  1. He's got 30 Billion in the bank, Erie County gets 400 million in walk away money, sure they are going to take it, after putting up a modest fight to say they tried. 400 million for infrastructure, schools, bridges, roads, expand the Metro, cut taxes.
  2. Forgive me but if he buys the team keeps them in the Bills stadium until the lease option outclause year, then pays the 28 million penalty. Fans would hate it but it's perfectly legal according to the lease. There is an out clause for precisely this reason. He could also simply keep the Bills in Buffalo until the end of the lease, refuse to sign a new lease then moves the team to Toronto or L.A. Sadly not much fans can do except complain, band together and file a lawsuit, ownership is 9/10th of the Law. Refusing to sell to him if he was the highest bidder would create a real legal mess, especially if NFL owners approve of him. You know the committee is going to hold this guy over a barrel to get him to sign the lease in Erie or Niagara County. A guy with 30 Billion doesn't care about 28 million in buyouts.
  3. Sounds like he's a guy who could write that $400 Million dollar relocation check to Erie County and not blink. He could tell the NFL, and the Bills fans that they are moving to Cali and he's building his own stadium.
  4. I dont think I have seen anyone suggest this before but what about Larkinville, that seems to be a up and coming place, there is an old white/ grey building on Seneca street that from the size of it looks llike it could hold an NFL size stadium. there are also lots of other old buildings that are being re purposed, some im sure would need to be torn down for parking.
  5. Left field ideas for the Stadium location. 1. What if we built it in Lake Erie on pilings. 2. On Grand Island, just over the bridge. 3. LaSalle Park. 4. Delaware Park
  6. Kelly Island could be interesting, 1. It's walkable across the bridge to Sabres parking. 2. People could boat to the game. 3. The metro ends there. 4. My favorite reason, it demos up all those old eye sore crappy silos. 5. Sure A few bridges would need to be built to connect to Ohio st and also Rt 5. 6. Gives Buffalo a waterfront stadium 7. Seen as a positive to the Riverbend project.
  7. Lots of open space on Grand Island.
  8. So the Plantiff was Theodore Bridgewater aka Teddy? Also who hands writes anything legal is typed. This is a bad joke.
  9. The Bills playing in the New facility is the main thing, but there is so much more we can attract to Buffalo. With a new Fixed or Retractable Roof we could host the NFL Draft. Think of all the players coaches and media that swarm to NYC. That is all huge tourism money, that would come to Buffalo (hotels, restaurants, cabs, limos, trips to Niagara Falls etc.) I think given all the new hotel rooms planned and under contruction, there would be more than enough. This size event is big enough and important, If Buffalo does a great job of hosting, the NFL would come back again, and it would create goodwill, and maybe change some hearts and minds about Buffalo NY.
  10. Did they have to graduate or just attend those Colleges and Universities?
  11. Shane was just the skinny leg kid from Frewsburg, who hit like a truck. I just watched some clips of him at Penn State on YouTube this kid could run and hit. The College Hall of Fame is well deserved.
  12. I Would like to see his transcript from Cal. Did he just attend or did he graduate? Frankly, I'd like to see the transcripts for all the players, along with their 40 times, bench press etc. Strange how that education report gets left out, unless they are a Rhode Scholar. They never tell you, Johnny can't read, but he can sack the QB.
  13. The Black is used for covering up the aged stadium and its many faults, plus it is cordinated with the store front and the gates. I think it makes The Ralph look a bit more intimidating for visiting teams, not that Tom Brady will be scared.
  14. I didn't realize this till just now, but Minnesota's new stadium is not a retractable roof it is a fixed roof put another way it's a building. The cool thing they have designed it with lots of natural light by using glass for the roof and windows. I did read that certain windows open on the sides for a view of the City.
  15. Amen Brother, some folks still in the time warp up there, The 80s are over.
  16. Syracuse is losing recruits because they haven't had a good team since Donovan McNabb was the quarterback and Marvin Harrison was the wide receiver catching touchdowns.
  17. I don't know off the top of my head know how many hotel rooms there are in Minneapolis Minnesota who's just received the Super Bowl. But if we have a comparable number of quality hotel rooms, I think we'd be in the running.
  18. Leave early, the Game isn't until 6 pm, problem solved.
  19. A Retractable Roof facility is what we need, in the Downtown, that can utilize existing infrastructure, Metrorail, bus, Amtrak, hotels etc. Imagine no parking hassles, because the metro drops off right in the new Stadium. This project will likely involve the removal of some buildings, or houses, adding or rerouting a road, making existing parking lots two stories instead of 1 to handle extra cars. Having this kind of facility will allow for the possibility of getting other large events like 1. NCAA Bowl games and playoffs. 2. NCAA Basketball Final Four. 3. NCAA Wrestling Championship 4. Democratic National Convention 5. Super Bowl if they keep buildings hotels in the Buffalo Area. 6. The NFL Combine. 7. Neutral site games for NCAA football teams. If they make it a first class venue, then, you'll attract first class events, even with the cold weather.
  20. The don't sell out in December because 1.Folks have spent all their extra money on Christmas gifts. 2.The average income in Buffalo in like under 30K which doesn't leave much extra spending cash. 3. The population of WNY has declined. 4. Plus in the last 15 year's the Bills haven't been competitive and we're out of the playoff hunt in early Dec. 5. Even when we were competitive in the Kelly years, we didn't always sellout. The Comeback game wasn't a sellout, it wasn't on TV, and that was a playoff game. 6. Some people don't want to freeze their ass off at an outdoor game for 5 hours.
  21. Some tailgate are fun and others are nothing more than drunken idiots, peeing on the tires of someone's car and bowling in the parking lot using a keg and beer bottles. Both of which I've seen. It wouldn't bother me at all to see less tailgaiting and more folks in bars and restaurants.
  22. I was watching the game on satellite at a friends house because the game was not sold out in Western New York so it wasn't on local TV. This was also the time before everybody had a Direct TV satellite dish and the NFL ticket. My friend had spent the better part of the morning trying to locate the signal to Orchard Park from his NASA size satellite dish in his backyard. We were watching and listening to the game and the strange thing was when the commercials came on the tv screen went black, yet we could hear the play by play announcers talking about the game and using some colorful language to describe how the Bills were playing. We could also hear other reporters talking about where they're going to stay in Pittsburgh next week, and again all sorts of other colorful things. We should have recorded this because nobody would really believe this story but its 100 percent true. By halftime we were totally depressed and felt like we weren't going to go to another Superbowl this year so we proceeded to drink heavily and eat to our hearts content at the buffet our host had set up for us. But then as you know the second half didn't start good either and Frank Reich threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown and we could see the mass exodus from Orchard Park on TV. We thought I will give him one more series and the Bills scored it was then 35 to 10 and before we know it the Bills has scored 3 more touchdowns and Western New York was rocking, the sleeping giant had awoken. Fans that had left at half time were coming back to the stadium, security refused their ticket, so they started climbing the fence, it looked like a jail break. Finally, security called Mr. Wilson on the Batphone, who promptly told them to let everyone in. When the Bills lined up for the winning FG, and then made it, we went absolutely crazy and started throwing each other in into the hot tub, mind you it's January, We had created our own fandamonium down in Jamestown. I remember Van telling us to Billieve!!!! It was pandemonium, fandemonium and it was created By Van Miller. Thanks Van!
