  1. cj mosley or kahlil mack…… 1st pick
  2. how exactly to you think they have more cap room next year with them splitting the cap hit between this year and next. if they had taken the full cap hit this year and used the surplus money from last year and then rolled over this years surplus into next year they'd have more.saying they would be in a salary cap hell makes no sense to me. they are not using last years rolled money and then splitting the cap hits with this years and next year so there will be money we don't use that cannot be rolled over into next year because you cannot roll multiple years.either way if they are being economical about it they should be proactive and start using that surplus and extending contracts now so they can use that surplus and not wait till next year.
  3. he really needs game experience. and these injuries really derailed his learning curve. hoping for the best when he gets back tho.
  4. i agree with some of that but they are letting money that they rolled from last year just expire because they can't roll multiple years over.so they should have not split the anderson/fitz money is my point.
  5. they still would have had the space to do so. it was a money saving move. or a money move. they have a excess of money this year because they rolled over money from last year. that money cannot be rolled over again into next year so instead of letting that rolled money take the cap hit they instead are moving some to next year. its all about $$$ not keeping the better players.
  6. i don't know if he's the best FS in the league but the vibe a lot of people give off around here is byrd isn't worth that much and the bills would be better off without spending on him and spending on someone else..and thats the problem is they aren't gonna spend that money anyway. so we just will be without a top player and its not trading that money to spend on another position its almost as if they operate under a self imposed salary cap thats less than the actual cap. and use the cash to cap theory to justify this. I'm not saying they are cheap. they just got mario last year. but they let levitre walk and byrd will probably walk as well when there was more than enough cap to resign both.even the mark anderson/fitz dead money rolled over to next year is a huge red flag to me. why not eat it all this year when we have more room? instead they slit it and are letting it effect next years cap when we can't rollover the preexisting roll over money.
  7. running the good players out of town is something i don't understand. 1. we don't know what contract byrd wanted 2. we don't know what contract the bills offered him 3.the bills had more than enough money to keep byrd and they couldn't get it done last year 4.the bills need all the players they can get and not keeping our own draft picks who preform above and beyond is the talent RB was talking about with resigning our own and within months of that statement levitre was gone and byrd is in a bitter contract negotiation. why are you giving this front office so much credit that its byrds fault? 5.the bills have to overly for guys right now its just the way it is guy. come to reality. players are drafted by the bills and have no loyalty to buffalo. even with the tax situation buffalo is playing from behind in terms of contracts. also buffalo isn't exactly a prime destination for a 21yo kid. just gotta be real about the situation. i know some of you will be mad hearing that but its true. 13 years no playoffs and western NY.. not exactly a great situation.
  8. i hope they make this move for him. if you cant look past that they tried to get him and he chose to stay with the skins as your reason fr not getting him thats a little silly. buffalo or washington? rg3? or at the time kevin kolb... playoffs or 13 year drought of playoffs. we gotta be real about the situation. he might wanna come now knowing how interested the bills were in the off season. hopefully it can get done.
  9. saw this yesterday and was cracking up. girls needs to get out of the way when these kinds of fights happen cause everything is happening so fast that usually you go into self defense mode and start punching whatever comes into view. not saying its right that he hits this chick(she took it like a champ. didnt even get knocked down) but if you wanna insert yourself in to a situation like that in the heat of the moment. dont be shocked if you get punched.
  10. i got a sweet idea. maybe instead of forming a 6th grade school girl attitude toward him we cheer for him and the front office to resign one of our best players..........nah thats probably to much to hope for.
  11. amazing what he looks like finally being able to play press man. scheme/coaching has really helped him.thankfully we finally have a competent DC and DB coach
  12. what makes you think they will spend it? id rather they keep the good players they do have. they had plenty of money to get it done
  13. i for one hope his contract situation is resolved. the bills had plenty of money to get it done last year and not didn't. hopefully they get it done
  14. I really like ASJ but I wonder if they value that position enough to address it that early in the draft. I would be happy with him. But I think we could also upgrade thru free agency with a Gresham-petit grew they are both entering the contract season and have been a little let down from wht they were thought to be. But tons better than less smith. Chandler and one of those two guys I think would be awesome and would be able to take BPA at a impact position with the first round pick
  15. i think this is the problem. its black and white in some peoples mind. but the truth IMO is someplace in the middle. thats why i cant go balls deep into the byrd is a jerk without thinking the FO also has some blame. without being byre-parker-or someone in the FO...none of us know and jumping to conclusions is whats got this board all messed up on the byrd situation.... but it is a message board so im pretty sure thats why we are all here.
