Pretty good salvage job by Beane imo. For a day, I love Jerruh.

RB Ty Johnson Re-Signed - 2 Year Deal
juno999 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
If Cook isn’t extended by the draft, I could see Bills drafting a RB on day 3. The draft is deep in RBs this year. Plus, Bills aren’t going to let a player potentially derail the season with a contract dispute/holdout. -
The Dline has been the issue for a number of years. Not enough QB pressures, sacks, not good enough against the run. Pretty much every free agent signee has been overpaid for their production and pretty much every DL draftee has been over drafted.

Or the backup goalie when his team plays against the Sabres. -
Priority Free Agents for Buffalo? Early Draft talk..
juno999 replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall
True. It takes two to make a deal, only 40 guys on roster, Beane has his work cut out, and Bills have $9 M in cap space. IIRC, the salary cap has gone up every year except for Covid year and the Bills have $9M before any reworking by Beane. They're usually starting the offseason over the cap. So I actually feel pretty good about cap space. Bills currently have 8 draft picks (1, 2, 2, 4, 4, 6, 6, and 6). They will likely get a comp pick for Davis and Floyd. However many draft picks the Bills actually make, pretty good chance most make next year's 53 roster. Whatever the cap space number is, I believe Bills will spend most of it on players currently on team. Tough decisions loom. No doubt. They can't keep everyone as we all know. Hopefully they can get comp picks for players who do leave. -

Beane has a tendency to extend players, especially ones they drafted, prior to their contracts expiring. They won't extend everyone on this list (Benford, Bernard, Cook and Shakir) but could see Benford and one other. The Bills CB situation is a little shaky after this season. I believe Douglas is gone and Elam hasn't looked all that great. -
Ok. That makes sense. I was at the game. Spector looked brutal out there.

Early on, Spector was playing 1st and 2nd downs, then they brought Williams on 3rd down. Did Spector get hurt at some point?

Smoot and Spector Practice Windows Opening 12/11/24

Waive Virgil to activate Smoot or Spector when they're good to go was the thought. -

If Coleman is good to go, I could see them waiving Jalen Virgil to create roster spot. -
I agree. I watched the Rams Saints game from last week. Kupp wasn't targeted that much and wasn't much of a factor. He doesn't appear to be 100% healthy imo

the Daboll/Schoen regime - on the brink, it seems
juno999 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
I believe Beane would bring back Joe Schoen if he was fired. I don't believe McD will bring back Daboll. Check out the post game handshake between McD and Daboll as exhibit A. McD couldn't get out of there fast enough. -
Regarding Cooper, Beane would likely add a void year or two to spread out the cap hit. Perhaps a 4yr deal that's really only a 2yr deal.
-
As we know, Beane likes to draft, develop, and re-sign his guys. Cook, Benford, Bernard, and Shakir will be entering contract years. I believe Beane will want to extend Benford, (especially if they lose Douglas to FA), and I'm leaning towards extending Shakir. Allen looks for Shakir a lot and he can beat man coverage. He's not a WR1 but he's important in this offense. Rousseau will be a priority as well. Cooper is the wild card. If they re-sign him, they can really focus on DE, DT, and CB.

I've watched the game 5 times now. Plus I saw it live. Can't get enough of it.

Terrel Bernard Defensive Player of the Week!
juno999 replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
Joe Marino hated the Bernard pick. He didn't like the Dorian Williams pick either. FWIW, I didn't like the Josh Allen pick. The draft can really be a crap shoot. -
Benford, Bernard & Shakir…re-sign all of them?
juno999 replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
I believe Rousseau is the priority re-signing this offseason. The Bills will want to lock him up. The others will be tough decisions because as we know, they can't re-sign everyone. My guess is Cooper and Benford. -
I believe Samuel's injury in training camp was more serious than reported. He's looking much better these past few games.

Week 11 - Chiefs at Bills Game Week Thread
juno999 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
If Cooper and/or Kincaid is out, I'm curious to see if Bills line a rb at wideout (maybe Cook) and have Johnson or Davis in the backfield. -
To the OP, I was at the game on Sunday, and the Bills bench went crazy in a good way, after Bass' kickoff that bounced around the 3 yard line. I believe it was intentional and not a mishit.

The AFCE is very weak this year. Nine wins might win the division.
