Brown's price would have gone up a bunch if he had a good season with no extension. Yes, there is some risk involved but I believe this is a solid move. Beane wants to use his premium picks on WR and DE imo

Joe Marino: 1/4 of Bills 2024 salary cap is dead cap!
juno999 replied to JaCrispy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Diggs is $31M, White is $6M, Floyd, Bates, Hyde, Poyer, and Morse bring it to $53M in dead cap. While we will never know the complete Diggs drama, it must have been pretty damn bad to jettison the guy and take a large dead cap hit. Bates was traded for a draft pick. White was injury related. They moved on from Morse. Everyone else had void years on their contract which resulted in dead cap this year. Most of these dead cap hits were planned or managed. -
Mahomes, Kelce, and Jones are arguably the best at their respective position. Kansas City is absolutely killing it. Even when they traded Hill away, which was probably the right call, they got a great return. I agree with you. What are your thoughts on Kincaid? Elite potential? I'm hoping the Bills can draft a game changing WR1 and/or DE in next year's draft.

Agree 100% regarding their plan to get a dynamic receiver next year. I believe the Bills realized they couldn't fix the WR room entirely this past off-season. They drafted Coleman who could be pretty good but most likely not a WR1. They got MVS as a stop gap to stretch the field this year.

McD said earlier this Summer, Hardy was drafted for his KR/PR abilities.

Marino is a mixed bag. He was convinced the Bills would re-sign Edmunds, hated the Terrell Bernard pick, and even hated the Dorian Williams pick. Not sure I'd lock it in on whatever he says.

Cuts, Waiver Claims & 90 man roster depth: A study
juno999 replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nice work Gunner. That's a lot of transactional history you spewed out over the past several years. So, you think the Bills keep 6 DEs with Jonathan being one of them? He's the one guy I thought might lose out in the numbers game. Perhaps you're right though. I don't see many difficult cuts this year. -
A question for the board. The new rules allow for 8 players to be placed on IR during the season with the potential to come back. If a player makes initial 53 roster and then placed on IR soon after, does that count as one of the 8?

Players that we might trade instead of release at cutdown
juno999 replied to mushypeaches's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree on possibility of Clapp. The other guy I was thinking of was Kingsley Jonathan. Solomon appears to be ahead of him on depth chart. If they don't keep 6 DEs, it looks like Jonathan is odd man out. Some team will claim him if cut imo -
My interest is down as well. For me, I found the last two seasons emotionally draining due mainly to the serious injuries to their best players. Not to mention, the Damar Hamlin incident. Plus, the Bills lose some games in excruciating fashion. The Fish game in the heat, the Vikings game, and the F'n wind game to name a few. No, I didn't forget 13 seconds.

Let's see him play in another game.

Bills @ Steelers - Preseason Game 2 - Sat 8/17 7PM
juno999 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Morris is fine. MVS went down -
Good - one less preseason game remaining. Bad - Oline was bad. This game reminded me a bit of last year's preseason game against the Steelers. I hate preseason.

Here's the new IR rule effective in 2024. Teams can place 2 players on IR before final cutdowns to 53. Players will miss 4 games. Sorry for the cut and paste. No link. NFL makes significant change to injured reserve rule This will have an impact on preseason roster cuts. By Mookie Alexander@mookiealexander Mar 27, 2024, 7:00am PDT Amid all of the hoopla surrounding the NFL banning the hip-drop tackle and drastically changing the kickoff rules, there’s a major rule change regarding injured reserve that will impact how preseason roster cuts are handled. Previously, if a team placed players on injured reserve (IR) during preseason, it would automatically be season-ending. That is no longer the case thanks to this amendment at the annual league meeting in Orlando. By Competition Committee; amends Article XVII, Section 17.16(C), to permit each club to place a maximum of two players who are placed on an applicable Reserve List on the business day of the final roster reduction to be designated for return. Such players will immediately count as two of the club’s total designations.

Bills fans think this is a great thing for the Dolphins. I mean Tua has beaten Allen two times head to head. The heat game and the Charles Clay dropped TD game. This is great for Tua.

It's not that crazy if Davis is effective in pass protection. Time will tell. -

What Bills road trips are you doing this year?
juno999 replied to BillsPride12's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills home games which are road trips for me. -
I have NFL+. IIRC you can watch live NFL games on it through your phone.

The Bills currently have 8 picks before compensatory picks. 1st, 2nd, 2nd (Hou -Diggs), 3rd, 4th, 4th (Chi - trade pick), 6th, 6th (Giants - Basham). They currently don't have a 5th and 7th.
