What We Should Fear The Most
Luis Mendoza replied to Luis Mendoza's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
. The past has shown otherwise. We have shown positives, not won, and eventually collapsed. I HOPE they continue to build and grow on this progress. The players say WINNING is all that matters. Minimal wins, questions begin to arise. -
EJ looks like he will be back, still not sold but hoping he can be the guy. Jameis Winston's success at FSU worries me...

I am with a majority of the posters here that believe the Bills are playing with a different flare/attitude that we haven't seen in years past. Our young team is developing and players who we thought deserved to be cut (Mckelvin, AW) are finally coming into their own. But how long until the players throw in the towel on this regime? I truly think winning CAN and SHOULD be happening right away. Other franchises have shown that by implementing a new regime and changing the culture, winning can take place right now. There is no turning the corner, give it time, and have faith. We have done 2 out of 3 and when your not winning right away it is human nature to lose faith as players. It should definitely be a concern for everyone regardless of the positives we can take away every Sunday. Losing remains the same and that essentially is the only way to decipher a new corner and change. (Regardless of the stats, positives from film and the "moral" victories) The major concern is the players getting frustrated, defeated, and flashbacks of the end results of previous regimes starting to creep in.

Psh. You act as if opposing teams fear which below average QB the bills "select" each Sunday. Other teams do not care who plays QB for us, we do not have ONE QB on the roster who does anything exceptionally well that would require planning from an opposing defense.

As much as I and everyone here loves the Bills. You can't be serious thinking we will only lose ONE more time the rest of the year.

Dennis Dixon. Fast Oregon offense. Lightning fast. Why not? -

Please stop running up the middle on 1st and 10

At least we saw the screen play Sunday to the captain. And I have no idea why it took till week 7 to run it. Especially with how teams have been loading the box and unloading on our young QB's. Seems like it would be such a high percentage play to run on a consistent basis. -

2013 Bills and Defensive Takeaways
Luis Mendoza replied to Luis Mendoza's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No it can't. Every team in the NFL deals with injuries, we just assume the Bills are hard done by because we love them. Rookies and brand new coaches never have success in the NFL... The argument is other teams are getting right around the same amount of takeaways, the most important stat in deciding games, and we are not turning this monumental positive into wins. I hope we can continue to turn the corner and play a full season without a stretch of CFL caliber football. I suggest the Bills start turning these takeaways into touchdowns and stop getting bailed out by our defense. Easier said than done. The takeaways are not always going to be there. Based on our first 7 games we have no chance without continued giveaways and takeaways. -
2013 Bills and Defensive Takeaways
Luis Mendoza replied to Luis Mendoza's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are you nine years old? Bottom line is based on the number of takeaways the Bills should be winning more games, I dont see how this is an argument. My point was to show how far away we really are as a team and how past history can potential repeat itself. (Which never happens with the Bills) -
2013 Bills and Defensive Takeaways
Luis Mendoza replied to Luis Mendoza's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow two games makes a huge difference The 2011 Bills are exactly like the 2013 Bills from a takeaway, staying in games standpoint. Winning games and staying close due to getting a ton of takeaways. Only difference is our offense was better in 2011. -
Through the first 7 games the Bills are leading the NFL in interceptions (12) and are second in the AFC in total takeaways (15). Kudos to our defensive making plays and keeping us in games. But is this sustainable? A lot of these turnovers have been gifts. The luck eventually will run out, more than likely. We have made some great defensive plays resulting in turnovers, but a majority have just been boneheaded turnovers by the opposition. This start reminds me a lot of the 2011 Bills that started 5-2 and had 18 total takeaways through the first seven games. We all know the rest... the ball stopped bouncing our way and we went on a 7 game losing streak (only 8 takeaways over this span). What is even more concerning is our record (3-4) based on our number of takeaways. In the AFC through 7 games there are 5 teams who have 11+ takeaways. These 5 teams have a combined record of 26-9. Against BAL we had 5 interceptions and won by 3 points. I can't think of another team in the NFL that intercepts a QB 5 times in a game and wins by 3 points. FIVE!

I don't understand how this board is so high on EJ thus far. We all want EJ to be the "future", the next big thing for our franchise, that is why we took him in the first round and passed on many others. But EJ has done absolutely NOTHING so far that has made me think, yes that is our guy, sign him up long time. He has been average. The NYJ game was one of the must frustrating and pathetic performances from a QB I have seen in a long long time. The man could not even keep the ball in bounds.... Yes this is one game, but his entire body of work has not shown enough to prove he is our franchise QB. He has made many poor decisions and inaccurate throws. Everyone saying Thad is a "vet" is out of their mind. Since when is sitting in the film room and holding a clipboard for 2 plus years make you a veteran? The kid made his 3rd career start against Miami and is still getting used to seeing live action. Neither of these guys have had that WOW game or proven anything yet. Their both similar, young developing quarterbacks. If you took the draft pick, the history, the name and number of their backs, you would be hard pressed to call either one of them better at this point. Many on this board have fallen in love with EJ as the next Allah and I have no idea where it is coming from.... I want to see AlphaDawg and FireChan brawl with baseball bats.... I can't speak for other threads, but "FireChan" is definitely +1 on this one. Don't call someone a troll for losing an argument.

When were you most wrong on a player?

Gotta go with Robert Royal with cheese. I was convinced he was going to be a hall of famer.
