good- imo, he just is not what I prefer in my starting RB or way more importantly what marv wants in his back.
  8. Losman 50% Nall 30% Holcomb 20% At least that this is what I think it should be heading in to training camp and preseason. Unless Nall or Holcomb are just clicking perfectly, JP gets the nod for at least 8-10 starts, if he is healthy. Hopefully, that is a small "if".
  9. Marv "reached" for at least 4. Others are a good value picks especially after a few game day beers.
  10. Rico, Thanks. I could have sworn Jason Peters was going to be a RFA. Guess not. What I want to point out is that some of these UFA's Marv signed for 1 yr could help us in our net UFA losses next year for the 2008 draft. Of course, we have to replace them but since some of these guys are depth guys street FA's could possibly replace them. Also, we would need to sign some UFA's to help replace our 5 starting UFA's and others throught the 2007 Draft. Assuming King and Youboty progress well this year Middle LB, LOT, DE and K become needs unless we resign them. Here are the key (or potentially key) guys then. UFA's: CB Nate Clements UFA Buffalo Bills LB London Fletcher UFA Buffalo Bills PK Rian Lindell UFA Buffalo Bills OT Mike Gandy UFA Buffalo Bills DL Chris Kelsay UFA Buffalo Bills Here are the other UFA's that could help our net losses for comp. picks: LB Jeff Posey UFA Buffalo Bills WR Andre' Davis UFA Buffalo Bills OT Aaron Gibson UFA Buffalo Bills OT Matt Morgan UFA Buffalo Bills RB Anthony Thomas UFA Buffalo Bills CB Kiwaukee Thomas UFA Buffalo Bills DL Lauvale Sape UFA Buffalo Bills (possibly still around for depth in 2006) FB Joe Burns UFA Buffalo Bills (possibly still around for depth in 2006 and/or STs) FS Coy Wire UFA Buffalo Bills (doubful to be on this years roster unless we get hot by injuries or Marv keeps him a key ST player) SlightlyKey (or possibly key) RFA's: DL Tim Anderson RFA Buffalo Bills DL Jason Jefferson ERFA Buffalo Bills FS Rashad Baker RFA Buffalo Bills
  11. I ask for the following reason: If we don't sign Clements to a long-term extension before July 15, could we be in line for a 3rd rounder for UFA losses next year? I know. I know. He is worth more. I agree but since we will not Franchise him (agreement as part of him signing his tender) I think the Bills would be wise to have already planned on our approach for 2007 a bit. Meaning they signed a ton of lower tier UFA's this year so they don't have to next year. Good long-term planning?? I bring this up b/c while the signing of a lower tier UFA is lower risk, if you lose very good players and the net loss is 0 you, get squat for compensation like this past year. Did anybody really think that the late signing of Bennie Anderson might have cost us the difference between a 7th and a 4th (maybe a 3rd) round compensation pick? IMO, it did and to think Duke Preston could have played better over the whole season also makes me think that front offices (TD is this case) don't always consider it enough, Mike Gandy notwithstanding.. So, who are our UFA's and RAF's for 2007? Thanks! Go Bills!
  12. Cool. Funny thing is he really does look old and especially tired yesterday which is understandable for sure. He is 80 and deserves a rest after UDFA's are signed. Regardless, I love the class he brings to the organization and as much as I hated the Dick J hire when it happened (wanted Mike Sherman), he brings the same class. Let the assistants play bad cop a little and drive the guys and he can play the part of Marv and we are off to Super Bowls hopefully someday if a QB, another WR and the OL comes through... Yep, big ifs....
  13. Funny thing is he soft steps criticism of TD picks like Mike Will. and JP performance last year.
  14. Excellent post. Barring injury this guy will be a very good solid SS for many years and I belive has a great chance on being a top 5 in the NFL SS. That is good value at 5, imo.
  15. I am right with you and see many comparisons between Manning of his first year and JP last year. They are very similar players. Manning complete 56.7% of his passes and JP 49.6% of his. Oh beside that JP will be almost as good. I just rassing you dude. But they are very much alike. I know where you are going though and I believe Dick J needs to start JP in at least the first 6-8 games regardless of Marv's win now approach because he need time to see if he can develop in Buffalo. Bring in Nall later this season if Losman can lead the team and complete passes.
  16. real good "Coverage ability". Geez. I hope our guys really do have it but I was sick of hearing that from the Bills brass, especially, Dick J.
  17. Where the guys from PTI bashing the hire or Marv Levy as GM? I know Mike and Mike did but thought they did too. Anybody hear PTI guy's reaction the Marv GM or Dick J hires?? Thanks! Predictions: Whitner will be very good to great. McCargo will be a good DT ( Youboty will be an average CB (does not have great confidence) Simpson will be a slightly above average S Williams will be a very good DT. and one of the undrafted FA's will not just make the team but will be a good regular player in 2-3 yrs. Just my gut feel...but we shall see... Go Bills!!!
  18. So by Pompei we basically got decent value at 8 and 26 and while I think Detroit would probably still go with Sims there is a chance it would have been "Whitner the Hitter". If our board and needs did not target anybody else at around 15 or 14 then I back our pick at 8. It would have been nice to try an OT with that other third though. Last point is that Ashton Y. is mentioned as a possbility at 32 so when you consider the first 4 picks we did get on average, good value. I give the Bills a B- for this draft but it does not matter what anybody gives it today or tomorrow as we know.
  19. I understand your point as many season ticket holders or frequent game attendees will have a hard time making all those games around the holidays and only 3 before November. BUT, if they are .500 going into Jax and NE or Miami aren't running away with it (okay I admit they are huge IFs) then they set up well for potential W's and very good attendence as well, especially if they somehow get to 6-5 in the Jax game.
  20. On it's face, it does look like a pay-back for the anit new CBA stance. But a closer look says probably not: They play 2 Florida teams (Jax & Miami), 1 California team (San Diego) and the 4th team is still (just) South of the Mason-Dixon line (Tenneesee). Four teams that very much used to much warmer weather after Thanksgiving. I'd say that is a nice thing about the schedule and of course it would behoove the Bills to be close to .500 in order to get a full house at each of them. Now, at NE and at Miami might be viewed as a cold slap from the NFL because starting 0-2 on the road when everyone can watch could have a dampering affect on us. I like the schedule though. It gives us a chance to surprise a few teams (Miami without Culpepper or when he is not in-synch yet or Minny) early.
  21. A Davis might be very confident and only wanted a 1 year deal. Possible.
  22. Come on. Be serious. He and others can't change anything. They can't educate everybody about how this CBA will make it very difficult for small and even mid market teams to compete? People fight for change all the time and when they argue intelligently and forcefully things Do change? Right? Of course they, we can change things that matter in the CBA. It won't be easy but it can happen.
  23. I am guessing that we might not even draft an WR in this draft. I think that Shepard is going to try and run the same kind of offense that he ran in St. Louis. Lots of three receiver sets with a strong blocking TE (Robert Royal) that is not involved in the receiving game much until the red zone. So, look for lots of Evans and/or Price and/or A. Davis and/or Parrish and Willis McGahee. Royal mixed close to the end zone. I believe we go DT, OT, or S in round 1.
  24. That's true. Our job of scouring the internet for info on FA's and the Draft is vitally more important than trying to predict how we will do with our 16 game schedule. We must first get our team together and then our most important game is sept 10. One game at a time, TBD. Lets not get ahead of ourselves or we could overlook a few teams.