  16. dont you come on here and spread these facts...lol except hes on a one year deal not a long term deal. and how do you know what the bills offered him? none of us do.
  17. im sorry you are correct. i will take your word over anyone elses because your opinion on what he should have done is right and he is a liar. hes stealing your money on a team with no salary cap space to do anything because of him. burn him!!
  18. the past contracts i was thinking about is resigning there own drafted players. keeping there own talent.jason petersmarshawn lynch(iknow it wasnt a contract but he should have never left for a 4th round pick. i think it turned into tank carder and he never made it out of camp)jabari greeryou could list poz and whittner here too. have played well since leavingandy levitrenate clements was allowed to walk out for nothing in return...pat williamsim just saying that we shouldn't show a blind loyalty to the front office just because we root for the team. they have got it wrong but gotten it right sometimes too. but im gonna question them just as much. "hes fully making it up"? what if he wasn't? i just cant deal in a absolute stance when i dont know for sure and i am 100% sure you dont know either. im sorry but i dont understand why people take the side of the FO like they have done the right thing or are getting it right. 13 years of no playoffs and abundance of miserable draft picks makes me second guess things they do.
  19. too bad none of us know what the real numbers are on it. judging by how the bills have treated past contract negotiations tho im not so trusting everything was done to retain him. the bills have plenty of cap room. russ brandon just 10 months ago was talking about a changing of the culture and that they wanted to sign there own young players and here we are with levitre gone and byrd could be too. i just dont wanna get stuck in the same vicious circle of letting players walk and drafting the same position the next draft. they have been stuck with one foot in a hole for too long. when other players/agents/coaches around the league see that im sure its not a good thing.
  20. id play for 20$. i nor you would be very good and no team would want to pay us any amount to play...luckily the team confirmed he took shots to play thru this last year(sorry im to lazy to go back and find it). i can see why he wouldnt want to again after he was not rewarded with a long term contract.
  21. the team confirmed he had the injury last year and took shots to play thru it.as for your case of PF maybe you should get that fixed. i hope your job doesnt involve you being on your feet i could only imagine how that would suck to work with a condition like that.
  22. with the amount of cap this team has and the amount that cannot be rolled over to 2014 because it was already rolled over once it makes me think this team has a a self imposed salary cap they don't want to go over thats why they split the cap hit of Fitz/mark anderson money into this year and next. and with that being said why would we let byrd AND levitre leave for little to no value. something is up with all this right after brandon was talking about creating a winning culture and resigning our own. idk. sounds like business as usual for the FO. i kinda am more on byrds side of things thru this. he played last year with a injury expecting the FO to reward him with a contract. it didnt happen. i can see why hes not happy having to risk millions by playing and the possibility of getting hurt. it is a business and people are talking about being mad at him because hes not a team players and whatnot. well hes trying to take care of his future right now. and the argument of 6.9 million being a ton of money and he should get out there is kind of moot when you realize hes risking possibly 20 million. you cant equate a 9-5 job to that of a nfl player.
  23. i like it. change is good. i wish the bills went off the rez a bit with a few unis and used that matt white and glossy white checkered look and more red and less blue.
  24. i want to believe that the FO is doing the right thing but the actions say its the same old same. im happy with marrone and pettine and hope that hackett gets it going. bills had enough money to resign both byrd and levitre but i thought it was more realistic that only 1 player was resigned. so if byrd leaves too its gonna look like standard operations over at OBD. 2 awesome players in their prime walking for nothing in return on levitre and what will probably turn into a 4th or 5th round pick in the other.
  25. no one in the NFL has been able to do this.
